Dear EA F1 Team,
Rendering 16–32 million pixels per frame... (depending on headset) in full resolution for F1 25’s VR is such an unnecessary overkill for peripheral vision, especially in racing where the track is our focus.
Fixed Foveated Rendering (FFR) is easy to implement and could deliver an instantaneous ~15–25% performance boost, making VR smoother for all headsets. The OpenVR SDK's IVRCompositor interface directly supports FFR (Fixed Foveated Rendering) through its texture submission and resolution scaling features, making implementation straightforward
It’s a quick fix and a huge win. Any chance FFR will be in F1 25?
