As we drop into Season 1, we wanted to give you a little refresher about our Seasonal process and get you ready for Season 1. Each Season in San Vansterdam will add more to the game, such as new skateable areas, new Challenges and Tasks, Seasonal events like Skate-o-Ween and the 7-Ply Maple Harvest, new brand partners, additional cosmetics, new tracks to the soundtrack, and a new skate.Pass, plus bug fixes and quality of life improvements. We’ll add more life and style to the city, like some spooky decor around the city for Skate-o-Ween and in-game events. With Season 1, we’re also implementing our first pass of visual updates, as shared in The Grind: Vol. 6. So what’s in Season 1? First, San Van is going to get a little makeover to do it up for the Season, and there’s plenty to discover once you drop in. Check out some of the seasonal decor we’re bringing to spots like The Orb, The Skateway, and new skateable areas around the city. Here’s a preview of what’s coming to the city. Skate-o-Ween Skate-o-Ween, as it's called in San Van, is the annual Halloween celebration, less focused on the spookiness and more about getting a chuckle out of someone, creating an inventive costume, and just getting together to skate in a fun outfit. During San Van’s Skate-o-Ween, skaters often don outfits that are callbacks to the origins of skateboarding - you'll see costumes, wild styles, or the baggy pants and chunky shoes of the early aughts worn ironically (and sometimes unironically). What a time. Even the companies of San Van get in on the fun - seizing on the opportunity to market their brands by selling corporate mascots for people to wear around the city. 7-Ply Maple Harvest The annual 7-Ply Maple Harvest occurs every year with the harvesting of San Van’s famous 7-Ply Maple trees. The Maple Harvest began in the early 20th century when a particularly robust variety of Maple Tree was discovered here. In the 70s, skaters discovered that by harvesting the San Van Maple every seven years, the wood produced would be perfectly suited for skateboard construction. Since then, the Harvest has evolved into a festival that embodies respect for the hearty, humble hardwood, as well as a celebration of accomplishments, growth, and reflection on the year since the last harvest. Each of these events will have community parks updated to celebrate the event. Plus, there’s themed cosmetics you can earn from participating in the events and earning Tix, and some you can grab from the Extravert Shop in-game. Community parks are public spaces in SV with custom layouts that rotate daily. Community parks will change each season, with the most popular ones returning in future seasons. Skate-O-Ween runs from Oct. 21 - Nov. 11, with the 7-Ply Maple Harvest dominating the city from Nov. 18 - Dec. 2. As you complete the in-game seasonal events, you’ll earn event currency to exchange for special Event cosmetics in-game. We’ll have more details on each event before they go live in-game. Seasonal events aren’t the only thing to do during Season 1. We’ll have 40 new Challenges for Season 1, with new Challenges added weekly, on top of the Challenges already live in the game. We’ll also have Seasonal Tasks – daily, weekly, seasonal and event tasks: Daily (~3-5/day)- a list of objectives that update daily Weekly(~6/week)- an event that unlocks each week and lasts until the end of Season 1 Seasonal (~10)- larger objectives that last all of Season 1 Event- objectives tied to the in-game event, which reward specific event currency Doing all those Challenges and Tasks gets you Tix, and those Tix get your rewards. As we mentioned for each Season, we’ll also have the skate.Pass. The skate.Pass has two tracks - the Standard (free) and Premium track - where you earn currency called “Tix” each season to buy items from the in-game store, which can be earned via: Daily, weekly, and Seasonal Tasks (including completion bonuses) Seasonal Challenges Daily grants (Premium skate.Pass only) Exchange for San Van Bucks skate.Passes can only be obtained from the in-game store during the seasons in which they are released. You’ll always be able to complete the Standard (Free) track without having to purchase the skate.Pass, but you’ll need to upgrade to the Premium track for 1000 SVB to get access to the Premium items. By acquiring the Premium skate.Pass, you’ll also be able to continue progressing and unlock rewards for up to one additional Season. Once the following Season ends, you can’t complete progression against the legacy skate.Pass. Now, if you want to get a bundle of SVB, some cosmetics, AND the Season 1 skate.Pass, you can purchase the Founder’s Pack or Founder’s Deluxe Pack – available on the skate.Shop. Fun fact: SVB purchases on the skate.Shop gives you 10% extra SVB. For EA Play subscribers, you can also get 10% off any purchase on the skate.Shop, including add-on content Packs and SVB purchases. Through the progression of the Standard and Premium skate.Pass tiers, you can earn up to 400 SVB to buy some gear in-game or to help purchase the next Season’s skate.Pass. So what are the rewards in Season 1? For Season 1, as it’s a little shorter season, you’ll have 82 tiers to work through (38 Standard and 44 Premium) to earn 32 free cosmetic items and 6 tiers of SVB on the Standard track, and 42 cosmetic items and 2 tiers of SVB on the Premium track, bringing your total rewards for both the Standard and Premium track (combined) to 74 cosmetic items and 8 tiers of SVB (up to 400 SVB total when you complete progression). This includes board items (like decks, stickers, trucks, griptape, and wheels), character items (like clothing, shoes, costumes, hats), gestures, as well as profile items like banners and avatars, with tiers ranging from uncommon, epic, rare, and legendary. What are some of the cosmetics? Some