Game keeps crashing with and without mods
HI! I am having trouble playing any save file because the game keeps crashing after a certain amount of time, sometimes even on start up or traveling but it will always crash no matter what eventually. I cleared my cache file, and i also repaired the game. I have tried with new save files as well as my old one and with and without mods, it always crashes regardless. I am scared that this means my entire game is corrupted and unfixable besides losing everything and reinstalling. I will attach the last crash report. Is there something i'm missing? Can't load any lots
I'm having issues loading into any lots in my game. It just loads and then does the music when it's about to put you in but then continues with the load screen. I've removed all mods, deleted the cache, repaired the game and it still won't work. I have also loaded a much older save and this is having the exact same issue but with the following error message: How do I sort this? I don't know what to do.Help! Sims 3 won't start
This is my first time posting, I'm desperate and hoping someone here has faced this before or knows a workaround. I've been locked out of my Sims 3 base game and expansions (which I've owned for 9 years) The Situation: The Tech Glitch: My game used to work fine on my old laptop and worked around 4 times on my new laptop. Now, when I click "Play" in the EA App, a sign-in pop-up appears, but there is NO place to type my password. Just a grey screen asking me to sign into an EA account even though I'm signed in at the start of the game, in the EA app, online into EA. Missing Expansions: Before it froze, only 3/5 of my packs showed up in "Expansions and Stuff," even though the EA App said they were downloaded in Add ons. Origin instruction: When I uninstalled the EA App to try running it directly, the launcher asked me to open via Origin, not EA. This feels like a migration error. The Support Nightmare: After spending 8 hours with 9 different agents, they finally told me a payment from May 25, 2017 is "not validated," so my whole game is locked. They wouldn't tell me WHAT item the payment was for. They refused to let me play just the base game even after I said I didn't care about the missing packs. Confusing Advice: One agent kicked me out of the chat and said "Go ask Steam support." BUT I don't own the game on Steam! I never linked my accounts. The game is clearly on the EA App/Origin. Impossible Demand: They told me to go find a bank statement/receipt from 10 years ago to prove I paid. (PayPal and banks don't keep those easily accessible!). Why I think this is a BUG, not fraud: I found a receipt from June 2017 for the University Life Pack, but the packs failing are Pets and Seasons. Blocking the base game over a dispute for a different DLC seems wrong. Plus, the "Login window with no text box" looks like a known software glitch. If anyone can help it be greatly appreciated, thank you. I've attached the sign in page that opens.62Views0likes1CommentCannot Load Home Lot
So, I play with mods; I've done everything. I've done the 50/50 method; no results. I've cleared my cache; no results. I've removed all mods (down to CC) and tried loading it; no results. The issue? I cannot load the lot my family is living on. I started having infinite loading screens/crashes about 2 weeks ago in this save file; all my mods were up to date after the most recent update. It was working fine; I could play my Sims on their home lot with no problem. They travelled to a bar, I played there no problem, then I saved, and it crashed. I was frustrated but tried again; similar situation, it crashed. I loaded an earlier save when one of my Sims was at Willow Creek Hospital, and could play as her no problem, but when trying to switch to my other sim who was at the home lot/ or trying to send the sim home after, infinite loading screen. I've moved them to empty lots in other worlds, and they load into those fine, but this one lot (in San Sequoia) won't load under any circumstances. I've looked on Reddit, the forums, Facebook, everywhere possible for an answer - I really don't want this to be a corrupt save file situation because everything else about the file seems fine, but I worked hard on the house and want to download it and move it to a different lot if the lot itself is just a corrupt lot. It's a regular household lot. I have mods (they are all up to date, but have been taken out for now); I've repaired my game, uninstalled/reinstalled, updated drivers, loaded earlier files, moved the Sims before trying to enter build mode on that lot (through Manage Worlds), and NOTHING is working. TLDR: My Sims house lot won't load, can't figure out why, and I've done all the troubleshooting I can think of. If anyone can help or direct me to somewhere that can, it would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: I was frustrated trying to figure out the problem, so I ended up deleting the save files and going back to a previous save file that allowed me to load into my household. Here's the issue: while playing, I was able to travel, save, build, etc, no problem! But now, I tried to open my game again, and the same issue is happening. Keep in mind, the only changes I've made are restarting from an earlier save point (lost about 4 Sims days) and then exiting my game. The Sims 4 — Save Failure After February 2026 Patch
