The Issue with C4 Explosives and Drones

Battlefield Storytime:

   I decided to give this method a chance anyway, see if it was even POSSIBLE to get a tank or vehicle kill with this method.  I am here to tell you, it is NOT. 

This level of battery drain is broken.  How do I know? 

Story:

As a Recon Spec Ops, I spawn on Sobek City at the tall building behind D obj, in Conquest.  I skydive down into B, dodging AA and rifle fire, by pulling my chute, diving, repulling my shute, flying right into a doorway of the buildings at B without dying.   I go hide and heal.  I hear a drone.  They're looking for me.  I sneak my way through the buildings without being seen by the drone but I have to knife a guy peeking a window, to get by him.  I go as far through the B buildings as possible, to the far side of them.  I lay down to check the map.  I see an enemy tank that is spotted on the map in the Main Center Road, that goes right past B, just north of me.  I see there's a little 'out-building' next to that.  Perfect.  I sprint for that small building, dive through the small building's doorway onto the floor, safe.   However, upon landing inside, I see an enemy spawn beacon.  **bleep**.  I immediately destroy that, and hide in a corner, hoping to use the building to do the deed.  But I hear footsteps, running right to me.  I pull out my pistol and kill that guy, likely looking for who destroyed his spawn beacon.  I know my position is now compromised, and I have to move again.  I exit the building out the other window, and run doubling back, back up the dirt street, now behind the tank, heading in the same direction as it... and dive into a pile of trash on the South side of the road, right behind the enemy tank.  Cool.  This'll do. 

I am now 10 to 20 ft from the enemy tank a car length from it, laying prone, in piles of garbage,  between a destroyed vehicle and a dumpster along the side of the road.  Now is my chance.  If this is ever going to work, it will be right now.  I deploy the drone, quickly switch to c4, stick all three to the bottom of the drone, switch back to drone piloting, fly the drone straight at the tank... (It takes half a second to switch back, I fly as soon as the c4 is applied with no delay on my part.)  I fly it right up the tanks **bleep** point-blank touching its booty.  This flight, took a whole 2 seconds, tops?  And, as I click to switch to c4, the drone self-destructs... already... that fast... The c4 is disabled... and when I try to hit the trigger on the remote... it doesn't blow.  :( 

I literally went above and beyond to get a tank kill with this method, using the likely intended classes subclass to do it.  I crushed it.  There is no way I could have done this any better.  This is not a skill issue.  This is a broken feature.  From the distance I was from the tank I could have thrown the c4 on to its **bleep** myself, and just blown it like that.  There is no reason to use the drone, when it has effectly zero range, and less than 5 seconds before self destruct.  This ruins gameplay fun, this isn't balanced, this removed an exciting mechanic to attempt. This "decision"... is a garbage decision from WHOMEVER at EA has the authority and then thought, "Yeah, that'll work fine." 

I evaded death three times at least, to get to that position for the kill, only to fail because you think having c4 on a drone EVEN AT ALL, would be broken?  Whomever you are, "decision maker" you clearly don't ever play this game and have NO CLUE.

Fix this issue.  You over-employed over-paid fool of a game development manager.
