Corrupted Savegame

If a file is corrupted and the recovery has failed there isn’t anything that you can do to recover it

To be honest, I was also leaning towards that answer and had almost come to terms with it. But hope always remained, and most likely is fading away before my eyes...

I just got the same problem. I was not paying attention when it happened, but I was on the game, and when I looked back my computer was restarting. It doesn't seem like there is anything I can do, but what happens if I create a new save file? Am I losing things like pitcoins and podium pass cosmetics that I paid for, or is it just things like my offline career saves and other progression? Other items of concern would be the special liveries and helmets for the actual teams that were gained through the online challenges, because I have all of those as well and there would be no way to get them again. 

Edit: Continued without saving and without starting a new save, it just deleted my offline data, which makes sense. Still very annoying and dumb that it can just happen and there does not seem to be a fix and this seems to have been an issue for years, but oh well.
