DICE TeamI am pretty mad about this new kit system. It entirely removes all the freedom. I will no longer be playing this game.
I get that people were disappointed with the direction of the game away from classes and is why a lot of people didn't buy it or stopped playing, but everyone that has been playing and supporting the game have now just been disregarded in favour for a system that is so restrictive and dull a year after launch. Had this been the way the game was I would not have purchased it from the beginning.
My main issue is the lack of freedom. The reason why I liked the old system from BC2, BF3, BF4 is that there was only one vital feature that made a class, and the rest was customizable and up to you. Medic only had med bags and could revive, support had ammo, engineer had the repair tool, and sniper had sniper rifles. This to me does not work with the current character system.
Though I didn't like the character system it offers WAY more freedom than this new system. All I ever wanted to do in a battlefield game is have my ammo box, with an assault rifle and have anti tank capabilities. Just like in Bad Company 2 I could take a G3 and C4. Like in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 I could have ammo bags and C4. I would have liked to have had a rocket launcher and ammo bags. My ideal setup was a customizable character with my own design, and that I could pick any one of the features from any of the pre-made characters, OR two equipment slots.
My current setup that has not changed since launch was Angel, Rocket Launcher, and prox sensor grenades. Now I cannot do this anymore. There is no way to force teamwork other than making it controlable by yourself. I cannot force a squadmate or a teammate to run ammo boxes in order to refill my rockets that take ALL OF THEM in order to do anything to a tank which it often does not kill. It is completely ridiculous. Now I cannot run this. Why would I want ammo boxes as Angel when he comes with throwable ammo pouches? The benefit was I could use equipment and resupply myself calling in the supply drop. I need the ability to deal with vehicles, AND resupply myself when I need to. The previous system of this game at least let me do that even if it was very very slow and nerfed.
The problem is the character system combined with kits, it does not work or make any sense. Now all the equipment and items are also now locked off to certain kits. This makes no sense, gives me no controlability over my game whatsoever. I cannot stand all these restrictions. We had it good in BF4, there were enough all kit weapons to keep me happy on any kit, I could just run support with ammo with C4 or mines or other anti tank devices. I could use any grenade type I wanted.
You should simply choose any character, gun, equipment you want, and the kits should be only defined by one singular item that defines that kit. I simply cannot play this game without ammo and anti tank capabilities. I absolutely cannot believe this has been forced onto main servers, and not turned into a separate mode. What a shame this game has come to this. All we ever needed was more freedom with our kits and new content, maps and guns. This is a huge backwards step.
Will definitely be uninstalling
Very good update, a return to the roots, finally people will start playing in teams instead of running around like headless chickens, new map modifications also very positive, some players will find it hard to switch to the "old" model of play and may leave, but it's no loss because the old guard who can play in teams will return. Everyone who cries for powerful tanks and helicopters or planes has no idea how difficult it is to stay in the air nowadays, aa gun has a huge range, fox shoots down a helicopter with one guided missile, a skilled tanker does the same, most often those who want to camp in the bushes for the whole round complain. I have a suggestion to you go play COD or CSGO, battlefield as the name suggests is a game not for infantry alone, but depicts the full picture of the battlefield and this includes vehicles huge maps and for this fans love this game. Find a good team and vehicles will not be a problem.
