Hey Simmers! Welcome to the Laundry List where we share the top community concerns that we’re currently investigating and hope to resolve in an upcoming patch. As it’s been a year since we first announced our team dedicated to tackling technical issues, we wanted to provide you with a quick update on their progress. Over the past 12 months we’ve provided 7 dedicated Laundry Lists, fixed hundreds of issues, both new and older, with a focus on those most impacting the community. We’ve been pleased to make meaningful improvements, and recognize that this work continues. Over the coming months, we will continue to experiment with new ways to provide more transparency into the top issues we’re working on and make it easier to get that info via our Discord. This starts today, as we’ve seen lots of great questions from the community and wanted to address many of them by sharing what goes into this process from start to finish. 🐞 Issue is Discovered & Verified When a player reports an issue via our EA Forums, a friendly Community Manager or EA Forums superuser will see if help can be provided through troubleshooting and alternative methods to try, confirming if the game is working as intended, or if this may be an issue related to mods. If not, they'll check whether the issue has already been reported to merge it with an existing thread or start a new one. A ticket is then made for our Quality Assurance (QA) team to review. They may need to collect more information from players to reproduce the bug on their devices, which is critical for the next steps and why we always encourage players to provide as much specific detail as possible when reporting an issue. Our Sims teams are also discovering and reporting issues internally that get documented alongside player reported issues. Due to the wide variety of freedom with The Sims 4, plus the randomness and variation in playstyles and player options, it’s impossible to truly test every possible scenario. This means that some issues may only appear in specific environments, and while we strive to address as many as we can prior to launch, we appreciate your understanding. When QA is able to reproduce the issue, they will file a ticket for an engineer to review and give it a severity rating, which can depend on how many votes it has received and how disruptive to gameplay the issue is for players. Your votes matter! 🔎 Fix is Investigated & Created A team of engineers will be assigned to work on an issue and figure out the cause. The scope, type, and risk of bug fixes can vary wildly, from relatively simple fixes through to complete code system restructures. Given the almost infinite variations of devices, operating systems, unique combinations The Sims 4 content installed, unique gameplay styles, and mods downloaded, it can be no small feat to identify the root cause! Once the engineer understands what’s causing the technical issue, they can start to plan how to best resolve it. Fixes can bring their own unique challenges, such as accidentally introducing more issues, which is the last thing we want to do. When the engineer has created a fix, the QA team comes back into the mix, to test each fix before it’s released to ensure the fix works as intended across all platforms. 🚀 Fix is Deployed to Players If that all looks good, the code is then submitted for review for final approval. Once approved, it’s scheduled to be deployed during a specific release. We understand that with each update, there’s the potential to disrupt your gameplay, and so our team takes care to group as many fixes together as possible to limit downtime. This essential yet often behind-the-scenes work involves collaboration across multiple teams. We prioritize issues based on both the reports and votes from the community, as well as the bugs identified by our QA team. Thank you for your continued reports and votes on what issues you want us to address! Here’s the player reported issues we’re investigating for our next update: Fishing Spots in Sulani errors After finishing any quests, if the Sim travels to another lot, the quests reappear. Unable to place the 'Rock Solid Faux Wall' due to big foot print Back Plate of Toilet Does Not Hide In Wall Leaves and branches become more visible when hovering and rotating the 'Olive You Forever' tree plant Textured glass swatches are missing for the 'Wave Goodbye Privacy Screen' object The Throne of Stone toilet’s back plate is now properly hidden when placed against a wall. The Olive You Forever plant now shows correct visibility when rotated. There are other issues that do not have an EA Forum thread that we’re also working on. Please note that some topics can be complicated to replicate and require an extended investigation on our end, so even though we are actively reviewing, it’s not a guarantee that we’ll have an immediate fix for it in the upcoming patch. Console Cheats Console Cheats vs. PC/Mac Cheats There are a few differences between entering cheat codes on a PC/Mac and entering them on a console like the PlayStation®4 or Xbox One. The most important, though, is that enabling some cheats on a console actually disables Achievements and Trophies on your current game save. You’ll need to earn those the old-fashioned way, without using cheats. Specifically, any of the cheat codes that require you to input “testingcheats true” are the ones that disable Achievements in your current game save. (Note that it does not disable Achievements in your other saves!) Luckily, Build mode cheats like the ones listed here are fair game! How to Open the Cheat Console To enter cheat codes for Live mode of The Sims 4 on a PlayStation or Xbox, start by launching a new game or opening a saved game. Then, open the Cheat Console by holding down all four shoulder buttons while in game (or, if you’re using a mouse and keyboard with your console, press CTRL+Shift+C). This will bring up the cheat dialogue box. To enable cheats, type in “testingcheats true” and then add whichever cheat you want! Close the Cheat Console by pressing all four shoulder buttons again (or pressing ESC if you’re using a mouse and keyboard). Additionally, some cheats may require shift-clicking Sims or objects. To execute