The Core Problem: Artificial Drama (Scripting/DDA) The game frequently exhibits moments where the underlying mechanics appear to favor goals during specific, non-random periods, particularly around the 45th and 90th minutes (plus injury time). This is not about the drama inherent in real football, but the perception that the game engine temporarily overrides player control and physics predictability to inject forced drama. This manifests in two deeply frustrating ways: Defensive AI Paralysis: In these crucial late-game moments, user-controlled defenders and goalkeepers often become momentarily unresponsive, misposition themselves, or fail to execute simple actions (like clearing the ball). Attacking Input Buffs: Conversely, the attacking team's passes become impossibly precise, shots defy physics, and the ball magnetically snaps back to the attacker during tackle attempts (the "rebound loop"). Instability of Core Mechanics: Dribbling and Passing Beyond the late-game momentum, the fundamental actions of playing football—dribbling and passing—suffer from constant inconsistency due to your ongoing tinkering and updates: Dribbling Fluidity: The feeling and responsiveness of player control while dribbling changes frequently with patches. This constant instability prevents players from mastering the subtle art of player movement and touch, as the mechanics they learned one month are often altered the next. We require a stable, predictable, and fluid model for close control. Passing Consistency: The inclusion of random, unpredictable elements designed to make passing harder feels detrimental to competitive play. We value skill in choosing the correct pass, angle, and power; however, the game frequently sabotages well-executed passes with random inaccuracies. Passing accuracy should be a direct, consistent reflection of player stats, input quality, and tactical situation, not a function of a hidden difficulty modifier. The Competitive Contradiction A truly competitive game must maintain a neutral and predictable physics engine from the first whistle to the last. We want the pressure of the 90th minute and the challenge of high-level dribbling to make us make mistakes, not for the game to force our AI-controlled players to fail or our controlled players to misfire. Our Request We urge the development team to prioritize the following: Engine Neutrality: Ensure the physics and AI behavior remain consistent regardless of the match time or score line. Eliminate coded "drama" spikes. Core Mechanic Stability: Define and commit to a stable, highly responsive model for dribbling and passing. Future updates should focus on balancing, not fundamentally altering, the core feel and consistency of player control. We believe that returning to a pure, skill-based foundation—one that rewards mastery of stable, predictable mechanics—is essential for the long-term health and integrity of EA SPORTS FC as an esport and a competitive title. The state of this game has gone beyond a joke. So many issues with gameplay but my main one is defending. I’ll admit I’ve never been the best at defending, but my god, there is absolutely no manual defending in this game whatsoever, standing tackles might as well not even exist as they just never connect, even though both of my cb’s have 88 stand tackle & bruiser base. Rumours are that they’re dumbing down defensive AI in the upcoming patch, what defensive AI? So many times I’ll be controlling the cdm but when the ball gets to their attacker my cb’s will just move in the god **bleep** opposite direction of the player with the ball instead of closing them down! if they do dumb down the AI then I hope they’ve done something to manual defending because it’s just not in the game at all. How is possible that I’ve been 2 months with a bug that I can’t sell my UT cards and NO ONE DOES NOTHING.. The counter has been stuck on '24 hours' for over A MONTH. I need you to manually sync my market cap from the server because it doesn't reset automatically. I’m member of EA play, I bought the game and this is ruining my experience in the game . Hey guys. I know it is FC 26 time, but i still play FC 25. Or just want to play. I had the AC high cpu usage problem, but found a way to fix it earlier. But now i had to re-install everything and can't use that method anymore. I only want to play Career mode as ever earlier and makes me sick that cannot play the game smoothly because of the AC. How is it possible to play a game (that’s meant to be fair) where you never win a tackle, because the ai does a skill past you or shields the ball (but you can’t do that becuase they make an inch perfect tackle - small or tall, strong or not - and win the ball back). That’s only one thing. The amount of heavy touches my players have in order for the ai to win the ball back is incredible. but the ai don’t get that, oh no they NEVER have that happen to them. Every touch for them is perfect, whether it be to turn past my player or to get past my entire defence. Defending is broken. My defenders CONSTANTLY drift to create a nice gap for the ai to run right through and score and there’s nothing i can do. i cant even switch the correct player to even try and get him back in the same position because the player switching mechanic is also broken. And how are the ai players all so fast. no matter how much pace they have, they are always 100% either going to catch up to my fit, pacer winger, or go on a run down the wing where not a single one of my players can catch him. 84 pace against 53 pace and yet the ai - who’s nearly dead come the end of the game - outpaces him still. It’s broken and pathetic. Will certainly not be buying fc26 until proven it’s been upgraded and actually works like a proper game - one a person can actually enjoy. Seen good things but still hasn’t changed my mind. They talk a good game every year but never change it and i believe next version will be no different. Hi, I’d like to report an issue that’s negatively affecting gameplay in FIFA Ultimate Team. Many players are using the “rubber band method” — where they tie a rubber band to their controller to trigger constant joystick movement. This prevents them from getting kicked for inactivity, even though they’ve clearly stopped playing. It’s especially frustrating when this happens early in a match. For example, I was winning 3–0 in the 15th minute, and instead of quitting, my opponent just activated the rubber band method and left their controller. I then had to sit through the rest of the match with no actual gameplay. This kind of behavior: Creates a boring and frustrating experience, Wastes time for players who are actually playing, And undermines the competitiveness of FUT matches. I’d love to see EA implement a smarter AFK detection system that identifies and disconnects players who are using this trick. Even a pattern of repeated, non-engaging inputs should be enough to trigger a warning or auto-forfeit. For the first time since fifa 13 I genuinely have no idea how to play this sorry excuse for a football game. I honestly need someone to explain the point of even having tackles/defenders in the game, because they do less than nothing. I’ve tried adapting my way of playing, every sort of formation/tactics but nothing works, it’s also gotten to the point where I’m constantly having to control at least one of my cdm’s so they’re actually in the cdm position I’ve set it to play, seems to be no point in trying to make a challenge for the ball and instead cut off passing lanes and wait for an interception, which speaking of interceptions, are insanely op’d even more so than last FIFA’s it seems. passing still has major issues, I can’t connect a simple 5/10 yard pass to create space, yet 70/80 yard lobs are done with laser guided, pinpoint accuracy with no issue at all? You do the math on that one. we’ve also been crying out for years to have the matchmaking sorted which, once again, hasn’t been addressed. With rewards being as terrible as they are in this game, we’re now seeing people purposely drop down divisions just so they can get easy wins. I’ve been a div 3/4 player in past titles but now struggling to even get out of div 7, I’ll admit I’m not the best player but I should not be struggling as much as I seem to be. I just played a friendly match, and it was truly disgusting. I curse the day I paid to buy this game. They can't figure out a single trick. Look at the pictures I posted; the substitutions are -8.
