Logitech G923 Problem

I have just purchased a Logitech G923 to replace my old Logitech G29 wheel which has worked with no problems at all since I purchased it 8 or 9 years ago. I bought the new wheel to take advantage of the Trueforce technology. I run it with F1 25 (ver. 1.5) on a PC.

When starting any session in F1 25, my new wheel works properly & all is well until I have to use the Rewind feature (which, unfortunately is quite often!). As soon as I start racing again the wheel does not feel quite as good & sounds awful all the time. Instead of being smooth & quiet when running it sounds as if the internal motors are full of sand/grit & vibrates my desk, making loud, unpleasant noises. When I run over rumble strips it feels nothing like running over the kerbs. Before using the rewind button, when I run over a kerb it sounds & feels exactly what you would expect this to feel like & what it is obviously supposed to be like.

The awful sounds & poor feel then continues for the rest of the session no matter what I try. The only ways I have found to revert back to the proper feel are:-

1 Restarting the session

2 Leaving the track I am on & going to another circuit

3 Unplugging the wheel from the USB socket & then plugging it in again. This works during the current session but is obviously annoying to have to do this each time I use the Rewind button. It does enable me to continue my current session with the wheel working properly.

4 Closing & restarting the program.

It therefore appears to me that there is a bug somewhere that is introduced in the software that controls the wheel as soon as the Rewind button is pressed.

Other than this issue, the game has run perfectly for me from the day it was released.

I presume my problem is easy to reproduce at your end & await comment from you as soon as possible in the hope that the issue can be solved & I can enjoy years of us from the G923, just as I have from my G29.

Thank you in advance.

Same here with PC. Working perfectly until you pause the game, after pause the rattling starts.

Also sometimes in qualifying the wheel radious is way off. The car wont turn at all and need to restart the game to get it working again.

Following my original post & the one immediately above this one, I have now obtained the report codes obtained immediately before & after using the rewind button.

The report code is the same after using the rewind button as it is before using it & is:-

    VDHT-RTXG-VRLM-ZSBG

I also attach the text file for the Dx Diag information if that is of any use here.

I assume that this message will be seen by EA/Codemasters staff but if there is a special Bug Report form (that I have not found), would someone please let me know.

    Thanks in anticipation.

Since my original post I have used the G923 in F1 24 & it does not have any issues when using the Flashback button. The Force Feedback remains exactly the same as when beginning a session & the wheel does not become unpleasantly noisy (continually sounding as if the motors are running in grit) as is the case with F1 25.

With both games, I have tried turning Trueforce on & off, changing the torque & audio settings,  but, no matter what settings I use & whether Trueforce is supposed to be on or off, the wheel fells exactly the same all the time (except after using the Rewind button in F1 25). It feels hardly any different to my G25 &, so far, is a very disappointing waste of money.

Another thing, if I do not start the Logitech G HUB software & just let F1 25 control the wheel settings, the G923 feels no different whatsoever. The Logitech software appears to do nothing at all.

I will try & get a response/comment from EA by resubmitting my original post with the report codes from the bottom of the screen when the G923 is running both before & after I use the Rewind button. I have no idea if the codes change each time you use the Pause button or whether they only change when there is an obvious problem when the program is running. Either way, I don't see how they will help with this issue, I suspect you will actually have to play the game using a G923.

Just to remind you,  I am playing on a PC, version 1.5 of the game. I have just downloaded version 1.6 & will try it with the wheel, to get the report codes tomorrow.

I really hope there is a problem with the way the game treats the G923 & that, whatever it is, it can b quickly sorted by EA.

  • Pretty much the same issue here; using the Logitech G923 on PS5. I'm not using the rewind button, but when I pause the game and continue playing afterwards the Force Feedback is a lot weaker than before pausing the game. Only thing that helps is closing the game and restarting it again.
This problem didn't happen when the game was just released.

This reminds me of the day I first experienced the trueforce from F123. I found the trueforce feature pretty loud and annoying so I ended up turn it off forever.  Maybe you could try to lower the trueforce intensity or turn it off to see if it helps you.