a shift-click, hold Circle and press X (on PlayStation 4) or hold B and press A (on Xbox One). Build Mode Cheats There are three different modes in The Sims 4: Create-a-Sim mode, Build mode, and Live mode. You can enter Build/Buy cheats in both Live mode or Build mode, but you must be in Build mode to use them. The Build mode cheats include codes for moving objects, expanding the Build/Buy catalog, and more. A: Sims Delivery Express drops aren’t going away, but we're always looking for new and novel ways to deliver gameplay, as well as objects and clothing to add to your Sims' lives. You can still expect SDX releases throughout the year as well as new Events to engage with The Sims 4 throughout the seasons. What if I log in and don’t see the Event? A: The Event starts on 2/04 at 9 a.m. PST and ends on 4/01. Please make sure you are online and logged into your EA Account. If you still do not see it, you may need to restart The Sims 4 or disable any UI mods you have installed. The Blast from the Past Event will be available to players until 4/01. While no new quests will be added after 3/04, players can still complete quests and claim any event rewards that they've earned but not yet claimed from the Event Screen. Rewards must be claimed by 4/01 or be lost. Will this be available to Everyone? A: Yes! The Blast from the Past Event will be available to everyone starting February 4th, and you won’t need any Packs to participate. What are Event Points? A: Event Points are a limited-time measurement for the Blast from the Past Event that allows you to claim free rewards. As you earn Event Points, you progress along an experience track and can claim rewards along the way. How do I earn Event Points? A: Each Objective in a Quest gives Event Points. Mousing over the Quest will have a tooltip telling you how many points you will earn. Completing the entire Quest nets additional Event Points. Once you have enough, you can claim rewards. Do I have to spend Event Points? A: Your Event Points are a cumulative total. When you claim a reward, you still stay at the same Event Point total, so your Event Points aren’t actually “spent.” What happens if I have leftover Event Points? A: The Blast from the Past event offers a finite number of rewards. If you claim them all and still have Event Points, don’t worry! Your Event Points cannot be used for anything other than the Blast from the Past Event and will expire when the Event is over. Can I still complete the Event if I start late? A: Yes, the event will run for 6 weeks. If you start late, you will have access to all the previous week’s Quests.207Views2likes2CommentsMySims™: Cozy Bundle PC Update!

Sul Sul, Simmers 👋 It’s Xènia here – Designer and longtime Simmer – to talk about why today is a big day for The Sims 4! If you’ve ever missed those suspenseful moments when your Sim’s peaceful night was interrupted by tense music and a sneaky presence, we’ve got great news: the Burglar is back! And the best part? It’s in the base game, so it’s free for everyone with today’s update. The Burglar is an iconic Sim featured in The Sims, The Sims 2, and The Sims 3 who sneaks into houses, usually at night when Sims are asleep, to steal household items. As a longtime Sims player, I have wanted to bring the Burglar to The Sims 4. You could say I’ve been stealing moments to pitch this idea from the very start! ** Even during my job interview, I asked “What would it take to bring the Burglar back?” Now, The Sims team can proudly say the Burglar is back just in time for our 25 th Birthday, shipping alongside The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack. —and trust me, it’s worth the wait. Everything you need to know about the Burglar So, how does the Burglar operate in The Sims 4? Here’s what you need to know. The infamous Robin Banks (yep, that’s her name—we couldn’t resist) only strikes at night, sneaking into your Sim’s home while everyone is fast asleep (or even if they are awake!). Before you know it, she’ll be grabbing whatever’s valuable and making her escape. How to foil that midnight mischief The Burglar can be arrested by the police if one of your Sims calls promptly. For those who want to play it safe, the Burglar Alarm is back too! Place one in your Sim’s home for extra protection because the only way to guarantee the police get to the crime scene in time is by installing a Burglar Alarm. Handy Sims can upgrade the alarm to do all sorts of useful things: automatically call the police, reduce the chance of it breaking, or even zap the Burglar, forcing her to drop the stolen goods. Prefer to handle the situation yourself? No problem—your Sims can take action whether it’s waking up to call the cops (who may or may not catch the thief) or getting into a one-on-one fight, your Sims have options. Pro tip: Sims who’ve been hitting the gym have a better chance of winning those fights! Special Sims can unleash new defenses Stopping the Burglar will feel unique depending on who’s in the household. Special Sims bring even more exciting possibilities. Have a dog? They’ll chase the Burglar right out. (Requires: The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs Expansion Pack) Werewolves can intimidate the Burglar into leaving. (Requires: The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack ) Spellcasters? They’ve got everything from confusion spells to full-on transformations. (Requires: The Sims 4 Realm of Magic Game Pack) Servos can zap the Burglar into place with their defense matrix. (Requires: The Sims 4 Discover University Expansion Pack) Scientists can use the Freeze Ray to immobilize them. (Requires: The Sims 4 Get to Work Expansion Pack) Vampires, of course, might take advantage of the situation for a quick warm-blooded snack before commanding the Burglar to leave. (Requires: The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack) Even Sims without superpowers have fun reactions. Teenagers might stop to take a selfie with the Burglar before bolting to safety. Talk about stealing the spotlight! Iconic characters like Agnes Crumplebottom and Bonehilda won’t run—they’re ready to fight! In total, we’ve included over 50 unique reactions across the base game and 17 different