Vehicle sight reticules in hardcore.
They do not exist. When playing hardcore, the vehicle aiming reticules disappear. This wasn’t the case in previous titles. Hardcore simply meant no spotting except for recon, significantly increased damage, and a limited HUD. Vehicle sights were not impacted.
under this new logic, red dot sights or other accesssory sights outside of iron sights shouldn’t have reticules either. As a dedicated helicopter pilot, I’ve grown use to just winging it but it makes using wire guided munitions very difficult to use with any real effect. In normal mode, the AIM guided missle can be used effectively because you can free look and use the reticule to guide the weapon to target (which is still skill based when piloting or the target is mobile). It makes no sense that a multimillion dollar aircraft would be put in service without a basic core component.
the same goes for the gunner position. When using the 30mm cannon or the lock-on hellfire, it’s very difficult to get rounds on target or get a lock on enemy vehicles without the designation (lock on) box.
Now, that being said, I could see having the aiming reticules being damage dependent. Start off with them fully active but if you take enough damage, they shut down and you’re left to guessing your shots or setting down to repair. That would not only take care of the missing reticule issue but add the extra dynamic of system failures due to extensive damage.
