Done some testing and the AI isnt random. BUT the AI is too mistake prone in qualifying, its a good thing for races but for qualifying the chances for mistakes should be reduced by 80% they often make mistakes which cost easily up to a second which clearly shows in a single sector, thus leading to sometimes being even 2 seconds off their actual pace when they made 2 mistakes in that lap. Its really annoying though and unrealistic! The AI itself seems pretty consistent as long as they dont make msitakes but as soon as they make a meaningful mistake its already at least half a second lost. Fixing the mistakes in qualifying is the solution to this relevant problem!
