[PATCH NOTES] Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU - Patch 1.3 Notes
All the improvements and fixes we are bringing to Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU Today we are launching patch 1.3 for Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU. We're calling it the "Most Requested Updates" patch because it offers some big changes that come directly from community requests and feedback! Since ZAU’s launch in April, we’ve received tons of useful feedback and vital bug reporting from our community, which helps us bring you an even better experience in your travels across the lands of Kenzera. We’re pleased to announce that, thanks to your ongoing support, we’ve made the following updates and fixes: Patch Notes Added two new difficulty levels in addition to Relaxed, Balanced, and Challenging. “Story” is even more forgiving than “Relaxed” in combat, providing further support on traversal and restoring full health at each checkpoint upon death. “Brutal” is a step beyond “Challenging” and is tailored for those who want to get a strong sense of the enormity of Zau’s task. “Brutal” emphasises dashing, using skills and abilities effectively, and remembering enemy attack patterns Adjusted hazards like the insta-kill spikes, diminishing collision slightly so they feel more fun and fair Added the option to skip chase sequences after a designated number of attempts determined by the player’s selected difficulty level. Improved the map’s fog of war, making it easier for collectors to identify areas where content may have been missed Fixed an issue in which players weren’t immediately aware of ZAU’s difficulty selection. Players will now be asked to choose their difficulty level upon starting a new game. Tied players’ chosen difficulty to their save slot for those who play on multiple saves or who share the game with others Added hints, tips and reminders to the pause menu Added a pop-up tutorial for the Kikiyaon Heart encounter Other Fixes Fixed issue in which “I Am the Sun” achievement was not awarded if enemies were killed by Ignite from Supernova Fixed an issue in which Zau became stuck in pre-charge animation after the dash, double jump, and charge combo Fixed an issue in which players could not use Bamba’s Stone on GaGorib while he performs Body Slam Fixed issue in which seize expended dash and double jump charges Other minor fixes Chase Sequences Gameplay changes You’ve consistently given us feedback saying you wished there was an option to skip the chase sequences in ZAU, so we added it! Depending on the difficulty level you’ve selected, a Yumboe will appear after a certain number of attempts and let you skip if you’re struggling. The criteria for when the Yumboe will appear are: Story: The player always has the option Relaxed: Will appear after 3 deaths in total Balanced: Will appear after 5 deaths in total Challenging: Will appear after 10 deaths in total Brutal: The player never has the option A Yumboe will remain in place once it has appeared, so if you are playing on Story difficulty and then switch to Brutal difficulty, it'll still be there for you. It’s worth noting that deaths are shared between all parts of the chase, so if you die 3 times in the first part of a chase and 2 times in the second part of a chase, the Yumboe will appear for Balanced difficulty players. If the player changes difficulty, the game doesn’t reset how many times the player has died. (Please note, this patch is currently only live on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and will be coming to Nintendo Switch at a later date.) Once again, thank you for your consistent feedback and support. It is an extremely useful resource for us to keep improving our game, making it all the better for you to play! I am using steam for launching the game. I recently downloaded the game, when i went to launch it asked me to update my .NET framework. I updated said .NET and tried to launch the game. It did not launch, it in fact restarted my computer. I have so far verified the files, updated the drivers for my GPU, uninstalled and re-installed the game and reverified the files and it will still not even launch to the loading screen and restarts my PC immediately. I'm in act 3, I finished going through the Azde's Cave but the "Escape the Azde's Cave" objective wasn't updated, so I can't continue with the story. When I glided down, the dialogue with Zau saying "I-- I flew, I actually flew!" started, and from what I watched in YouTube, the "Escape the Azde's Cave" objective should complete when this dialogue ends. But it didn't complete. I may have been because, before the dialogue sequence finished, I ran back inside the cave to see if there was some secret I missed. Platform: PC Operating system version: Windows 11 Save files and 2 screenshots are attached.139Views0likes0Comments[BUG] - Inconsistent Spirit Ritual completion state
Since the 1.5 update, I've noticed that the spirit ritual completion numbers are inconsistent on the map. I think this is a combination of the new spirit ritual trials, and my game state before the update. Before the update, I had completed Act 2 and was going back through incomplete regions to find more of the collectibles before proceeding. Regarding Spirit Rituals specifically, I had: - discovered the Spirit Ritual in The Wildwood but only beaten 1 or 2 of the trials -- so it was not complete - discovered and completed the original 3 Spirit Ritual trials in The Great Cliffs Since the update, I've beaten the original 3 Spirit Ritual trials in The Wildwood, and I've beaten some of the newly added trials in both locations. The map now shows: - the Spirit Ritual in The Wildwood is incomplete (0/1), even though I've beaten the original three. I would assume this means I now have to beat all 6 for it to be marked complete, except... - the Great Cliffs Spirit Ritual still shows as completed 1/1 on the map, even though I have not beaten the newly added trials Obviously this is not a big deal, and I love the game so much so far, but it is an inconsistency in behavior so I thought I'd call it out. Update 4 Dec 2024: I just completed the game (so beautiful) and 100%-ed all achievements, so this inconsistency did not prevent me from fully completing the game. I did ultimately beat all of the newly added spirit trials as well. [ Personally, I would have preferred to see the new trials separated out in the map status somehow, since the original trials grant actual gameplay boons towards a 100% run, but the new ones are just "extra credit" -- but that comes down to a difference of opinion on implementation. ]191Views0likes0Comments[PATCH NOTES] Tales of Kenzera™: ZAU - Patch 1.5 Notes
