this doesn't happen every time, but when the AI is near the max contract limit.
For some reason they prefer signing their AHL players as opposed to their drafted players.
I just had the Chicago GM let their FRANCHISE 1st OVR pick go to FA. Something is seriously wrong with their signing logic.
