EA WRC crashes in menu - EADesktop.exe ntdll.dll 0xc0000005

Hello,

I am reporting a crash issue with EA SPORTS WRC on PC through the EA App.

The game was working perfectly before. I played for around 3 hours without any issues, but suddenly it started crashing after launching the game.

The game starts normally, loads into the main menu, and I can navigate for around 60 seconds. After that, it closes silently to desktop without any crash report or error message.

Windows Event Viewer shows:

  • Faulting application: EADesktop.exe
  • Faulting application: EAGEP.exe
  • Faulting module: ntdll.dll
  • Exception code: 0xc0000005 (Access violation)

System:

  • Platform: EA App (PC)
  • OS: Windows 11
  • GPU: NVIDIA
  • EA App version: 13.743.0.6256

Troubleshooting already performed:

  • Repaired game files through EA App
  • Completely reinstalled EA App
  • Reinstalled EA Anti-Cheat
  • Cleared EA App cache
  • Clean installed NVIDIA graphics drivers
  • Ran DISM and SFC system repairs
  • Tested RAM with MemTest86 (no errors found)
  • Created a new Windows administrator account
  • Tested with Exploit Protection changes

The issue remains unchanged.

I have also found other recent reports from users experiencing similar behaviour: the game works normally, then suddenly starts crashing shortly after entering the main menu.

Could this be related to EA App, EA Anti-Cheat, or a recent compatibility issue?

    I have the same issue - the game crash / close by itself. I tried everything what you also mentioned (with help by AI), reinstalled everything etc, but nothing. The AI says that is a EA problem and need to wait for some fix from them?

    EA please help.

    You are not the only one. All of pc/laptop users face errors in their event viewer (like faulting application name: EADesktop.exe or EALauncher.exe and others something like host I think, all of them related to EAApp). All these errors began after the latest EA desktop update. There wasn't there before for sure! I noticed exactly the same errors to both of my machines (desktop custom pc Rog strix x570f gaming, Nvidia 3080, amd Ryzen 5800x) and dell ALIENWARE ac16250 laptop.  It's the latest update at fault. App recovery and clean reinstall of EA app didn't fix it. So yes! There is a bug which triggers these bunch of errors every time I open or close the EAapp. My FC26 just crashed once..

    Don't you test your updates before releasing them???

    Same here, suddenly F1 24 has become unplayable as it just crashes after about 20 seconds at the menu. Event viewer is showing me the exact same error. I’ve tried everything to get it to work but still crashes. Ruined my weekend plans. :(

    Same problem / issue here as well. Yesterday i tryed to play this and game opened and ran fine for about 60 secs or so, and then closed by itself. I also did some of the things the OP has done to fix it. Then i gave up and uninstalled it.

    I'm reinstalling the game today right now for the 2nd time, but i doubt that helps anything.
