modded ts4 repeatedly crashing my laptop since last year :(
hi everyone! since last november, my sims 4 game has been freezing at random moments, then crashing my entire laptop. just today, it has crashed 6 times. it also takes forever to load in. i've repeatedly updated my mods/cc. i've 50/50'ed my folder. i've organized everything with the help of mod manager. i've done batch fixes. i've taken out everything except for what i need for my save. when i remove my mods folder, the game loads quickly, but i don't play it long enough to see if it crashes. i definitely suspect it's some cc, but when i put it back and 50/50, nothing happens? i'm so confused. does anyone have any suggestions on how to finally figure out what's going on?
Build buy mode glitching
since the last update, build buy is glitching. i’ll go to place or delete things, it’ll make the noise, and then take anywhere from 10-15 seconds to show up. or it’ll delete three objects then glitch. not sure which mod or cc is causing this, and really do not want to 50/50 my files considering i have quite a few. any idea which mod is causing it?Should I update?
I have managed to avoid updating the game since prior to the Marketplace update. Is the game in a stable enough position that I should update now before the major May update that's coming? Or should I keep my game in a pre-Marketplace state? I do use mods and custom content, but I don't need any new ones at the moment, so they can hang in a frozen pre-patch state as well until I update. I would be concerned if there are still mod or cc related issues floating about.
The Sims 4 fails to launch when Custom Content is installed
Hello, I’m experiencing an issue with The Sims 4 where the game will not launch if Custom Content (CC) is present in the Mods folder. Here is a detailed description of the problem: When I launch the game through the EA App with CC installed, the app minimizes as if the game is about to start After a few seconds, it returns to the EA App without launching the game No error message or code appears However: When I completely remove all CC from the Mods folder, the game launches and runs normally without any issues Troubleshooting steps I have already tried: Repaired the game through the EA App Removed all Mods and CC and confirmed the game works without them Cleared cache files for both EA App and The Sims 4, including: localthumbcache.package cache folder cachestr folder onlinethumbnailcache folder Reinstalled The Sims 4 completely Reinstalled the EA App Launched both EA App and the game as Administrator Restarted my computer multiple times during the process Verified that Mods/CC are enabled in game settings (when the game does launch without them) Additional notes: The CC I am trying to use previously worked without any issues The issue started recently, and I did not intentionally change any settings The problem occurs consistently every time CC is added back into the Mods folder At this point, it seems that any presence of CC prevents the game from launching at all. I Been waiting for a Mod and CC to be available on Patron for free
There is a couple mods still locked one from December 18 but one for December 1st isn’t locked but the mod I wanted to download is still locked the creator has updated the mod recently but hasn’t released it for free on patron the first part the mod came out on January 28 and the the update had different updates one for the hotfix but the recent one is 3 days ago the creator is SIXAM CC on patron I messaged them on there patron account twice I never gotten a answer the first time was in March the second was today I don’t want to get them in trouble but usually the paid early access time is between 2 to 3 weeks I think or a month but it’s been more than that now they added 3rd part of the mod plus a update most of there mods are unlocked but I don’t really know there early access time frame I love to know for future mods I downloaded from them
Custom content not showing in game
I am having the issue where my custom content isn't showing in game. I don't have any mods, just CC hairs/some makeup and clothes and all of them seem to be missing. I tried a couple of the solutions given in a previous forum (checking user pathway, removing and re-adding CC one by one, new folder, deleting Resource file etc.) but none of these seem to be working and all of the CC won't show up ( I downloaded a CC hair today that doesn't show up) I never had this issue with the initial update that seemed to cause this problem for a lot of people and was able to play the game with all my CC as normal and it just seems to be after the latest game update. I was wondering if there were any other solutions/possible fixes I could try or if anyone else was having this issue? Thanks!
All my builds are gone
I was downloading CC and when I went back into my game all of my builds (except for the one I was most recently working on) are all gone. I've downloaded CC from these websites before, nothing sketchy ,at least I don't think. I deleted all the cc downloaded today and everything is still gone. This happened to me already once before, luckily I had recently made a copy of my Sims 4 file so I was able to copy over my saves from that. Unfortunately, that copy is 2 months old and I would be losing so much progress on several of my builds. I don't know whether it's corrupt save files or something to do with the game itself but I am absolutely DEVASTATED. Edit: I just found out about the most recent April 16th update, this might have something to do with that, but chances are it probably doesn't"Program Not Responding" Message
Every other time i download CC and add it to the game, when i go to launch it itll freeze at the sims4 screen and then "program not responding" will pop up and i have to end the program. Is this due to creators not updating their CC??? and if so, why are so many creators not updating their items??? it really is upsetting to see so many good items be broken. I hope this isnt the case if anyone knows anything please let me know thank you.
