[PC] Possible workarounds for Mass Effect Legendary Edition launch problems.
If the game does not start for you, there are several possible workarounds: Notice: Mass Effect Legendary Edition will not run on Windows 7. LE1 & LE2 will not run on CPUs with only 2 physical or logical cores. (You need 4 logical cores.) If you changed the global settings inside the "Manage 3D Settings" panel of the NVIDIA control panel anytime in the past, look at this post. Disable "Controlled folder Access" of the Windows defender. Disabling OneDrive PC folder backup. Corruptions in the "License" folder might also keep the games from starting. Make sure Origin and Steam are closed. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time Copy and paste C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services into the new window > hit ENTER. Move the "License" folder to your Desktop > Test. A overprotective Virus scanner or other security software could also block the access to game files. (If you use "Sophos Home Premium" or other Sophos products look at this post and this post .) Disabling Bluetooth on some motherboards fixed the issues for some players as well. The Nahimic audio service, which is installed with the Realtek audio drivers from some motherboard manufacturers like MSI or Asus, causes many problems, and here it does too, it seems. (The Realtek stand alone audio drivers normally don't have the Nahimic software installed.) ROG's Sonic Radar 3 is one of the apps that uses it. If you use a VPN, look at this post. Check if the regional settings of your EA account (not EA app) is set right . If you have the game on Steam and it will only launch EA app but not the game, a possible cause is in this thread. (Warning! This requires some deeper computer knowledge.) Fixed: If you have a Windows user name with special characters in it: Either: create an new Windows user account with only ASCII characters in it. > Reboot > Log on to the new account > Test. Or: Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. Type or copy and paste "control" into the new window. (Without the quotes) > Hit ENTER. Choose "Region" > Administrative Tools > Change Locale > Check "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support" > klick "OK" Reboot > Test. This issue was fixed with Patch 1.03 It looks like the game requires a CPU with AVX instruction set It turned out that only the Launcher needs the AVX instruction set. Almost all CPUs built for end consumer use in the last 10 years have this instruction set. However, if you are not sure, you can check the technical specifications of your CPU on the manufacturer's website. If you have this problem, in this post by is a workaround for the problem. (As always, use third party tools at your own risk.) This issue was fixed with Patch 1.0355KViews48likes448Comments[Old Thread] Unable to kill the architect

Greetings Commanders! For the Legendary Edition launch a small tool has been created to help convert your old ME 2 and ME 3 face codes to Legendary Edition-compatible codes. This link will bring you to Google Drive where you'll find a small program you can download and unzip. Be sure to check the PleaseRead file first, then you can run MassEffectFaceCodes.exe. We encourage you to verify the Electronic Arts, Inc digital signature before proceeding. This tool will then allow you to enter your Mass Effect 2 or Mass Effect 3 face codes for use in Legendary Edition character creation. Feel free to share your converted face codes here, show off your beautiful, handsome or "characterful" Shepards for the world to see. Note: In some cases codes will not match 100% to your original Shepard due to changes in the content and you may have to adjust some settings manually in the character creator.32KViews20likes14CommentsAntialiasing Bug on Ultrawide Monitors
Hello, ME1 in the new ME: Legendary edition has an issue with ultrawide monitors, specifically in a resolution of 5120x1440. When antialiasing is enabled, the left-hand side of the screen has a "ghosting" image from what is being displayed on the far right hand side of the screen. Disabling AA fixes the issue, but hopefully we'll have a proper fix soon. See the attached screenshot for details.Solved30KViews13likes29CommentsCan we change appearance and class when importing Mass Effect Legendary Edition?
First of all: love the game. I have one request to the devs though. When importing a character from one Mass Effect game to another in the Legendary Edition can we have the option to change Shepard's appearance? People change over time, get new haircuts, hair dyes, makeup styles. It would be nice to do this mid-game too, but first I'll ask not to skip the character editor at the beginning. It would also be nice to be able to change class at the beginning too. Maybe between ME1 and ME2 Sheppard stopped practicing her shooting skills and started working on biotic abilities. By the time ME2 starts she could be a capable adept in biotics. People get new skills over time. Five years ago I was a sales assistant, but now I've become pretty skilled in web design. People change and Shepard should be able to change too.ME2 achievements already unlocked?
