Sims 3 Launcher says it encountered an error
Hi, Well, I tried playing the Sims 3 again but now the launcher will not even open. It just says it encountered an error and sends me back to the EA app. I'd like to play it! It seems to be an ongoing problem. Why is that? I wish PC's still had cd rom players because I have this whole game on disks and could play without a problem then. Anyone have a slution for me? Please?Solved66Views0likes2CommentsSims 3 crashing on loading screen
I've been through the threads/reddit/EA customer support and believe I have to give up on attempting to solve the issue. I have one save file that crashes on the loading screen, without fail. It was working just fine the day before and I saved and closed as normal. Today, it is not possible to open this save file anymore. There is no CC or mods used. I have since redownloaded the Sims 3, emptied the cache, opened the game with the lowest graphics settings in windowed mode -- nada. I'm playing on a Mac, OS up to date. It didn't work in 'safe mode' either. EA customer support suggested I post here to document that the issue could not be resolved. If anyone out there knows of some magical way of retrieving the lot I was building, I'm all ears. I logged quite some (read: much too many) hours on this home renovation before the issues started and I would be over the moon to see it again.45Views0likes1CommentTrouble getting worlds/content to work
Hi there. I am having a bizarre issue. So I downloaded a custom world called Hawsimoor which heavily uses roaring heights, when I loaded the world, almost all the buildings were missing. So I uinstalled both roaring heights and the custom world and reinstalled. And again it does the same. I also notice when I load roaring heights, some of the shells are missing there as well.36Views0likes1CommentDouble installation on C and OneDrive??
I have a rather weird problem with my installation, or at least I think it's weird. I decided to uninstall the game because it kept crashing after being stuck on a black screen, and when I wanted to reinstall via the EA app, I noticed two things: The suggested installation path is C\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3 There also seems to be an installation in OneDrive\Documents\Electronic Arts This is very confusing because even after uninstalling the game, the files on OneDrive are still there - I don't even know why the game has been installed there to begin with. I have aborted the reinstallation because I suspect that having this weird double installation (if it even is one) might cause problems. My question is: Can I just ditch all the files in OneDrive (maybe with a backup...) and then reinstall the game on my C drive? I've never had such a weird problem before, so any advice would be very much appreciated. DxDiag file is attached.Solved50Views0likes4CommentsTired of losing co-workers to other "jobs"?
I have been frustrated playing sims who are forever losing co-workers to showtime careers. After looking all over the web and finding no real solution other than major tweaking with one NRaas mod that still didn't guarantee no co-worker loss, I tried a simple solution. I created a household of eight NPCs with random traits and gave three of them the LTWs that would ensure they would want to be a singer, magician, or acrobat. This worked for me as I saw the random sims around town doing "acts" and my sims were able to progress all the way to top in both their careers without losing a (young) adult co-worker. One sim in the sports career lost one co-worker once, but I think that was an elder sim. Any way, sometimes there are simple fixes we don't think. I know other sims have looked for a solution barring uninstalling Showtime, so I thought I'd share this idea. Happy simming.17Views1like0CommentsSims 3 64 bit not showing in Library on EA App
After origin was discontinued and i was forced to download EA app to access my games i noticed the Sims 3 64 bit version was not in my library. After speaking with an EA agent they said they had added it onto my library but i could still not see it. After 3 hours and 4 agents i tried everything from safe reboot, reinstalling the app, clearing my cache and writing a code through my mac terminal. Every single ticket or case i raised was marked as 'fixed' despite the issue not being resolved. I have been trying to contact EA Help via twitter (X) for months and have been given 0 response. I was told by one agent to keep an eye on socials. The sims 3 is an old game i dont think EA will be updating this issue on socials when the churn out a £35 dlc for the sims 4 every month. I am now left with a game i cannot access, 0 help from EA and no further way to access live chat as after clicking start chat it says ' 0 agents available' . How are EA allowing this ? very dissapointed. Can anyone help me with this please. I have a mac book pro 2019, Intel core i5 and ventura 13.6.6...122Views0likes3Comments
