Here is step by step:
I have the solution.
1. Change the players number to what you need him to be.
2. Back out(save & continue).
3. Go back into edit player(if no glitch happens)
4. Edit everything you need to edit.
5. Save & Continue.
6. Save Roster File.
7. Edit next player you want & repeat steps 1 through 6.
If glitch happens after you change number and go back in(and generic character is there), sign a different player to edit and it should work.
While I appreciate the effort in this fix, it does not work at all. The developers need to address and fix this issue. It has been over a year since it was reported.
