Voice chat remains muted and can't be turned back on

First couple of days me and my friend was having no issues with chat what so ever, but now I cannot talk in-game at all. I have voice chat enabled, tried both party and squad chats but non of those work. Cleared the game cache, restarted game and console, watched videos of every possible thing I can do and followed all their instuctions.

In the lobby both of us are chatting but nobody can hear one-another there. On the side of the screen it shows the game is picking up us talking as the icon shows with the username of the player, but on both of our screens it shows the other player muted with the speaker with a red line through it. Both ourselves and the other person are unmuted on each console.

We then tried in-game squad chat rather than party chat, I have found out that all players are muted in the squad but I click unmute and it does nothing, it won't let me unmute anyone.

Voice chat in other games work so I know the issue isnt the mic
