Friday Highlights - April 4th

The sun is bright, spring has arrived and Friday Highlights are back, what more can we ask? 🌞 Based from the very warm reactions to EA_Solaire's return of Friday Highlights last week, I can tell I'm not the only one who missed those! Let's kick off those highlights with the mention of everybody's favourite angry old lady, Miss Crumplebottom 👵👜. It looks like drkangl7690 has been very patient so far, but everyone eventually hits their limits: she got turned into a vampire after another instance of public rude behaviour! 🧛♀️ And since she still wouldn't behave, she even got frozen by a freeze ray so she could be taught a lesson (and we got a really funny screenshot out of that, which I encourage you to see!). Has Miss Crumplebottom interacted with your sims before? Have you integrated her into your games? Apparently she can become sweet and teach your sims knitting, but she has never grown out of the grumpy phase in my games! 😅 If you are in a reading mood, texansky added a new chapter to the Fields of Gold story. Jade Fields has come a long way, from Bidgeport to an old lodge in Alryne Valley. Her hard work has paid off and she is settling well into the house that is slowly getting lest rusty and renovated. She has found a friend in Elijah the local cat and she has also found love with Shaun, and things are looking very well! 💍 If you want a nice cosy, slice of life story with a Spring vibe, then this story is made for you! We have the perfect place for your sims to enjoy the nice Spring weather with Cevans1962's Jackdaws house, located in San Sequoia. It's very luminous, it includes a spacious kitchen and living room, three bedrooms, a study and a gym. There is a cute patio for your family barbecues, a playground for children, and an adorable front garden that is beautifuly decorated 🌷 Everyone in the household will find what they need, so you should definitely take a look! If you are up for a challenge this week, have a look at what AidenNite10 is proposing: The Sims 4 Restaurant Build Challenge. 🍽️ The rules are simple and allow you to bring out your creativity as long as you don't use any mods or custom content. You don't even need any specific pack such as Dine Out, so I'm curious to see everyone's builds because I'm sure they are all going to look different from each other yet amazing! Finally, vickyloo shares some insight about the game: did you know that when your sim gets hurt, they will end up with a bandage that stays on until the injury is healed? 🤕That's a neat little detail that adds more realism! It's so subtle that you would barely notice it, but it's so rewarding when you do - especially when you've been playing for years! What are other things that you never knew and discovered after a long time? EA_Solaire mentioned the awesome Bayou Bijou World Collaboration in The Sims 3, and this is still going on! There are many new additions to the world and all the builds are very creative. But today, let’s focus on @HidehiHidehi2’s Club Fais Do-Do which looks like the perfect holiday resort for your sims: with bars, dance floors, hot tubs on the roof top, and live music, your sims won’t have time to get bored 💃🎶. It looks stunning and even more impressive at night time with all the lights illuminating the building! 🌃(Your fun language fact of the day: Fais Do-Do in Cajun language refers to a Cajun Dance Party. But in French, it has a completely different meaning: Fais Do-Do means: Go to sleep!) If you need some inspiration to play with the Business & Hobbies pack, BreeMiles may have had the greatest idea of all time with the Pet Hangout Business 🐶🐱. It is not only great for the pets and stray animals roaming around, but also for pet owners who can now enjoy the hangout club in the latest addition! They can share their love of animals and receive help with caring for their friends or getting them cleaned up. We’ve finally made it to another Friday, and more importantly, we’ve made it to Enchanted by Nature launch ✨🧚🏽♀️🌿 Have you all been enjoying the lush and beautiful world of Innisgreen? This story began in the 1890’s, originally following founder Abigail Spencer as she finds love and builds a family of her own. 3 generations later, we’ve now progressed into the 1960’s, and this week’s update focuses on Barbara, Thomas and Betty as they deal with a bathtub stealing burglar and welcome in the newest arrival of generation 4 👶💖 If you’re interested in a historical and emotional story, be sure to check this one out as it moves closer to the 21st century! The Sims is a game full of all kinds of surprises, and mlnov39 wants to know about some of the most unexpected plot twists you’ve encountered in your gameplay. The first (and only) time I ever attempted a Legacy Challenge, my founding Sim had just met a partner to start their family with and had planned a quiet dinner date at home. With Frank and Beans being the obvious choice for a romantic dish, my Sim began cooking, and immediately caught the entire kitchen on fire and died on the spot. And before it had even begun, my Legacy Challenge was over ☠️ But tell us about some of the unplanned twists you’ve run into- have you had any Sims suddenly die and ruin a challenge like me? Early Merry Christmas from Grace… posted here by Armika74 And now, let’s check out the highlights! 🎲 First up, atreya33 is asking you to pick which imaginary friend to choose for a toddler. As part of the Supersim challenge, this toddler needs to grow up and start a family of his own… but first, he has to befriend an imaginary friend so she can turn real and they will start their family together! So this is a pretty important choice: should this little sim befriend Pretty Pegacorn, or Krafty Kid? Krafty Kid will help developing imagination, but Pegacorn might be more fun to hang around with… If you have any suggestions regarding the imaginary friend and their personality, make sure to send them to the thread! 💒 Next, Frn0731 is sharing some wedding fun if you’d like to have a laugh: the planning was tedious (planning a double wedding seems like a lot of work!), the scenes was set, outfits were ready, everything was on track… until the guests arrived, wearing paper bags over their faces. Yes, all the guests. Was it a joke? A stupid prank? They were actually wearing their fancy clothes, so they did put some effort! While it can be a bit disappointing at first, it actually created a funny and unique situation. Everyone will remember this wedding for the years to come! Maybe this will finally give her the courage to kick Geoffrey to the curb and take the power company for herself ⚡🏢 So what kind of shenanigans have you seen in your game with Neighborhood Stories? Have you found any other ruined relationships, or maybe some unfortunate accidental deaths? Tell us all the crazy things that have happened in your game! There are a total of 8 main goals to work towards, each with a minor goal and a special reward. So if you’re wanting to try an eco-friendly version of living off the land, this challenge is just for you! 