Happened here on PC. Attempted to edit loadout before respawning... after making loadout changes and hoping to respawn, the screen had no HUD at all. Game still going, can see players running by the body, can pull up scoreboard with TAB. And still stuck on the "death screen"!
TRY THIS WORK-AROUND: Press the "Y" key.
Pressing the "Y" key closed the "death screen" and suddenly respawned. You see? The game isn't broken! You just have to guess the secret key press to make it work! It's just a little guessing mini-game before the respawn! Har har!
I hope that helps!
Anyway... forced keybind rant incoming!
What's with the "Y" key to respawn or edit loadout anyway? Is it possible to change that keybind? I appreciate that DICE removed the forced keybinds on the spawn screen. However, there are other forced keybinds in this game--and they are not just a bother, but a problem.
All of the forced keybinds in BF6 are ridiculous! See if the following makes any sense...
To start the game: "Press SPACE BAR", but then there are the 2 screens that SPACE BAR does nothing to continue/exit/get past those screens.
To get past the next 2 screens: "Press the ESC key". (Do we really need to see those screens again every time we start the game? Can I just play the game already?)
To use keys to navigate menus: WASD. (Even though the keys that I have set for movement are ESDF.)
To start a lobby to play the game: "Press SPACE BAR".
To respawn: "Press the Y key".
