I haven't had the Dave or Patrice quests for a few weeks - they were there the first two times but the icon has disappeared and I can't see them in the goals section.

This is normal and not a bug.
The Dave's Daily Do-Its is a mini event specific for New Players, it doesn't rerun.
The Patrice ones, the devs have not done another one since the shooter category themed one.
The Events button only shows up when there is an event upcoming/ongoing.
