We've moved XP gains around to make it more consistent in how it is rewarded to you as opposed to focusing on completing the defend/capture event itself. This will help balance out overall XP rewards.
This also means it should feel less punishing if you die just before a Capture event has taken place and you miss out on a big chunk of XP.
Instead, you are now rewarded with more XP for participating in the defensive/offensive goal by performing Support actions to your team (Healing, Resupplying, Repairing and destroying Equipment or Disrupting via EMP).
Coupled with Ribbons now being easier to get, you should see higher overall XP gains with this change. Once you've been able to play and try it out, do let us know how it feels for you.
- 4 years ago@Straatford87 Hello. The game patch is nowhere to be found for me on PC. I am a EA Play pro subscribber. I tried restarting the game and EA Desktop client. I tried logging off and restarting the PC. Still no patch.

The first thing I did was to check the descriptions and looking at the FIRST weapon - the PP-29 I instantly found inconsistencies. Really?
The description says 53 rounds, the table on the right 64, but I have equipped standard issue which has 75 rounds. (see attachments)
I didn't have time to check the others though but it's really disappointing to just check the first random one and instantly find that nothing has changed. I mean it's a text is it so hard to make it consistent?
The other thing I realized in my limited playtime (played just 2 matches but I will for sure come back again after I have played longer) was that the Sundance granade belt switching feels the same, it still has a lag while toggling between them. The patch notes saying it should be more quicker to switch between them. Did you even touch this?
And the last thing I would like to say that the mouse sensitivity feels....I don't want to say worse, but...different. Again, very limited playtime but It felt too sensitive, I had to lover the sensitivitiy from 16 to 10 to get a similar feel like before the patch. Hmm...
That's it for now, I will sure report back after some proper playtesting.
And yeah btw, the video description on the gadget screen... Is this a bug, or did really someone thought that it's a good idea to put it there on the right side of the screen???
Please remove this, ffs.

Question: Is there any chance to see a server browser for AOW in BF2042 in the future?
Or will it be something you wont even consider like replacing specialists with actual soldiers?
- 4 years ago@Sooxzay this is a hero shooter they have shoehorned under the Battlefield name. There's not even a way to switch teams, or lock a squad, or even see where your gunner is looking as a pilot. The entire game is designed for solo play. They do not care about us or what we want out of this game, and the player counts show that we're not playing it.

The moment I rush into an objective a C5 gets rammed into my technical and now with the decrease in vehicles and increased vehicle spawn timer
Vehicle players will just stay back at the map to avoid losing a vehicle to a C5 drone and not having to wait for the respawn timer
Also it doesnโt require any skill.
I loved playing vehicles but I have to resort to infantry just to have fun in this game and C5 drones remove the fun altogether except for the people who use the c5 drone - Blackbeardrs4 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
@Straatford87I am aware there are more changes coming in ( Hopes ) of a near future update ( and new maps ), however the update 4.0 addressed many Issues, fixing some while others were not fixed and don't forget the New Bugs created, I wish to point out only a few.
Game Score shows me Ranking up at the end, I have now advanced 3 times to the next Rank but at the beginning of the next round I am the previous Rank.
The VOIP choice of Team or Squad appears to work great, everyone I have communicated with in game was clear, I do take Issue with the Mike continuous on (aware many play this way but the background is noise in a headset during a match) The players who did have voice activated changed this thankfully.
C5 can still be attached to Drones!
I found the M5a3 attachments to be more as the description states, except armored piercing.
Spotting is troublesome, instead of a highlighted spot you get a marker.
I have been Reporting this much needed fix since the Alpha play Test and there is still no response or fix! The Aircraft flying (settings) are designed with a console joy pad which has joysticks for flight, so Where is the Joystick capability for PC Gamers?
I have not had a chance to check out all fixes Yet, while there are still many needed fixes, some New ones were created. Update 4.0 was needed but New Content / maps are Life Blood!
Suggestion: TEST the updates prior to release to the public, make Friday afternoon a Play Test for the Developers ONLY, this will allow the planned fixes to be fixed before Update Release so there is Less Hate or Friction with the Players who Buy & Support this Game

Because nobody answered (unless I missed it), it's the weapons you squad mates running with. At least from what we could figure out yesterday, this seemed to align most of the time with what the others in my squad were using.

But it still bothers me to rejoin the game every time we finish the map all over again (which means we can play 3 times in a row on the same map). This has been written many times, and I haven't noticed anyone from Dice responding to it. Please, make a SERVER BROWSER just like in previous battlefields. I realize that the game was designed typically for the battle royal "hazard zone", which causes constant matchmaking again, but for God's sake, it's time to go back to the roots.

Hi @Straatford87 I've just left a game in Oceania because I'm still just getting farmed by a nightbird pilot (everyone in Oceania knows who it is even though they constantly change their name). Why was this vehicles ridiculously overpowered anti infantry rockets not addressed. This is the key thing ruining the game as mentioned by many many players. The rest of the helicopters didn't need changing or moving slot etc this specific vehicle with that specific weapon needed to either be removed entirely or heavily treated for balance. It is also embarrassing for the community team on BF2042 that you even tweet and retweet content of people ruining the game for others and just shows how out of touch the team is with the majority of people playing the game. You have the data. Look at the metrics. There shouldn't be a way that a single man vehicle should be able to go on 80-0 on spree (of which 25 kills are them farming afk forced spawns at the start of the game and the bot wave). DO NOT LET THIS GO MONTHS BEFORE BEING ADDRESSED. This is a live service game and all that needs to be done is tweaking values or disabling the anti infantry rockets. This vehicle is more overpowered than the 12g frag rounds which were instantly disabled once that was discovered. Please please address this and make the game enjoyable to experience as a regular non-streamer overpowered vehicle abuser.

Bro, I think the Nightbird is balanced well right now.
You can more easily shoot the pilot out, it's a bit harder (heavier) to control, and it's now one shot kill with the Bolte. There are other multiple ways to bring the bird down.
The thing is that your're dealing with one of the (if not THE) best heli pilot in BF2042 lol, and you're just unlucky he's in your region. Lol
AsheBF. I watch his streams. He's insane. Is the second legit highest ranked player with Rank 300+, and has over 1600 hours in the game. Of course he will dominate. Lol

This is probably the one thing I believe needs to be addressed soonish.
RE your other points, yeah getting farmed isn't fun but there are counters to it that many people have successfully achieved. For one its much easier to shoot pilots out now, hacking helis is a great way to get them to go away, or just stay out of their way entirely (ie indoors). Granted, not all objectives have cover in the right places, but enough of them do that you can still be in the fight exclusively against infantry if you want.
Of course nobody should be un-killable, if you're able to find the right squad you can take out basically anyone with ease. Teamwork is essential, and now that VOIP is a thing it should theoretically be easier to achieve.
- 4 years ago@techb00mer Yeah not sure why the autospawn is even still in the game, unless of course it dropped you into a protected spawn area where you couldn't be killed until you ran/drove out but even that would probably still get camped. There's definitely ways to counter nightbird but from the new players perspective (which hopefully there will be more of) what tools do you have? okay AA launcher I'll try that! but thats not going to work against even a half decent nightbird pilot let alone a good one because they can splash kill you with the rockets either before you lock on or after they flare your rocket. If they had to hold the aimpoint of the miniguns on you to kill you then it would give you more of a chance. The rockets just don't have a comparative counter play option currently.
