Inaccurate Stewardship

Just finished a ranked race P4 of 16. The ONLY incident was getting aggressively rammed from behind from a player who had just crashed from an incident ahead of me, and decided to kamikaze the nearest player (me). The ram forced me through a corner and I received a 3 sec penalty (an issue by itself). Finished the race in 4th without further incident. Lost points. I'm thoroughly annoyed and confused at how this ranked system works. I'm consistently the cleanest driver and achieving fastest laps, yet the points are all over the place. I would LOVE a chart or something to explain specifically how point are awarded/deducted. It's so frustrating to play a clean race, in a large lobby, in top 5, and STILL get negative points.