🚯🗑️ Fall and cozy weather is just around the corner, so let’s settle in with a gameplay story from Addy’s Comfy Corner, written by adwilson. This story follows Addy, an avid collector who dreams of opening her own museum to showcase her extensive collections. This week, Addy is looking to finally complete her frog collection by hunting down the ever elusive death frog. While searching around Ravenwood, she makes some new discoveries and meets some very mysterious folks that lead her on a new quest… So what all will she uncover in this spooky world, and what new collectables will she encounter? Will she ever find out what that strange raccoon in a trench coat wants? Make sure you tune in to find out! 🐸💎 And to finish us off this week, we have one of those most unique gameplay challenges I’ve ever come across, Snob Sim trapped in a mansion (but without a toilet), created by penguinNMPR. This challenge is exactly what it sounds like - you’ll be locking a Sim in a house worth at least $100,000 with no toilets on the lot. You’ll start with no money, and your end goal is to earn enough to purchase the most expensive toilet in the game. But there’s a catch! Your Sim isn’t allowed a full-time job, and can’t leave the lot. You’ll also need to be sure all bills are fully paid, and all existing furniture is in pristine and working condition. Sul sul everyone! Happy Friday! I feel that this week has been busy for everyone. Apparently, this could be explained by September's Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Virgo coming next week, which will supposedly bring life-changing shifts (very ominous) 🌚. So I suggest that we all blame our problems and stress and other shennanigans on the Moon! Sims news were also impacted by the New Moon in Virgo, so buckle up: 🗺️ On Monday, our Quality of Life Roadmap went out with lots of valuable information. 📝 On Tuesday, September's Laundry List also came out with more details about the next bug fixes! 🌴 The Sul Sul Island Meme Challenge was also announced on that day. The perfect place to relax after a busy week… posted here by cchant86 Weekly recap over, let’s move on to the Highlights! 🎵 Let’s kick it off with a question from Sthenastia : What type of music do you play on your community lots? It’s easy to get stuck in a routine, so a little bit of inspiration is always welcome. A lot of you put on music that fits with the theme and the location of the lot; for example Ranch music for Chestnut Ridge, Island Radio for Sulani… It’s a good way to listen to a bit of everything as you’re playing! Apparently, some simmers are playing with the sound off, so that gets rid of the problem. I tend to put on whatever music I want to listen to at that time, whether it fits the theme or not. Lately I’ve been listening to the Spooky radio a lot, because it’s perfect for the season! What about you? Make sure to share some inspiration and let us know in the thread! 🧒 SilverJanSims has noticed that due to deaths occurring to particular sims during neighborhood stories, there have been households left with orphans, and has decided to help them out! Teenagers are being taken by other households to help them out until they grow up, while other parental figures are being created for infants, toddlers and children left with no parents, so that they still have a family to care for them. SilverJanSims is also writing background stories for the orphans, such as Veer Chandran who tragically lost his dad in a fire, before being taken in by his uncle Jim and his wife Britney and their young daughter Neveah. I think it’s a really sweet initiative! 🤗 💪 This week, it's texansky's turn to share some stories from the 112 Day Challenge. For this challenge, you need to play with a sim across the four seasons and help them level up some skills before the next season starts, and we are following the adventures of Marlon as he progresses throughout the seasons. Marlon has been practicing his fishing skills and has been able to catch two big angelfish without bait just before a freezing event which left the lake completely icy. He has been very cautious anyway since he has been collecting lots of seeds and keeping fruits in his inventory. After doing some hours of community service, he came back to the ocean to catch some bigger fish this time. Just looking at all of this makes me feel tired already! 😴 Let’s wish Marlon a strong finish to this great adventure! 🏰 Now this build would be the perfect lot to play Spooky radio: Eldevain Manor by Ennamora. Located in Ravenhood (obviously), this beautiful stone mansion is the perfect place to get cosy during autumn and winter seasons and to tell scary stories by the fire. It contains 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, a spacious living room and study, an old fashioned kitchen ready to be used by cooks, all decorated with taste and gothic elements. The outside with the big orange trees and statues is really impressive and adds to the eerie atmosphere 🍂 It is said that the Manor is haunted by the ghost of Lord Eldevain, so that your sims never feel truly alone… (how lucky) Anyway, it’s ideal for that time of the year, so make sure to check out the build on the Gallery if you’re interested! 📖 Finally, let’s take a trip down memory lane thanks to BylineBelife who was reminded of an older sim that was part of a household years ago, and is asking us now if there are any sims that we feel nostalgic about. For some players, the nostalgia comes from some of their created sims, such as triplet siblings or their favourite couple, and for others it comes from premade sims such as Babs L’Amour who has been there since the beginning of The Sims 4. I still think about one of my favourite sim from The Sims 2: Tomo had an incredible house, the coolest style and had been married several times, so I was never bored of playing with her! I also remember the first pet I adopted in The Sims: Unleashed, which was a little black cat 🥺🥺 What about you, what is the sim or household that is giving you nostalgia?