Accessory glitch with eyes
Hey everyone! I've been having an issue with character where every time I put on a hat, handbag, or other types of accessory it creates a weird design around my eyes with the design of the item im putting on. I believe it's a glitch or a broken cc but i'm not sure how to solve It. It's been happening for weeks.
Unable to play with script mods
I have been having this issue for over SIX MONTHs. It started on my old computer, because I had no RAM on it, then I got a new computer (Alienware aurora or smth like idfk) and I was able to play with script mods for a little bit then one day it started doing it again. What happens is that it will load normally, then gets stuck on the manage worlds screen. It even happens if I have don't have any script mods downloaded, just having them enabled is what causes the issue, but I have no idea how to fix it, I've tried everything. I completely wiped my computer of any sims or mods files, redownloaded the sims 4, and the issue is still ongoing. I have spent so much money on this **bleep** game over the course of almost three years and I'm not just going to stop.
PLEASE HELP! game keeps crashing after exiting CAS
current game version: 1.121.372.1220 playing on a mac desktop that hasn’t been updated due to storage if that matters lol. tons of cc & mods, about 10,000 files/packages im new to playing on pc/mac & cc, mods etc. any mod thats free to download i pretty much have installed in my game lol. hi, im currently playing offline due to people saying the new update(s) caused issues so since the feb/march update i have been playing offline. but about 2 days ago i got a notification while playing saying to “log back in” because the ea app no longer recognizes me so i was forced to update the EA app. i, again, didn’t update the sims 4 game so i just continued playing offline. i was fine playing up until i’d say 11:30 pm april 17 to today (1 am currently). i was in CAS just fine, added a shirt to my sim then exited CAS just fine. then i downloaded chingyu’s 100 traits mod, loaded my game late yesterday, went into CAS & added some traits to the current household i was playing with. exited CAS where my game then crashed. i figured it was the chingyu mod (people said their game was working fine so i decided to try..) so i removed it & downloaded a mod from a different creator (traits mod by klimter & maplebell also morekisses mod by maplebell) did the same thing, went into CAS, left then crash. removed all of those new mods i downloaded & the same thing happened :( i really dread having to do the 50/50 mod especially now that i have over 10k files of mods & cc. if i do then so be it. but i genuinely don’t know what the issue is. i also got a LE each time i loaded into that save “Server\objects\components\fishing_location_component.py” i have no idea what that means. no broken mods were listed nor did it say why & what mod or cc caused it, if it did i again dont know how to read it. :( struggling trying to understand the LE texts & cant send these problems into any discord server due to “outdated game version” which is understandable, but again theres been issues with the recent update & i haven’t updated my mods since the feb or march update. if i need to send the lastcrash.txt, gameversion or any LE scripts please let me know! if anyone knows what causes this or why its crashing please help!!! any help would be appreciated!! thank u in advance. <3
help with game prob
HI ! i started playing sims recently and since i play xenoverse 2 modded i wanted to try to play with mods on sims too and since i started i'm having fun but i'm currently strugling with a problem, i'm installing some mods and allat but for some reasons when i enter construct mode my game freezes, like i can move my mouse but i can't save can't go to menu, i do can move my camera butt it's juts impossible to quit construction mode, i looked around to see if i could get help and saw that the localthumbcache file when deleted could solve these kind of problems so i deleted the file from my folder and at first it seemed to work i could modify my house and buy thing and etc but when i try to exit the construction mode same thing happens game freezes... Help pls..CC not showing up in game after March update
Hello, I have recently been trying to play my sims game. At first, my game was failing to launch so I went in and updated every single mod I have, and it launched again. My loading screen, font, and main menu replacement all loaded in fine. However, my sims cc did not load. I'm wondering how to fix this issue. I really would like to start up my game again, but I don't understand why my other mods are loading in but not my cc. Thanks
I got this message after the recent update
I got this message after I did the recent update, but I can't even get in the game to see what I can and can't do. I don't know why this happened after the update, but I do seem to get this type of message after the updates happen. I don't know if it's just me that it happens to, but I seem to get it with or without CC added to my game.
