Logitech G923 Problem

I have just purchased a Logitech G923 to replace my old Logitech G29 wheel which has worked with no problems at all since I purchased it 8 or 9 years ago. I bought the new wheel to take advantage of the Trueforce technology. I run it with F1 25 (ver. 1.5) on a PC.

When starting any session in F1 25, my new wheel works properly & all is well until I have to use the Rewind feature (which, unfortunately is quite often!). As soon as I start racing again the wheel does not feel quite as good & sounds awful all the time. Instead of being smooth & quiet when running it sounds as if the internal motors are full of sand/grit & vibrates my desk, making loud, unpleasant noises. When I run over rumble strips it feels nothing like running over the kerbs. Before using the rewind button, when I run over a kerb it sounds & feels exactly what you would expect this to feel like & what it is obviously supposed to be like.

The awful sounds & poor feel then continues for the rest of the session no matter what I try. The only ways I have found to revert back to the proper feel are:-

1 Restarting the session

2 Leaving the track I am on & going to another circuit

3 Unplugging the wheel from the USB socket & then plugging it in again. This works during the current session but is obviously annoying to have to do this each time I use the Rewind button. It does enable me to continue my current session with the wheel working properly.

4 Closing & restarting the program.

It therefore appears to me that there is a bug somewhere that is introduced in the software that controls the wheel as soon as the Rewind button is pressed.

Other than this issue, the game has run perfectly for me from the day it was released.

I presume my problem is easy to reproduce at your end & await comment from you as soon as possible in the hope that the issue can be solved & I can enjoy years of us from the G923, just as I have from my G29.

Thank you in advance.

  • Unfortunately, even after patch v1.11 the issue has not been resolved.

I was really excited to play with my new wheel, but this problem is making me consider asking for a refund. At the moment, I’ve actually stopped playing because of it.

I see that the status of this thread is still on "Needs Info", is the issue currently being worked on, or is there a timeline for a fix?

Hi EA_Groguet  - I hope you are doing well.

I wanted to kindly follow up to see if there has been any update regarding this issue. Unfortunately, the problem still persists whenever entering pit stops, using rewind, or restarting sessions in F1 25.

This has made it nearly impossible to complete a full race with the Logitech G923. I purchased both the G923 and F1 25 specifically to enjoy a complete experience, but so far I have not been able to finish a single race without losing control while others are able to continue.

I would greatly appreciate any update or confirmation that this is still under active review.

Thank you for your time and support.

    EA_Groguet

As the release notes for 1.11 did not mention the G923 issue I have not tried my wheel with it & have continued to use my old G29.

It's very disappointing that the thread is still marked "Needs Info". I hope that this is an oversight because the problem is easy to experience simply by using a G923 in the game. Being a very common wheel, surely EA/Codemasters must have easy access to one.

As I have already pointed out several times in this thread,  the G923 works properly in F1 24 so the fact that it doesn't in F1 25 must surely mean that there is a small programming error in the games software. Couldn't the relevant code simply be copied from last years game to this years?

No one has commented on my observation that in both F1 24 & 25, TrueForce seems to have no effect at all no matter what is set in the Logitech G-Hub software. Not too concerned at this at the moment, I would just like my G923 working properly with F1 25 as soon as possible.

Further comment from EA/Codemasters would be greatly appreciated, especially a fix in update 1.12!

  • Hi guys, I wanted to update you on something I found out.

I managed to bypass the issue by reducing to zero the value of "Logitech Trueforce intensity" under General Settings.

Now I'm able to play and rewind as much as I want, and I'm still getting feedback from the wheel.

Try again and let me know if you can "solve" the issue this way!

Hey! The latest update today made it worse. Now the G923 makes a grinding sound at all times!

See the post two posts up: reduce the Trueforce intensity to a lower level.