of the Free items are: Fresh Green Stripes Polo, Beige Baggy Jorts, PRMAFLO Puffletic White, Backwards White Baseball Cap are part of the Standard (Free) track rewards. Lucky Stripe cargo pants, Jazz Bucket hat, and PRMAFLO Afterlife Gumball shoes can be acquired through the Standard track; Tie Dye Kitty Baby Tee is part of the Premium track rewards. And for some of the Premium items, we’ve got: Hesh Leather Jacket, Ripped Jeans, and Camden boots are part of the Premium Track Rewards. Yes, we also mentioned costumes, such as the Livingston costume, featuring the mascot of San Van, as a skate.Pass Premium Reward: There are endless ways to express yourself with new collabs and gear from some of the best brands in skateboarding. We’ve got Girl Skateboard, Chocolate skateboards, Thrasher, Royal Trucks, Vans, Dickies, & Dime already in the game, and with Season 1, we’re bringing Santa Cruz, Creature, and Independent to San Vansterdam, just to name a few. Now that’s just a sample of some of the cosmetics you can get through Season 1’s skate.Pass Standard Track and Premium track, but that’s not all we’re bringing to San Van for Season 1. As we’ve mentioned in The Grind, we’ll be updating the in-game soundtrack every season. This season, we’re bringing 21 new songs into the rotation, and we’re definitely bringing a 90s vibe. Bad Religion - Against The Grain Dinosaur Jr. - Freak Scene Gang Star - Full Clip Jane's Addiction - Stop! Sonic Youth - Teen Age Riot Joey BADA$$ - Pardon Me Ice Cube - Bop Gun (One Nation) Naughty By Nature - It's On Operation Ivy - Sound System Skegss - L.S.D (Live. Sleep. Die) We’ll be dropping the full list of new music coming to San Van next week, so stay tuned. There’s a lot more for you to discover when you jump in, and we’re stoked to welcome you to skate. Hey skate. fam! Welcome to the ultimate troubleshooting guide for skate. on PC! Whether you're having issues or experiencing game crashes, we're here to help. Below, you'll find all the helpful information you need to get back on track. A bunch of us CMs (Community Managers) are active on here too, and we will do our best to help, but we can't respond to everything. So, let's all rely on the community to help each other out, including in this thread. Firstly, let's start with a Default Setup With hundreds of thousands of different PC hardware and software configurations, it's not always possible for us to identify the exact issue that is causing you a problem with the game. That being said, PC enthusiast tweaks such as undervolting or changing the clock speed of your graphics card have been known to cause undesirable performance issues with our games. We always recommend reverting to default hardware/software configurations when it comes to troubleshooting PC issues. This step alone may solve any issues you are facing, but even if it doesn't, it ensures your PC is in a default state should we need to investigate further. Basic Troubleshooting Steps Are you having trouble booting the game for the first time? Please be patient! If this is your first time playing on your machine, it can sometimes take a minute or two to open. If the game is not launching, please make sure your device meets the minimum requirements. Graphics Troubleshooting: For any graphical issues, follow this guide on EA Help: [Troubleshooting graphics on PC]. Keep your drivers updated: AMD Intel Nvidia. Additional Troubleshooting Steps Verify Game Files: Sometimes, game files can get corrupted. Verify the integrity of the game files through your game launcher. - For EA app, go to your library --> click on the 3 dots of skate. --> Repair - For Steam, go to your library --> right-click on skate.--> Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files. Check USB Connections: Avoid using USB hubs or extension cables. Mechanical keyboards with analogue (hall effect) switches might cause conflicts. Adjust graphics settings: Set your quality to "Medium" and then manually reduce everything, as setting quality to "Low" will lock FPS to 30. Disable background applications: Some background applications can interfere with the game and use up resources. Close unnecessary applications and processes through the Task Manager. You can also add the EA app or skate. to your anti-virus programs. You can find more information in this EA Help article. Check for Windows updates: Ensure your Windows OS is up to date. Go to settings --> Update. Game Booting / Anti-Cheat Issues Sometimes, AntiVirus or our EA Anti-Cheat software can block skate. from booting. Try adding skate.exe to your anti-virus's list of whitelisted applications. EA AntiCheat will report which piece of software needs to be closed in order for skate. to run. Some home automation or device controls may contain "Interception". A post with steps on how to remove this can be found by clicking here. For DiskSoft errors, you will need to uninstall/disable DAEMON Tools, ReWASD or Astroburn. More information about software that can block skate from booting can be found by clicking here. Game Crashing Issues Where is the game crashing? For example, when going to a specific area or doing a specific trick How many times has the crash happened? Can you repeat it? Does it crash in the same place each time? Does the crash only happen in one area? Upload a DxDiag file that can give us more information about your system and any issues with drivers or errors. Press the Windows key and enter 'dxdiag' in the search box. Select the dxdiag app. When DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens, select the Run 64-bit DxDiag button. If that button doesn’t appear, move to step 6. While the program is gathering information, a green progress bar will appear at the bottom left of the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window. When the progress bar