I'm playing on PC, using EA Desktop beta. I just finished ME1 in the Legendary Edition, and imported the character into ME2. To my surprise, I found that I could select any of the bonus powers that are normally unlocked by gaining the loyalty of your squad. I also got all of the "previously played ME2" bonuses, including extra XP, resources, etc. Curious, I went to look at the achievements menu in the game, and all of the achievements are already unlocked. Now I did play the original ME2 before, and unlocked all the achievements there. Is it possible that the ME2 Legendary Edition somehow took the state from that? The original ME2 is not currently installed on this PC. That explanation doesn't quite explain everything, though, since even the "cross-game" achievements such as Insanity I, II and III, Paramour I, II and III, etc. are all unlocked. I did play original ME1 (and 2 and 3) on Insanity way back when, but in the legendary edition I used Hardcore. Obviously, original ME2 didn't have these cross-game achievements so I have no idea where they're coming from. I checked in ME3, and it too is showing all achievements unlocked. If I go back to ME1 however, it only shows the achievements I actually got in the Legendary Edition, so e.g. Insanity I, II and III are all still locked. EA Desktop doesn't seem to have a way to view achievements outside of the game. I checked in Origin, and it's saying I didn't get any achievements yet, not even the ones I definitely did unlock in ME1LE. I don't particularly care about the achievements, but I'm very confused by this whole thing. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on here?Solved24KViews30likes252Comments[EA app] Mass Effect - Legendary Edition - Achievements don't unlock
Hi, I've recently started my adventure with ME: Legendary Edition. I had absolutely ZERO issues with first version of the game whitch is ME : 1, but when I started playing the second part ( ME: 2) I noticed very strange thing, my EA App just stopped tracking my achievements. This is weird because by now I should have at least 5 achievements unlocked (I hired Garrus, Kasumi, Mordin etc.) Can you guys do something about this issue? In addition to this, when I opened ME 2 for the first time and imported my character from ME 1 I instantly unlocked all achievements in GAME not in APP, maybe that is the reason why EA App is not tracking achievements now. I'm playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition in PC / Xbox Game Pass/ EA App Beta . I added screenshot of achievements below. Thanks in advance for all response Edited thread titel for clarity reasons Holger1405.Solved24KViews21likes396CommentsParamour 2 - Liara
I just finished Mass Effect 2 (Legendary Edition) on PS4 with an imported saved from Mass Effect 1. My Romance option in ME1 was Liara, so in ME2 I decided to rekindle the romance during the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. I did everything right and got Shepard to look at the photo before the start of the Suicide Mission, but the Paramour 2 trophy didn't pop. I was playing on Insanity as well if that matters. What gives? Will there be a patch that addresses this issue at a later date? Is the QA team aware of the issue occurring? Here are the steps to reproduce:: 1. Play the Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PS4). 2. While playing Mass Effect 1, rescue Liara right away and choose her as your romance option. Note that Paramour 1 should pop when the romance is complete and locked in. 3. Launch Mass Effect 2 and import your Shepard. 4. Play through the game and do not start any romances until being able to travel to Illium to visit Liara. 5. Initiate the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. 6. Play through the DLC and choose all options involving the romance between you and Liara. 7. After completing the final mission of the Shadow Broker DLC, invite Liara up to your cabin. 8. Watch the cut scene play out and choose to recommit/rekindle the relationship with Liara. 9. Observe how the Paramour 2 trophy does not pop here nor does it pop when starting the Suicide Mission at the final stretch of the game.22KViews5likes11CommentsMass Effect Legendary Edition on Origin does not start
Hi, I am in the UK, preloaded the game, and is now past 16:00 BST at which point the game was supposed to launch. The game on Origin says that it's been recently released, but I am unable to start the game. When clicking play, Origin minimises itself and a second or two later restores the window. I went into the game directory and started the launcher manually. It shows up in task manager for a couple for seconds, goes back to the Origin Window and then disappears again. I tried the same with the ME1, ME2 and ME3 executables with the same outcome. I have also tried verifying the game data with no benefit! Edit: Updated graphics (Nvidia) driver, with no help Is anyone able to help? ThanksSolved21KViews17likes287Comments
