The Weekly Grind - March 24, 2026
Welcome back to The Weekly Grind. Let’s get to it! What’s going on? Skate Paddy’s has ended and we’ve released update 0.30.2 to address some bugs and issues. Check the patch notes that dropped yesterday if you missed them. Keep sharing your bug/issues so we can squash ‘em flat. Our Dark Tricks video contest started on Friday, and you have until March 29 to submit your 15-30 second clip to be in the running to win 1 of 15 Year 5/pigeon decks, be featured on skate.Reel website, as well as be featured in our first “skate.Reel Video Vol 1”. Let’s dive right into the calendar. Weekly Calendar Update 0.30.2 Notes Update 0.30.2 is live! The Weekly Grind returns (that’s today) Dark Tricks Video Contest is live - and ends March 29, 2026, so get your 15-30 second clips in now via skate.REEL. Coming Up Isle of Grom Event: Open Access Blog (April 13) Isle of Grom Event: Open Access Event (April 14 - May 5) Update 0.30.5 (April 14) More content from the skate. community! As usual, we wanted to share a few pieces of content that caught our eye. Remember: if you want to possibly be featured in The Weekly Grind, make sure to share yours (screenshots, videos, clips) via skate.reel. Part of The Weekly Grind will be dedicated to sharing current Known Issues the team is tracking for bugs & issues, any active deployments/fixes, and next steps. Fixed in Update 0.30.2: Fixed an issue where popless flip tricks out of grinds can not be performed. Fixed an issue where grind exits on ledges frequently make the skater reattach to the grind. Fixed an issue that prevented some Achievements or Trophies from unlocking correctly. Fixed unintended Pop height and flip speed sensitivity changes. Fixed an issue where the Welcome and Starter Pack bundles in the store accidentally display strikethrough UI. Fixed an issue where players were reset in mid-air after repeatedly bouncing on Quick Drop Objects. Fixed an issue that prevented the the Barrel Jumper title from being awarded to subscribers who got the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Supercharge Pack 3, and PlayStation Plus Essentials Season 3 Play Pack. Developer’s Note: Anyone who’s already redeemed their Xbox or PlayStation subscription rewards will now see this title amongst their Rip Card options after updating skate. Fixed an issue for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One where doing a Held Flip trick mistakenly results in a double trick and then the board adjusts. Fixed an issue where changed settings would reset to their defaults. Developer’s Note: Due to a change in how we store settings, some settings were unintentionally changed in the Update 0.30.1. Players who were affected will need to readjust to their previous settings, but should not have to re-save after this update. With Update 0.30.2, this bug fix should more reliably save changes you make to settings. We’ll continue to monitor this fix closely. Players charged more than once for the Premium skate.Pass. Developer’s Note: We've pushed a back-end fix to stop the double-charge issue some players experienced when purchasing the skate.Premium Pass. We’ve processed refunds of the overcharge to those impacted. We've also added an error message to indicate if you hit this bug. Please reach out to us on the forums if you’re still experiencing this issue. Known Issues Still Being Investigated: Double grind glitches are harder to perform. The Green Machine title is missing from the inventory after being claimed. After purchasing many SVB packs, an error appears during checkout. Seasonal Challenges on Isle of Grom's map are displaying the wrong icon. Workaround: Restarting skate sometimes fixes all or some of the icons. The notification denoting when a friend comes online can randomly trigger multiple times. Rarely when players enter the Store tutorial, the Social Menu accidentally opens instead, and the controller becomes briefly unresponsive. The game sometimes crashes when a fourth player joins your Party. Scrolling through Session Type options in the Throwdowns menu causes descriptions to mismatch with the selections. When travelling as a party to the Isle of Grom, if the party leader has a menu open while the timer is ticking, the timer will get stuck at 0. Workaround: Canceling the queue will resolve this issue. Adjusting your video settings on PC can cause other settings to change. After accepting a skate. party invite via Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, the invite reappears after the player is already in the party they were invited to. Spin degrees in the trick feed are sometimes inaccurate. Graphical glitches are present in the UI on PCs using AMD GPUs. Workaround - AMD: Go to AMD's driver site and find your graphics card from the "Search or Browse Drivers" section. Click on "Previous Versions" and download the one labeled "Adrenalin 25.12.1." Download and Run the AMD Cleanup Utility. Reboot, and then run the Adrenalin 25.12.1 installer. Reboot again and launch the game.330Views2likes0CommentsThe Weekly Grind - March 3, 2026
