VR Wobble / jitter when in Car
This issue has persisted since 23 /24 and makes the game unplayable. When in game, there is a head tracking problem which gives the feeling of "wobbling", and it seems to be that the tracking is delayed or out of sync, causing stutter when moving your head. This causes instant sickness and makes it unplayable. I'm yet to find a post in the community with a fix and it seems to be a very common issue. My specs: 5700x3d 32GB Ram Nvidia 5070TI Quest 3 via SteamVR (Link cable and virtual desktop) running at 90hz Tried a wide range of settings, including dropping everything to the minimum. No avail. Please Add Fixed Foveated Rendering to F1 25 VR
Dear EA F1 Team, Rendering 16–32 million pixels per frame... (depending on headset) in full resolution for F1 25’s VR is such an unnecessary overkill for peripheral vision, especially in racing where the track is our focus. Fixed Foveated Rendering (FFR) is easy to implement and could deliver an instantaneous ~15–25% performance boost, making VR smoother for all headsets. The OpenVR SDK's IVRCompositor interface directly supports FFR (Fixed Foveated Rendering) through its texture submission and resolution scaling features, making implementation straightforward It’s a quick fix and a huge win. Any chance FFR will be in F1 25?Game Crash Randomly while using VR Steam/EA
My Game keeps crashing. This could be in Menu, Loadingscreen, Pit or while driving. The Game just freeze for few seconds, after that it's crashing without any error. This happens mostly at the first round on track. 1-2 times i could drive 4-5 Rounds No Overheating or max usage somewhere else. VR Runs with HP Reverb G2 on 100% resolution smoothly like never else (90fps constantly) I tried without Vr as Well, maybe i was "lucky" but i did not run into a crash after ~20 Minutes of playing. Launcher: Ea and Steam Launcher Hardware: 9900x RTX 5080 Astral 32GB RAM 850W Powersupply (No OC until "XMP" Profile selected in Bios) What i did: - Update any Driver (GPU, Mainboard) Bios MB, Bios GPU, VC++, Windows 10 incl. optional - Reinstall: SteamVr (with deleting the Files in Appdata), Windows Mixed Reality, WMR for Steam, VR Headset (manually uninstalled drivers) - lower steamvr resolution to 70% - Lower ingame Resolution and turned off any "special" Settings - Run with VSync (normally without) - Run in Fullscreen / Windows Mode - Start everything as Administrator - Start with Compatiblity mode (win 7 and 8) - Used different Ports for VR Headset, replugged every cable. - probably alot more i dont remeber right now. What i gonna try: - DDU for uninstall GPU driver + reinstall (already did after changing GPU from 3080 ti to 5080 - deactivate Steam VR Home - Gonna try F1 23 as well, i did not play it for a while. If a NVIDIA driver or something else causing the Issue, i could have some Problems in other Games as well. I dont think so, because i played other VR Games without problems (1-2 Weeks ago) - Maybe i gonna try again in non-VR Mode for a longer duration. Optional Information: I do have an old Oculus Rift (with sensors) as well. Depending of what happens after "what i gonna try", i will try this headset as well. -> this would be only for sharing more information for fixing the problem. Thanks in advance.Pimax Crystal (OG): Graphical anomalies at HMD FULL resolution
When the HMD is set to use High resolution within Pimax Play, running under steam VR, the game will eventually, and most often during loading screens shows graphical artifacts (distortions, blurring etc) and given enough time fail to run entirely, forcing me to crash out. However if I change the resolution on the HMD in Pimax Play to 'Medium' it does run successfully, with no additional changes to the game itself. I've tried running the game in 'windowed' mode and 'full screen', with full screen being worse (as in the issue occurs sooner). It's about time we move on from the fuzzy distance blur. Adding msaa anti aliasing for VR mode will help give more visual fidelity in the distance along with mixed fxaa This is the standard and a lot of modern VR games and it would bring a lot more potential to this years F1 game If you want a decent experience please consider upsetting his so we can have this implemented. Changing resolution scale does not helpNo Anti-Aliasing Options in VR mode
Trying to get VR up and running after getting the non-vr graphics settings setup, and I found that there are no options beyond TAA and TAA + Sharpening while playing in VR mode. I doubt this is intentional because DLSS and FSR were available in VR for F1 23 and F1 24. I tried to circumvent this with the XML file by manually setting the correct values for DLAA, but it did not seem to work. Hopefully this can be fixed promptly because TAA looks absolutely terrible and blurry. Alright, here is my uneducated diagnosis of the issue: Many users have reported persistent 'jittering' issues in ANY F1 game when using PCVR, particularly during head movement. Despite widespread frustration, Codemasters has yet to address this since the game's inception. From what i've dived into, the root cause appears to be related to GPU frame time exceeding the optimal threshold for the headset’s refresh rate, leading to performance instability and jittering. For instance, on my Pimax 5K Super, the maximum frame time to maintain a 90Hz refresh rate is 11ms. When the GPU frame time surpasses this limit, frame drops and jittering occur. Monitoring performance using fpsVR or the SteamVR overlay can help users identify exactly when frame-time impacts performance. Interestingly, other VR titles like iRacing or ACC do not exhibit this problem, it could be linked to an underlying API or engine-related limitation. Or such that the VR implementation is tied directly to the "pancake" d3d12? I'm not sure, but its obviously an underlying issue due to the half-baked port for VR, and potentially why its not on console. Using Oculus space warp or fixing a 1/2 render rate in the HMD's setup tools help 'smooth' the issue, but effectively creates crazy ghosting or blur of objects in game (as they are rendered in game at a much lower fps but allows the headset to smooth the motion) gross. you can play around with settings, monitoring that the GPU frame times remain well below the threshold seems to limit the issue, By NOT using DLSS, minimising graphical settings and placing some of the workload onto the CPU (disable async compute), giving headroom to the GPU, but older gen cards may struggle. What do you think?PS VR2 on PC is still completely unplayable just like it was in F1 24
As described in this other user’s post here: VR view fully bugged out | EA Forums - 12072138 This issue has something to do with lens optimization, as toggling it on brings back colour around your field of view, as if you can only see one pixel at a time. When I look down at my red ferrari my entire field of view is red, when I look up at the sky the whole view is blue. When lens optimization is off however the field of view is completely black. OSD and menus are completely fine and normal, it’s once you get into the car that doesn’t work, yet the view on the TV is completely fine, only bugged in the headset. Considering 23 still works no problem I was hoping 25 would’ve somehow fixed this same issue 24 had but that is not the case. F1 25 is completely unplayable for me. Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RX 9070 XT, PS VR2 via PC Adapter This is a bizarre issue to describe but please EA the last 2 years of F1 games have been unplayable in VR for me, and have remained playing 23 because that somehow works no problem, what changed? No rain spray in VR
There is no rain spray showing in VR in wet weather races. Have tried all settings nothing seems to make it better. Rain spray in pancake mode looks amazing so I know it’s modelled within the game. Playing on meta quest 3 with link cable, rtx 4080. I have downloaded latest Nvidia drivers. This was also an issue in F1 23 and F1 24, however surprisingly in F1 22 rain spray looks amazing in VR (I have just tried it). is this a bug or is it just how it is now? If it’s how it is now may just go back to 22.
