Battlefield 2042 - Update #3.1.2

Hey everyone,

It’s been great seeing you enjoying and sharing your Battle of Nordvik event gameplay clips over the holidays - especially for Breakthrough Chaos!

On January 17 at 09:00 UTC we’ll roll out our first Update of the year which resolves several immediate issues, and adds balance changes to weapons and vehicles which you’ve highlighted to us throughout the Holidays.

We’re also expanding the Battlefield™ 1942 Arsenal for Battlefield Portal, as part of this update you’ll be able to use the Mk VI Revolver, Gewehr 43, Gewehr 43 ZF4, M1 Garand Sniper, No 4 and the Sten within Battlefield Portal Experiences.

You can expect a more substantial set of changes coming later this month in Update 3.2.0 alongside the reworked Breakaway map, and the return to Classes.

Changelog

 

Battlefield Portal

  • Spearhead is now available on multiple Official Templates in the Web Builder, such as Conquest Hardcore, FFA and Team Deathmatch.

 

Maps

  • Spearhead: Resolved an instance of clipping with the camera during the insertion phase at the start of a match.

 

Specialists

  • We have fixed an issue where Specialists were not rendering correctly during the insertion phases at the start of a match, sorry for giving you a fright.
  • Sundance: Anti-Armor Grenade’s are now correctly intercepted by vehicles that have Active Protection Systems triggered.
  • Crawford: Resolved an issue where there was no iconography to display the progression of overheating while using the Mounted Vulcan Stationary Minigun.

 

Vehicles

  • 50MM Cannon Pod Ammo on Transport Air vehicles increased from 8 -> 10

  • Resolved an issue where for a brief period of time, the EMKV90-TOR’s turret speed would be slowed after firing with its HHV-EMG Maul primary weapon

Weapons

  • Fixed some cases of recoil compensation not being consistent upon firing for prolonged periods of time

  • Damage for the Rorsch MK-4 has been reduced against vehicles while in the High Power Capacitor fire mode (Single Shot). This ensures the Rorsch can still assist in taking out vehicle targets versus taking them out by itself
    • Heavy vehicles now take approximately 50% less damage 
    • Light vehicles now take approximately 25% less damage 
    • High Power Capacitor Charge Up increased from 0.8 -> 1 second.
  • Damage for the MCS-880 has been improved for close range scenarios to bring it in line with other utility weapons such as the 12M Auto and NVK-S22.
    • Damage per pellet while using default rounds under 20m increased from 8 -> 15
  • NVK-P125 bursts per minute increased from 150 -> 160 to better match the intended firing rate of the weapon.

    Good Day DICE Mgmt,

    I have been anxiously awaiting this major update and to be honest after playing it with my clan mates for hours we were all unanimously angry and frustrated for many reasons a few major issues below:

    I won’t even get into the fact DICE refuses to allow clan representation that’s another infuriating topic

    ok 3.2 frustrations:

    1. STOP nerfing the CRAP out of the Insertion Beacon. This is one of the most important gadgets in the game to squads like ours that rely on strategy, flanking etc.  having a “self-destruct” feature is BAD and creates a huge negative operational impact.

    Suggestion:  please for the love of Bf remove all self destruct features, allow unlimited spawns (they don’t last long anyway) and remove the massive tripod also

    2. Bipod and 40MM Grenade launcher now requires we “HOLD” the down D-Pad instead of a quick click.  The second or two extra to HOLD has been getting me killed most of the time and again, a very negative operational impact.


    Suggestion:  please revert these changes as it was fine and usable as they were

    This update accomplished absolutely nothing except infuriating the BF player base . The fact that Dice thought that testing this update out with a group of streamers and BF veterans validates every bit of criticism thrown at them for being out of touch.   That group does not represent the skill set and priorities of the player base.   The vast majority of players play the game by matchmaking with other random players. Implementing restrictions isn't some silver bullet for turning the chopper dumping gamepass and free trial ham-and-eggers into good teammates.   Campers continue to camp and lone wolves continue to operate on their own. 

    Looking back, it's absolutely mind blowing how many resources Dice has squandered implementing either unbalanced weapons and vehicles, or design changes like this that don't correlate with the core elements of the original game.  The railgun and tank should've never been implemented in their original state.  No one wants to use an item like the rail gun again now after it's been nerfed, or vault weapons that don't receive the same treatment as standard weapons. It took an entire season to correct their ADS speed, they have no skins and only handful of attachments at best.  Everything that's ever been added has either rendered multiple other items obsolete or required further balance changes to correct.  This update was an unmitigated disaster on so many fronts, negating any benefits we could've realized from changes like the map redesign, which align with the core game we've been playing for 2 years.

    Insertion Beacon is now completely useless.  It’s infuriating.

    DICE has now nerfed the beacon 3 times or ways

    1. adding a self destruct by the owner spawning on it

    2. adding a three foot tripod so it’s larger, more viable and harder to hide

    3. how reading nerf #1 for self destructing after only spawns which is mere seconds 

    this is some of the worst decision making I co to us to see that makes no Sense.

    SUGGEST:  please remove all self destruct off the beacon giving it unlimited spawns.  

    It’s already being taken down quick now this?!?

    PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF. BATTLEFIELD I BEG YOU  DICE :-)

  • Maps,maps,maps...

    Add new maps,please..

    Battlefield 2 and battlefield 4 maps ...

    We're still waiting.

    we want to see more maps with aircraft carrier.....

  • looks to me like they removed a lot of frustrated customers comments to focus on a few issues since they cant fix the others like in true fashion of past dice games they cant contractually say they cant fix some issues and or call them known issues but mostly bann or remove comments not meeting their tiny window of power to develop to keep all mistakes and problems under wraps. if you detail and exploit you get your comment removed and or acct banned for it and they cite you where breaking the rules instead of acknowledging the problem in the appropriate manner. this game is the last bf game i ever buy. will never buy cod or bf again and to be honest even if you bought them for me i wont play them and would rather give my money to new company making a fps game next. anything but the huge groups who basically dont pay their devs enough or care about the game because its all about profits to them which is why this trainwreck was released early in the first place and had to undergo a major overhaul to just keep it floating along for micro transactions. by the time someone makes a 8k compatible game and the tv or monitor is accessible they wil have even newer consoles. i feel like between the console and this really glitchy beta game the gaming industry is scamming its customers
