Broken and Updated Sims 4 Mods and CC: patch 1.122, March 17, 2026 and hotfixes
About This Thread This thread tracks Sims 4 mods and CC that have been "broken" or made obsolete by game update 1.122, March 17, 2026, and the March 18 and March 23 hotfixes, or declared unsupported by their creators. Still can't launch the game with CC after 3/23 update
Even though this was supposedly fixed and I downloaded the update for it, I still can't play the game if I have CC. I even double checked that I had the most update version number. I have tried everything I could think of to try to fix it, I have tried: Making a clean Sims 4 folder/Mods folder Setting exceptions in Windows Defender Updating graphics drivers Disabling game mod and game bar Forced DX9 mode Making a new admin Windows account And I already had OneDrive uninstalled. I seriously don't know what I'm supposed to do at this point.
Having trouble loading the new update
Hello, has anyone else been having problems loading their game with the new update? Build mode and live mode refuse to load and idk what to do. I’ve got a lot of mods (better build buy, etc) maybe that’s the problem. I also recently downloaded the life and death pack. Hope someone can help me out, i don’t want to have to uninstall the game. Broken Update 03-23-26
I was having the black screen issue since the update. Now as for the new patch (March 23rd) it seems I am at a loop after I choose my location and place home on lot. I played for 60 minutes. Then, I restart Sims 4 but I'm stuck at the world screen map and I cannot go to household lot. Anyway, I tried updated scripted mods, 50-50 method vanilla and repair. Nothing works!

Hi EA, not sure if this has been reported as I could find nothing on it in the forums. 'The game failed to load. Error Code: 123.20ece5dd:8de7a7da. It is recommended that you relaunch the game.' I googled and did what it says to do but final result is that my game crashes. I use minimal mods since I was one of the unfortunate ones who continuously got the Failed to Launch error and very few of my mods or cc would allow my game to load. Since the fix I've only put back a few of my favorite mods and a smaller portion of cc. The first time we crashed I had planted a bush at the restaurant hoping my sims would woohoo but when I tried to get them to use it the game did not show any woohoo options, got an error that they could not find an adequate place to woohoo, and we crashed shortly after I had attempted numerous times. I love just being silly with game play however since the latest 'failed to launch' fix, the game is now like noooo, you can't do that anymore. I've had sims steal my food after I had ordered a drink or food at the different fests we've gone to, so yesterday while on a date as the waitress took foreverrrrr to bring our food, I decided to steal food from a table where the people must have gone outside for a smoke or something. I went into build mode, which was readily available, did not have to enter any cheats, all was good, got the food to my table, went out of build mode, instructed my sims to eat it and the game just stood still. Not a single staff member at the restaurant was moving, nobody was doing a thing, I had no control of anything, so I opted to go to Manage World, came back again, and game crashed. Tried again after reloading the game because it's just funny stealing food, remember they did it to us first! Again, game was like noooo, that fun is over lady LOL. Is it a bug? possible mod conflict? I really hope silliness is not over in my game LOL! Thanks EA!!
error at launch
i updated my game on the 17th, broken. updated my game again today the 23rd, still broken. my only mod is cas custom content. this update was supposed to fix that. when i try to play i get the error to launch pop up. i have tried repairing it multiple times as well. i just want to play my game.
Just updated the game today
I took a chance and foolishly felt safe to update after seeing reports from other simmers that it was safe to update. I acknowledge the risks with playing with mods, I know I should have just stayed offline, in fact it was better to do so so I wouldn't have to deal with the marketplace stuff being in my face. I did everything I was supposed to. I took my mods and cc out, updated the game, deleted the cache, launched the game, exited the game, deleted the cache again, let the game generate a new resource file and mod folder, updated all of my mods, moved them into the new mod folder. I launched the game with my mod folder out of the game, went to options to enable mods and mysteriously it was already enabled. I thought, hmm, that's weird. I exited the game without saving, put my fresh and updated mod folder back into the game, and then launched it again. Bald sims. I went into options to double check that script mods are enabled, it was still checked off. I clicked "view mods and cc" and see it is empty. I didn't panic until I exited the game to check my actual mods folder. IT WAS EMPTY!!!!! THIS UPDATE DELETED THE MAJORITY, NEARLY ALL, OF MY CC AND MODS! Years of collecting, meticulous updating, care, passion.....GONE! This update ruined my game! I also acknowledge it is my fault for not backing my mods folder up, so that is on me. BUT THE GAME SHOULD NOT HAVE DELETED IT TO BEGIN WITH! In all of my years of playing this game, all the money I've thrown at it....nothing like this has happened!!! I'm mad at myself, but I'm even more angry with these UNNECESSARY marketplace additions that broke it all to begin with! I doubt this post gets attention from EA and there's nothing they can do about it, but I TRULY HOPE THAT SOMEONE READS THIS WHO IS ON THE FENCE ABOUT UPDATING. DON'T DO IT!!!! I am DEVESTATED!!! OH. And since I didn't update during the dreaded marketplace crisis last week, I was not affected by the failure to launch catastrophe. This hotfix that was supposed to "fix" that....Yeah, the hotfix doesn't even work because I received the error message everyone was talking about. My game did, indeed, fail to launch. Had to jump through hoops to bypass that. That didn't bother me, I figured it was just one of those things to power through. BUT LOSING MY CC AND MODS?? My most beloved sims and builds, GONE?! NOOOO! Well, basically gone. Sure, the shells of them will be there, but you know what I mean. I don't care about the marketplace! I want my cc back!! 😭😭Sims Bug
When I go on the sims I can only create sims. This has been happening since the the new market place update. I do also have mods but it isn't them because they were working before the market place update. When I have made my sims I go to select a lot and it shows me loading into my lot then kicks me out onto the world select screen and a blue flashing box pops up with a random error code. I don't know if you will be able to do anything but I just thought I would let you know. If it is needed my sims name is ilovethesims2301.
