Blog Post
I appreciate that you're being bombarded by complaints and awful internet stories being written about the game and all that... and I was on your side.
However...with this last update, the fact I can't look horizontally and you tell me I have to go and delete something which completely resets all my settings that I took time to set up is absolutely $%*&ing irresponsible and totally unacceptable.
I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ALTER YOUR GAME THAT I PAID FOR! What I should be able to do IS PLAY THE #*$%^ING GAME I PAID FOR.
YOU fix the goddamn mistakes. NOT ME. THATS WHY I OVER PAID FOR YOUR GAME.|
It's hardly a massive bug...I've worked in the industry for 15 years. ITS NOT HARD TO FIX THIS ISSUE. FIX IT.
Again, I'm upset and I'm not trying to be an internet *, but every single game is like this, and every single game is going this way, and you make billions. I'm tired of this...if I buy a car, I shouldn't have troubles turning the steering column. And the fix shouldn't be, well...take off the distributor cap and muck about with the innards 😞
Have to say I find your comment pretty comedic. You say you've worked in the industry for 15 years, if you're such an expert why don't you go get a job there 🤔 Your not being asked to "Alter" the game, like you said. But simply delete local config files. As I'm sure you are aware, being in the industry for 15 years and knowing it's an easy fix...
The issue isn't necessarily something that's their fault. I suspect it has something to do with the issues for controller support on pc, perhaps changing around how mouse / controller inputs are handled. This can also be seen with how you can change the controller sensitivities for air vehicles, and it alters it for Mouse and Keyboard too.
Just couldn't help myself really, oh and one last thing. You only have to google to find out how many vehicle recalls there are for small issues which in theory you could just fix yourself as simply as deleting a file. So that argument doesn't really stand up either does it? 🙂

DICE, please consider devising some method for implementing singleplayer/splitscreen offline bots into Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield Portal post-launch.

"Isn't their fault"
Whose fault is it then? EA made this buggy piece of garbage. Maybe if they focused on releasing a completed game instead of worrying about fabricated nonsense like diversity, their game would be better.
Why defend this company? I was fool enough to pay over $100 for the gold edition and it was no close to being worth it. You must work for them.

Patch hasn't been great, crashing a lot more on xbox series x, still no loadout every 3-4 games.

@TridentBF Essentially you just told me that you suspect they broke the controls via settings changed for controller on PC. ie: They broke the core controls of the game because their variables are threaded into one another, and you're telling me that's my issue to fix?
Are you ok? I mean honestly...think about the absolute nonsense you're telling me I should accept. You're telling me that they went in and BROKE the product with a forced update that completely wipes out all the time and effort I took to tweak my settings in this game. I don't want to have to go back in and redo this every time they bring out an update. You're insane and absolutely obnoxious for pointing that out and finding it 'comical'.
You know what's comical? Telling me I should go work for an awful company like EA; to uproot myself and go live where DICE is, to just 'go work for them'. If you had any clue about what you're talking about, you'd shut your mouth and think, hey this guy wants companies to actually be accountable and responsible for what they are doing.
If you think MOUSE INPUT is something that is flagrant and unimportant in testing a patch, please...don't go into the industry. Your attitude is EXACTLY why we are where we are.
More importantly...you wanna scoff at my experience? The last title I was asked to work on was the latest Need For Speed. Does that sound like small time nothing to you? In fact I know the people personally that INVENTED IT! Not to mention Mod Nation Racers and Sleeping Dogs) I've worked along side the CTO of Microsoft Games, lead designers who worked on Mass Effect(even was considered to work on 2 and 3's UI design), I've LITERALLY worked with Seamus, you know...the guy that invented the Xbox? Or how about the producer that created SOCOM 2? Oh...and you know...a large percentage of people that work at Ubisoft on the Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell titles, including design directors, people at BEhavior interactive, and with directors that work on the Insurgent series. In fact...one of the last products I was Creative Director on was being commissioned for a crossover so that the Winnipeg Jets and the Ottawa Senators would create installations in their arenas for fans to play interactive VR hockey. So you can take your 'comedic' take on my post, wrap it up in your arrogant BS attitude, and shove it up your "It's ok, I dont mind paying for broken software" *, and * off kid. You obviously have no clue what you're talking about and your fanboi butthurt response helps no one here.
Go complain to the other people complaining about the controls. Go ahead tough guy, you've got your finger on the pulse of what quality control is.
