Its continually just decisions and actions from the devs without consideration for the wider consequences and the feelings of the base.
I rarely play casual breakthrough, usually as a warm up if I haven't played for a week or so, I will do one. I generally lean towards conquest as my preferred mode so I am generally online. However I am really bothered by folks insisting on how others play the game, devs included.
Unlocks and experience for portal should have been kept. Folks that play there are not going to have a dramatic impact on folks who don't. Folks who don't are going to obviously have limited, if any, interactions with folks who generally do. Folks who casually do it don't do it enough to impact anyone irrespective of how the elitist community who looks down on casual players may feel.
40% of this country does not have internet access, or has internet access so limited they lack the bandwidth to be able to play large scale matches competitively. Numbers-wise, that is a large enough demographic that allowing unlocks and experience for folks who have to play offline should be a no-brainer.
If you are seriously bothered that people play bots make progression, you have problems. Mind your own **bleep** business, and play the game however you want, but do not ever think its okay to tell other people how to play.
I won't bother reading any replies challenging my thought process, I have heard all the tired arguments. The problem here is not how people choose to play, its others' inability to mind their own business and keep to themselves.
