Good day everyone. I watched a lot of videos about BF 2042 and played more than 80+ hours. I want to share my opinion about this part of game. I briefly want to write that I started playing from BF2 with all addons, BF 2142 and etc. I play BF 2042 on PS4.
My opinion about this version of BF is that it is an unbalanced beta game:
I did several tests to use RPGs against ground vehicles:
- One RPG shot does 60% damage to the LATV4 RECON in any side of one. So, a soldier needs to do 2 shots to destroy this light armor car. I might say it is ok but a drive usually has repaired kit and a vehicle’s auto-healing. What kind of method does a driver’s of usually use a stop on high spots and use minigun or cannons to kill from long distance. Another method is to drive along a border of map then they use high speed in drive through soldiers and does not carry about RPG because one shot is nothing and a soldier very rarely has time to do 2 shots. Using assault rifles, LMGs or other weapons do not give guaranty that I might kill a drive – spreads of bullets or registration of ones.
- If somebody wants to destroy M5C Bolte they need to do 3 shots in any side of vehicle. However, M5C Bolte is a light armored vehicle too. A soldier has 3 RPG and need to be very lucky person to have time and possibility to do.
- To destroying a tank a soldier must do 4 shots in any side of tank. How is it possible if a soldier has only 3 RPGs.
In BF2 and BF2142 all light armored vehicles were destroyed from one RPG’s shot in any side of vehicles. People used them to move from one spot of map to other. Also, they could use road kill method but they exactly knew that it is not so safe like in BF 2042 where a drivers might road killing enemies and does not care about RPGs because vehicles’ auto-healing and repaired kit.
In old version of BFs all heavy armored vehicles had weak spots and people tried learning all those ones. 2 RPG’s shots into back side of tank to be enough to destroy a tank, 2 shots is not 4 shots when you have only 3 RPGs.
Anti-tank mines is a rubbish in this part of game. I must use 2 mines against light and heavy armored vehicles. So, I always put 3 mines close to each other because one mines it is only partly damage against any kind of vehicles.
A question to developers, why do all vehicles have unlimited ammunition where a soldier must lock for a ammo box and spends time to close one to slowly restore RPG or AA rockets. Another way to soldiers to find Angel and obtain access to ammo box on open places because it is impossible into shelters or buildings. I want to have unlimited RPGs or AA rockets and let those restore slowly like ammo in vehicles.
Developers, why did you reduce effectiveness of the NTW-50 against vehicles? Some drivers or pilots started sending notes about destroying them easy killing game when they can make 60 – 80 frags per game with 0 death. What about infantries who need to be on open large field to run from one spot to another and might be easy frag for them who in vehicles.
I might understand that you would increase number of shots against a tanks till 4 shots is ok, 3 shots against attack helicopters is ok too but 2 shots against all light armored vehicles and MD540 Nightbird must be left.
If you think this is an imbalance, follow these steps: on all maps, vehicles should only deal damage to vehicles, and infantry can only fight with each other, like two different layers on the map. When a soldier uses a technique, he cannot kill infantry and vice versa.
We might watch videos about used SOFLAM + RPG against air vehicles, it works like AA rockets. Why SOFLAM + RPG against ground vehicles does not work like Javelin, 1 shot against all light armored vehicles and MD540 Nightbird is ok and 2 shoots against other vehicles.
Developers, could you return a TV rocket to a 2nd pilot in helicopters, please? Additionally, could you think about engineer? I mean that repairing tool is not useful gadget in this game now because like I mentioned before each vehicle has auto-healing and repairing kit. I think that repairing kit should be deleted, auto-healing should be deleted too or time of work should be slowly in 6 – 10 times.
Last example from BF 2142, a robot was a dangerous vehicles against tanks and helicopters. A tank must shoot 3 times to destroy a robot and an assault must shoot 2 magazine of an assault rifle to destroy a robot too. You just compare 3 tank’s shots and 2 magazines of an assault rifle.
