Support - Incendiary Airburst Launcher - Only direct impacts count

I just landed a huge hit with incendiary airburst, got at least 4 players with the impact however only got 8 damage registered to the challenge. Even the impact should have granted more progress. I have been stuck on this challenge since day three after release and I'm sick of not getting anywhere.