Welcome back to The Weekly Grind. Let’s get to it! What’s going on? Spring Pop-Off has ended, and we’ve got a week before Season 3 starts. We shared a clip of darkslides on Monday, with more details on Season 3 coming this week (Season 3 blog drops Thursday, March 5, 2026) like updated Replay Editor features, a new skateable area, the return to Isle of Grom, a new mode, and more. We’ve compiled our Show Your Fit screenshot Winners, and we’ll share them below (and they’ll be showing up on skate.reel soon). Weekly Calendar Darkslides Preview on Monday The Weekly Grind returns (that’s today) World Improvments Preview (also today) Season 3 Blog Coming Up Update 0.30.0 Patch Notes Season 3 drops March 10, 2026 Check the Dark slides clip again if you missed it. We mentioned that darkslides and dark catches have been improved since previous games, heres an example of what we fixed in skate. vs skate 3. The board rotation didn't always match the trick into dark slide or catch in skate 3, so now you'll actually get the full trick before catching dark. And the World Improvements we shared earlier today. As usual, we wanted to share a few pieces of content that caught our eye. Remember: if you want to possibly be featured in The Weekly Grind, make sure to share yours (screenshots, videos, clips) via skate.reel. While we love highlighting content from the community (via Discord, Reddit, etc.), we’ll use this space to share the Show Your Fit screenshot contest winners’ pics. Show Your Fit Screenshot WINNERS (currently getting shipping info and will be sending the decks out this week; clips should be up on skate.REEL soon) YT-KAGE HelenaHerewauld Part of The Weekly Grind will be dedicated to sharing current Known Issues the team is tracking for bugs & issues, any active deployments/fixes, and next steps. To Be Fixed in the Coming Weeks: There is an additional stuttering issue present when using the replay editor in-game, noticeable as skipped frames. Progression and rewards for some completed Tasks fail to apply to the player's account. Workaround: Restarting skate fixes this issue, but your Task progress may be lost. The player needs to press the Back button two times for the missions menu to close. The Score with Sequences and Modified Grabs daily and weekly task does not appear for some players and cannot be progressed. Transferring from one Challenge to a Co-op Challenge via invite sometimes results in server disconnection. The Throwdowns queue timer freezes after all other players leave the queue. Lip color and Board Stickers are invisible when running a NVIDIA card on driver 591.44 or newer. Skaters are unintentionally pulled into random co-op challenges. The player gets into a menu state while any narrative VO line triggers with subtitles off. Tweaking skate's. graphical settings can cause the fullscreen resolution to switch to 640x480. Workaround: Rename the %localappdata%\skate\data folder or delete the folders that have numbers in that folder tree. Rarely, when interacting with a player and joining their party, you will accidentally join another player’s party. The Friends fails to load completely on accounts with large amounts of friends. All footplant tricks are incorrectly named when in Regular stance. Known Issues Still Being Investigated: The notification denoting when a friend comes online can randomly trigger multiple times. Visual effects details for the Blaze Costume are missing from the Extravert shop and character menus. Developer's Note: To activate the Blaze Costume's visual effects, you must hit the 4x multiplier in a line. Reboot again and launch the game. Event challenge criteria sometimes fail to update after completion. Sometimes, putting the game on fullscreen and leaving it minimized for three or four minutes will prevent the player from re-opening it until the game is restarted. Community Park tasks sometimes won’t count if you log out while within a Community Park and log back in. Workaround: Use any Fast Travel point and then return to the Community Park. The speech-to-text feature does not transcribe the words correctly.1KViews3likes0CommentsThe Weekly Grind - Nov 4, 2025