disappears, it means your report is ready. Select Save All Information. Save the file to your desktop (make sure it’s saving as a text file) and give it a name you’ll remember. Select Exit. Attach the file here in your next post. Remember, this thread is a guide for us to help each other out. If you encounter any technical issues, feel free to post here. Our community is knowledgeable and ready to assist. Let’s work and keep everyone on the board! If you found a workaround or solution that fixed your issue, feel free to share it here so it can also help others! Keep in mind, though, if you want to report a bug or issue with the game, please use the search function if a topic about it already exists or create your own thread. We've got our own guide on How to Report a Bug. Also, we are unable to help with any account issues or payment issues on the forum. Please reach out to EA support instead. Here, you can find how to create a case. Other than that, happy skating!387Views1like0Commentsskate. | Connectivity Guide
Troubleshoot download, installation, and loading issues If you’re having problems downloading, installing, or loading your game, try these tips first to see if they fix your connection. At the bottom of the post, you can also find a list of common in-game error codes related to the network and troubleshooting steps for them. Check for platform issues PlayStation® Check @AskPlayStation for info on the PlayStation™Network. Make sure you have an active PlayStation® subscription to play online. Confirm your EA Play for PlayStation® membership is still active. Restart your PlayStation® in Safe Mode to clear your cache. Xbox Check @XboxSupport for updates on Xbox Live services. Make sure you have an Xbox subscription to play online. Confirm your EA Play for Xbox membership is still active. Restart your Xbox to clear your cache. If you’re on Xbox 360, follow these steps to clear your cache. PC Check @EAHelp to stay updated on the server status of games. Make sure you have an active EA Play for PC membership. If you bought your game through Steam, check the Steam Support page for extra connection help. Follow these steps to clear your cache. Nintendo Switch Confirm your Nintendo Switch Online membership is still active. Restart your Nintendo Switch. Clear your cache. Additionally: Close background applications Check the server status Restart your router Try a different Domain Name System (DNS) Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses the Domain Name System (DNS) to translate internet addresses from a human-readable address (like help.ea.com) to a computer-readable one (a string of numbers). If something goes wrong with the DNS you’re using, you may run into issues trying to connect to the internet. If your DNS is unreliable, switching to a different one might help fix your connection issues. Here are a couple of free options that are available if you want to switch: Google DNS Open DNS. EA doesn’t own or operate Google DNS or Open DNS, nor can we make any changes to their pages or systems. EA is not responsible for content on third-party sites, and our privacy notice doesn’t apply to their information collection practices. Use these sites and/or servers at your own risk. Check for common EA Account issues You might not be able to play online because of the status of your EA Account. Check that your EA Account isn’t impacted by any of the issues below. Banned or suspended account If your EA Account is banned or suspended, you can’t play online. Learn more about banned and suspended accounts. Deactivated or deleted account If your account was deactivated or deleted, you won’t be able to play online. Account already in use If you get a message that your account is already in use, try logging out on your other devices and logging back in. Think someone may have hacked your account? Find out what you can do to resecure your account. Underage child account If you have a child account, your access to features like purchases, social media, connections, and online play is limited. Learn more about child accounts. Gameplay connection issues Try these tips if you’re having problems with your connection during gameplay. Some of these tips involve advanced networking changes. If you feel uncomfortable making these changes, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for help. For specific instructions about your hardware, make sure you follow the steps in your router’s manual. Use a wired connection Hardwired connections can be much more reliable than wireless ones. If you're playing using Wi-Fi, try hardwiring your device to your router. Mobile and satellite connections are also less stable than broadband. Play using a wired broadband connection if you can. Check the router signal Make sure your router is out in the open with the antenna, if there is one, pointed in the direction of your device to see if you get a stronger signal. Check that your router's Wi-Fi lights are functioning properly. If they’re off or red, your router isn't broadcasting a signal. A router’s range can be pretty short. The further away you are from it, the more likely it is to have a weak connection. Walls, large objects, and other electronics (like microwaves) can also interfere with your router. Try putting your router as close to your device as possible. Change your Wi-Fi channel If you live in a populated area, like an apartment complex, there can be lots of interference from other nearby networks. Changing your wireless channel can limit that and make your wireless connection more stable. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for help finding and switching to a less busy wireless channel. Check your device’s date and time If the date and time on your device are wrong, it can sometimes cause issues.248Views1like0Commentsskate. | How to report a bug