Since installing the most recent February 2026 update for The Sims 4, the game has completely lost the ability to save progress. Gameplay appears normal while playing, but every time the game is closed and reopened, all progress is reset to a state from before the update. This occurs consistently and makes the game effectively unplayable. The problem started immediately after updating and has persisted without interruption. Before the February 2026 patch, saving worked correctly. The timing strongly suggests a direct connection between the update and the loss of save functionality rather than random file corruption. Extensive troubleshooting has already been performed following EA standard support guidance. All mods and custom content were fully removed and the game was tested in a completely vanilla state, yet the issue remained. Cache files, including localthumbcache and all cache folders, were deleted with no change. A full clean reinstall was then completed. The entire Sims 4 folder in Documents was removed, the game and all packs were reinstalled, the game was launched to generate a fresh user folder, and both brand new saves and previous saves were tested. In every scenario, the game still cannot save gameplay progress at all. Because the failure occurs on a clean installation with a newly generated user folder and no mods present, local corruption or user configuration issues can be ruled out with high confidence. The behavior matches a save write or persistence failure sometimes associated with Error Code 21 type conditions, where the game appears to function but cannot properly store progress to disk. However, unlike typical isolated save corruption, this failure affects newly created saves as well, which indicates a broader problem potentially introduced by the February 2026 patch. Community reports describing damaged or non persistent saves after the same update further support the likelihood of a patch level regression rather than an individual system fault, although only EA can definitively confirm this. The impact is critical because the core gameplay loop depends on saving progress, and there is currently no workaround despite complete reinstall and clean environment testing. For this reason, investigation by EA is required to determine whether the February 2026 update introduced a defect in save persistence, save file compatibility, or local cloud synchronization behavior. Please advise whether this issue is known, whether the update may have affected save integrity, and whether a fix or workaround is planned. I am available to provide logs, system specifications, or additional testing if needed.4.3KViews14likes24CommentsCan’t load into saves
Hello! When wanting to play my usual household today it was like I had started a new save file, having to choose the season again and not having any of my sims in any world. So I closed the game again and tried to play almost every saved game/households but none of them worked. I thought it might be a mod/cc problem but I took them all out of the game and it still didn’t work. I also took out all my saves, repaired the game multiple times, and put them back in again. At some point I couldn’t even load into a new world cus I was stuck in the loading screen. My game worked just fine yesterday and it updated in the morning today and that’s when the issue started. Did anyone have the same problem before and if yes what did you do to repair it? Or if anyone has some tips please let me know! Thank you beforehand ^^SolvedAll Of My Saves & CC is gone and My Game Has Reset Back To The Welcome Page!!
Hello, i would like to preface that i am very, very bad with technology so i do apologise if i come across as stupid! Another small thing is that when i first downloaded cc i organised them into different folders because a youtube video told me that it would be helpful for finding and deleting broken cc. My game was working fine a few days ago but my cc was bugging out and making one of my infants glitched to the feet of another sim. I did what i always do which is move some of my cc into a different folder to go back and forth between my game and my file explorer to find the broken cc. I moved all of the cc in my "Build Buy" folder into my documents folder to do that and it was working perfectly fine in game but when i started to go through to move and delete some of this cc my game changed to a welcome screen. Not only that, none of my cc is in my game anymore despite still being downloaded and all of my save files are gone. One weird thing is that i ended up with the sims (ea folder) in my documents and when i tried to move it all back to my build buy folder (assuming that's where if came from) but it didn't move. Is this fixable, if so how? i'm not even sure what i did. I'm in desperate need of help!33Views0likes0Comments