Welcome back to The Weekly Grind. Let’s get to it! What’s going on? It’s the final week of Skate-o-Ween and we’re 2 weeks away from the 7-Ply Maple Harvest Event. (We’ve got a mini-blog coming up before the event to give you the deets on what’s happening in San Van for the event, so hang loose.) We’ve also got “the best free gift in the Citadel” coming this Friday. With Daylight Saving Time ending for San Vansterdam on Nov 3, you may have noticed the daily resets happening an hour earlier. Our systems like Daily Resets go off the UTC timezone (it’s called universal for a reason), so the time really didn’t change on the back-end, but for our players who just experienced “Fall Back”, those resets are an hour earlier (9AM PT/ 1700 UTC). Nov 4, 2025 we pushed out a hotfix to address crashing issues on console where the resume feature would cause the game to crash. What we’ve heard Season 1 and our first Seasonal event received a lot of feedback that the team has taken on, from accrual rates of seasonal and event currency to items that can be obtained by spending that currency. The team is working to improve the tuning of the seasonal and event currency, as well as improve the offerings in the seasonal and event rewards. Additionally, we’ve heard feedback regarding the community parks updates for events. We’ve heard your feedback on Season 1 and the first seasonal event, and some changes we’re bringing to Season 2 are: As noted in our Season 1 blog, the first Season in skate. was always planned to be a little shorter, but all future Seasons will have around 100 tiers in the skate.Pass. Through Skate-o-Ween, we learned that the Event economy is not properly balanced and leads to a surplus of event currency that you can't spend. We’re making changes for the 7-Ply event later this month as a result and we’ll continue to evaluate to see if we need to make further adjustments to future events. We’ve got more info coming through a Dev Blog from the team at Full Circle. REMINDER: Free Gift On Oct 31, 2025, we dropped the Lightrunner set for everyone. All you have to do is log in to get the set (before Dec 2, 2025). Softlocks/Stuck Progression- ONGOING The work continues. The team is making progress on the various softlock issues, and we know we’re not done yet. We appreciate your dedication and sticking with us in Early Access as we work through these issues. Make sure to check our official skate_status account on X to keep up-to-date with news and info as it comes out. Keep that content coming! The skate-tshirt-contest has ended, and we’re going through the submissions and will be reaching out to potential finalists, then will work with the dev team to get the winners and start getting those designs in-game. As usual, we wanted to share a few pieces of content that caught our eye. Remember: if you want to possibly be featured in The Weekly Grind, make sure to share yours (screenshots, videos, clips) via skate.reel. Welcome back to The Weekly Grind. Let’s get to it! What’s going on? One week into Skate-o-Ween, and the team is working on more fixes. Mid-season Update 0.28.5 dropped on Oct 23, 2025, and we’re hearing your feedback. What have we heard? We’ve heard your feedback regarding Seasonal and Event progression being too low without enough challenges and the rewards tied to the Seasonal and Event task completion not being that significant. We also hear you about skate.Pass and not being able to earn enough SVB for the next season and we’re looking at adjusting the amount of SVB rewarded in the skate.Pass. The team is taking all the feedback and learning from it, working on some tuning for Season 2 that we’ll be sharing in the coming weeks. Beyond Season 1, we’ve also heard you loud and clear regarding the issues impacting gameplay overall - softlock issues, progression issues, connectivity and stability issues, and how the cosmetic and rewards system works in general. It’s crucial that you know we see and hear your feedback. We’ll have more information to share soon on the next steps, but it’s crucial for us to ensure you know that you’re being heard. Free Gift If you didn’t notice, in the skate.Pass images we had an asset that included a white Haru shirt that was not actually available to unlock/earn. We fixed the asset, but wanted to do more. So on Friday, October 31, we’re granting everyone the Lightrunner set that includes the white long-sleeved Haru shirt, the striped baseball cap, and the white high-top shoes. For free, for everyone with skate.Pass Premium. You’ll just have to log in to get them. Skate-o-Ween Weekly Task Progression Fix On Monday, we pushed a fix that allows you to run any of the previously completed challenges again: "Witch's Brew", "Spider Bait", and "Heathen Flip". This update enables you to complete the challenge goals and receive all the Week 1 rewards. Additionally, we're disabling the "Basinator" Challenge due to the objective "Perform a single flip trick and 360 into the Fountain" not consistently tracking. Softlocks/Stuck Progression- ONGOING As shared last week, the team continues to push fixes for softlock issues, but more details are needed if you’re still experiencing a stuck progression issue. If you haven’t yet, make sure to share your details on the Mega Thread as we need to fix these individually for the time being. We appreciate your dedication and sticking with us in Early Access as we work through these issues. Make sure to check our official skate_status account on X to keep up-to-date with news and info as it comes out. Keep that content coming! REMINDER! On October 20th, we launched our first skate.
