Can't sprint at all on career mode.

Bought the game a couple days ago, started a career mode, turns out I can't sprint at all while in possession of the ball. Whenever I hold RT to sprint, the animations for technical dribble happen instead. Googled the problem and tried solutions such as turning off simulation settings, changing my controller, changing button layout, nothing works. Meaning the game is unplayable for me right now.
