BF4, Steam, and Linux, it works except ping
So I play BF4 on Linux, bought the game though steam and use Valves Proton tool (steam play) so that Windows games can run on Linux. And so far as what I can tell it works flawlessly but there is one problem tough. The ping number on the battlelog is just a "-" and some server are kicking me for it. From what I can find on line, launching the game from your web browser seems be a fix for the problem, but BF4 dose not launch that way. For non-Linux users, steam launches an mini-orgin client that then starts BF4 (and closes it when the game quits). No web browsers or any of that such just strait to the game. Any solution to fixing the problem (or any Linux users found a fix)?
Cant get past User Agreement screen - Battlefield 4 (ps4)
I'm on ps4, downloaded Battlefield 4 for the first time. I cannot get past the User Agreement/ EA's Privacy and Cookie Policy screen. Not responsive to any buttons at all. The loading icon at top right is showing and working. Closing and restarting ps4 does nothing. It appears several others are having this issue on ps4 and pc. Please fix
I made a browser extension that fixes the Battlescreen feature in Battlelog
Hey guys, as most of you probably know, the Battlescreen in Battlelog hasn't worked for a while now. I decided to dig into the code of the Battlelog website to figure out what was going on. It turns out the code for the Battlescreen tries to connect to the game running on your computer in a way that's been blocked in years since by the browsers for security reasons. After some more digging I figured out a workaround and made a browser extension that makes Battlescreen work just fine again! I published it for the Firefox and Chrome extension stores: Firefox Addons Chrome Web Store (Edge and other browser users can install from here too) All you have to do is install the extension and it'll just work, nothing else required. It doesn't even have to be on the same computer you're running the game on, it still works on a different computer on the same network. And unlike some previous suggestions to get it working I've seen posted, you don't have to install any old insecure browser versions or disable any security features. I've also posted the source code on GitLab if anyone is interested in seeing the code. Unfortunately I'm almost certain it won't do anything if you're playing on console, but you can still give it a try (and I'm actually curious to see if anything happens so I would appreciate if someone did try it).