packs, along with 37 player-directed interactions. Who knew a bit of thievery could add so much character to your game? Burglar visits are rare because we want those moments to stand out. But for those of you who thrive on chaos, we’ve got you covered with the new Lot Challenge, Heist Havoc. Turn this on, and not only will the Burglar visit more often, but even trusty Alarms might start acting up. You’ve been warned! We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe. Sending a special shout out to our full team for making this a reality. Robin Banks isn’t just ready to rob your Sims’ houses—she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims 25 th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos Robin Banks will bring to your households. Dag Dag, Xènia FAQ Do I need to own Business & Hobbies to get the Burglar in-game? No, the Burglar update will be available to all Simmers as part of today’s base game update! Is there anything new with how the Burglar works in The Sims 4? There are quite a few new updates with how the Burglar works in The Sims 4! First, there will be updated music accompanying the Burglar when they spawn on your lot. In addition, there is the new Heist Havoc Lot Challenge that will spawn the Burglar on your lot at a higher rate. Similar to before, Burglar Alarms can be installed on Sims’ lots to help keep their belongings safe, but now you can upgrade the alarm to reduce the chance of it breaking, automatically call the police, or even zap the Burglar! In addition, you’ll be able to upgrade your Burglar Alarms so they break less often. In addition, Sims can now take justice into their own hands, and special Sims can unleash their own defenses, as we’ve outlined in our dev diary! Are any new items or functionality coming to the base game to support the Burglar? (e.g. Burglar Alarms, Smart Cameras, etc.) Police Officers will be returning to the game to help tackle those pesky Burglars! You will also be able to install Burglar Alarms on tour Sims’ Residential or Small Business Venue (in the Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack) lots to keep their belongings safe. Is there anything that the Burglar can’t steal? Most build objects cannot be stolen – such as outdoor plants that are planted directly in the ground, windows, lights, elevators, etc. Can you befriend Robin Banks? Yes, you will be able to interact with and befriend Robin Banks! You can even add Robin Banks to your household. If you do this, another Burglar will generate to take Robin’s place, or a Sim that already exists in the world with the right traits who is unplayed can fulfill the role. New burglars will spawn with the same traits but a random appearance and name. Can Robin Banks die? If so, will she regenerate? Yes, Robin Banks can die, and yes, she will regenerate. Similar to Father Winter there will be a new Burglar with similar traits that will be randomly generated if this happens.2.5KViews3likes0CommentsLaundry List - February 18th, 2025

To make this experience unique and entirely your own, Sims can create an infinite amount of custom tattoos in Tattoo Paint Mode. Like real artists, you’ll be able to share your custom designs with other Simmers using the Gallery, or browse for other Tattoos to use in your experience. As Sims level up their Tattooing skill, they can also unlock more stamps and stencils, and increase the odds of excellent results. Tattoos (even ones from previous packs) can now be layered, allowing for multiple tattoos to be placed on the same body part. Mold and Mend Your Future Pottery allows Sims to express their crafty side in new ways. Elevate your Pottery skill with the Pottery Wheel to make decorative and functional pieces, including tea sets, planters of all sizes for our Simmers with a green thumb, incense burners to set an ambiance and so much more. Once the pieces have been created on the Pottery Wheel, players have the option to glaze (there are plenty of colors to choose from) their finished pottery and put it in the Pottery Kiln or leave their pottery unglazed. At higher levels of the Pottery skill, Sims can use the Japanese art of Kintsugi to create beautiful pieces from broken ceramics. The final objects can be gifted or sold at a small business using the new retail surfaces or used to decorate your lot. New Life in Nordhaven Welcome to Nordhaven, a town steeped in history, and full of possibilities for your Sims to pursue their creative hobbies. Hobbies are best when shared, and Nordhaven’s picturesque and inspirational neighborhoods of Gammelvik and Iverstad offer countless opportunities to connect with like-minded Sims who share similar interests and enthusiasm for the things your Sims care about most. Hobby Meetups are the must-attend events to socialize, form new friendships, and even find a mentor to help your Sims master their craft. As Sims advance in their skills, they too can become mentors and pass on their knowledge. Sims can also build their legacy by teaching others in Classes and Lectures. Listening to a Lecture is one of the ways a Sim may earn Mastery Perks – this experience rewards Sims who become highly talented in their selected skills. Your Small Business, Your Way Follow your dreams wherever they take you and create a small business that will leave your Sim feeling fulfilled. Whether it’s creating pottery or other handmade items, or providing a service like tattoos or classes, turn your Sim’s skills into a profitable business. The new Ticket Kiosk offers Sims the freedom to run their business on their terms, with options to charge customers either one time or hourly. You get to make the challenging, but exciting, choice of either running a family business (imagine the drama!) and hiring your entire Sim’s household, or meeting the perfect candidates and offering them a job. The options are endless with the new Small Business system. As you grow your Sim’s business, you’ll earn the ability to choose Business Perks, which include new interactions, effects, and more! Your Sim can run their business by the books or cut a few corners, as they build their Business Renown and decide on their Alignment along the Dreamer, Schemer, and Neutral paths.
