@Straatford87Thanks for swinging back through on the thread, it would be nice to get some idea of if it is still being tracked and responded to.
Approaching April now and (putting aside peoples varying definitions of live service) I was wondering is there any news on how the update 0.3.4 is shaping up? What is in and what is out? Some feeback after playing since the 0.3.3 was implimented as a PC - Origin - Oceania - Std Edition Pre-order - Veteren Regular Player.
First off I still have fun playing with friends while on discord but i'm having less and less fun playing by myself due to the frustrations brought on by the issues below - mainly some key bugs and vehicle balance vs infantry.
Patching of the missing scoreboard function has been good and helped to retain players who have been on the fence about putting down the game for a while. I hope improvements to the layout, information displayed and adding it back to the end of round are still on the cards for the next update. One new feature that was on the initial tab screen that has since disappeared was seeing the squad leaderboard. I and my friends thought this was a great new feature and think it would be well received to have this back especially given squad rank is a big end of round achievement but it would be good to know how you going during the game instead of having to guess. On that topic it would be interesting to try having the best squad shown at the end of the round instead of individual player achievements much like BFV.The steadfast legendary bundle is the only new cosmetics released with the last patch. They Mackay skin is one of the best and I think captured the hearts of the playerbase much more than the novelty skins like the cowboy released previously, a great step in the right direction for the tone of the game but only if you play Mackey i guess. It is a shame that the Bolte gets yet another skin and other vehicles haven't had as much attention. It would also have been nice to have the standard edition or pre-order players get some love with a skin or two but i guess we weren't included in the appreciated players list (just a bit salty!).
General Fixes may have really helped a few players but none of them actually improved the game for me personally on PC in Oceania.
Modes Fixes have not affected my game as Hazard Zone does not have any joinable games in my region and I've never been negatively affected by the minor Conquest & Breakthrough bug.
Not trying to negative but just to provide feedback, I didn't get much out of patch 0.3.3 and was correspondingly a bit let down. In order to be constructive however below are a few issues that I hope to see fixed soon that would greatly improve my BF2042 experience.
My high priority outstanding fixes/issues and feedback:
- ADS bug when exiting vehicles, can't aim down sight. This bug prevents me from using vehicles and under barrel launchers/shotguns as they seem to trigger the bug. This bug presents me with the choice of not using vehicles and the under barrels or having to suicide after existing a vehicle. This is exacerbated by the long travel distance from spawn to flags and between flags on most maps. Currently there is no work around that I have found other than playing mobility specialists such as Mackey or Sundance or attemping to ride on the outside of vehicles. I miss out on half the game content due to this bug.
- Vehicle Weapon Balance and Spawn Rate - this is a fairly obvious one in every round i play. Vehicles especially Helicopters (specifically Nightbirds) dominate the map and sway the balance heavily against infantry. Suggestion 1 improve infantry counter play with AA/AT launcher and NTW50 improvements so that the one player in the nightbird is matched by the one player on the ground and it becomes a battle of skill. Suggestion 2 remove Nightbird anti infantry rockets (making it like BF4 minibird) or reduce the fire rate to give infantry a fighting chance. This challenge is once again exacerbated by the vast nature of the maps and lack of cover.
- All Chat feature is still missing from previous games. I miss not being able to say "GLHF" or "nice shot" when someone gets me good or to say "GG Close!" at the end of the game.
- Kill Feed feature not working as intended. Squad is the only setting that works. ALL and Nearby do not work and its a big loss to your battlefield information especially given the lack of communication methods available in game compared to previous titles.
- Promised patching of missing features of VOIP and End of Round Scoreboard. It will be great for teamwork and inclusion. In addition to squad VOIP it would be fantastic to get a local proximity VOIP at some point in the future so we can communicate with players nearby or in vehicles.
I am hopeful that this feedback is heard and would love to know that someone out there connected to the game is seeing some of this feedback loop. I know all players would appreciate some more official information and regular progress updates to counter all the negatively we see online that is sadly updated at a much more frequent interval.
Thanks,

Hey everyone,
The next update is still scheduled for April. Once we are closer to its release, we'll provide a full summary of what's included. Right now, we've already shared that you can expect updated Scoreboard End of Round functionality, and VoIP.
The next communication you can expect from us before then is the follow-up post for the recent Core Feedback - Maps discussion. In that post we'll already be able to share further changes with you that we are making based on your feedback. We are looking forward to sharing that with you once we've finalized that post.
Lastly, I'm sorry that it's taken longer than expected to get news into your hands! From our end we want to be sure that when we share something with you it's confirmed and accurate.
Why does every communication seemingly need to be produced and reviewed by multiple levels? The feel inauthentic and sanitized and devoid of any passion, emotion, or feeling and make it seem like DICE doesn't really care about this game. Especially given how infrequent they are and how each one feels like you're coming into the doctor's office to get teeth pulled out, not like you want to communicate or engage with the community.
The apology is nice if we believed DICE was actually sorry, but given that DICE has yet to apologize for launching a poorly designed, incomplete game and that they as a studio have done nothing to improve communications since release...
I don't think anyone believes you. Not you as a person, but "you" as DICE, the studio. Literally nobody believes you, you've broken that trust.

What frustrates me is they act like this is totally normal and all part of a live service model, when in fact it's totally willful incompetence and totally lack of respect for the paying customers.
If they gave weekly updates on what they are working on, what's going to plan and what isn't, at least the customers can see what is being actively being worked on.

@dansk1984Bungie and Bethesda both have weekly update posts, even if they're not super exciting, keeping folks in the loop with what's being worked on, what they've done, and what is coming. They did this throughout the time that Destiny 2 / Fallout 76 were bad and needed a lot of work - like 2042 - and keep it up now to keep a healthy level of community engagement.
DICE seems unable or unwilling to learn from others in the industry.- RMEChief3 years agoLegend

Oof.
