Hello there,

Next week, we will be rolling out a small Quality of Life Update to address some immediate issues that have been brought to our attention following Update 5.2.

It has been a blast witnessing your reactions to Hourglass as you got to grips with new routes to take on our final reworked location.

While we cannot share details with you today, we’d encourage you to keep your eyes peeled on our Social Channels next week for a look towards what is over the horizon.

For now though, keep those Battlefield clips coming in!

Changelog

AI Soldiers

  • AI Soldiers will no longer stand mindlessly firing at Irish’ Fortification System, because well, they have intelligence, right?

Gameplay Improvements

  • Resolved an issue that resulted in the Underbarrel Smoke Grenade dissipating too quickly within certain weather conditions.
  • Improved scenarios that resulted in players receiving explosive damage through walls.
  • Fixed an exploit that caused players to keep downed players in a Being Revived state.
  • Lowered Dozer's Shield Bash Range by 16%.
  • Reduced Horizontal Recoil Pull on the K30.

Hazard Zone

  • Resolved an issue that resulted in a downed Specialist standing up during the revive process.

  • Does the patch address the AT&T unable to connect issue experienced by so many, myself included?

  • Pleaseeeeeeew before the final update can you give tanks less mass value? They are too clunky / slow / lethargic / sluggish / unresponsive / lazy. Please reduce the mass values / inertia, they have too much momentum. I cannot quickly brake nor accelerate nor change directions. 2042 soldiers are a lot faster than BF4 soldiers, but Tanks are slower than then. At least to keep tanks competitive enough to push alongside infantry. 
    please make tanks more agile at low speed  maneuverability. We’d trade anything for this, you name it, reduced armor, reduced damage, reduced range. MBTs don’t want to camp but this slow speed curse doesn’t allow for close quarters support of our infantry. Leave the Railgun tank to be a slow sniper camper but give MBTs a stronger engine or decreased weight or something because rn, they are far too floaty & very unforgiving if we make a wrong turn it takes multiple seconds to slow down, change direction & reverse. By that time C5 will be on us, so we can’t really push.

    Before season 6 pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Otherwise tank driving will be an agony forever.

    TLDR, can you make MBT tank driving tighter/ more rigid? Especially at low speeds, so that it’s possible to quickly change direction. 

    one more- 

    can you give the option to lock the 3rd person camera to the cannon barrel? So that way they are in sync & my aim is always the same as when im aiming? Like in BF4.
    Sometimes its really disorienting to have them detached, we should at least have the choice. 

  • Agreed, Tanks have been so weak in so many ways it's near impossible to last a few minutes on the Battlefield without dying by infantry or dying from air vehicles. Tanks need to be much more maneuverable and faster for turning.

    I drove in reverse yesterday and pressed on the accelerator to go forward and it kept on driving backwards. I thought something was so off. It felt like my inputs had no meaning to how I drive.

    My great gaming friend that I've meet since Battlefield 3 hates how bad the developers destroyed the Tank in 2042 that he barley plays with me on 2042 because of the lack of power and horrible response the Tanks are in this game.

    We should be able to push a objective and feel like Tanks can help Attack an objective that needs to be captured.

    I honestly think to many specialists have C5. It should be just Sniper class and they don't have access to Assault, LMG, or SMG's. Would prevent the unpredictable situations of not knowing who has C5. Assault shouldn't have Med Pen's. Makes them to aggressive and not relying on Medical assistance from Support class.

    Class system should be like BF4.

    Medic was a Medic

    Recon was recon

    Support class supported the team with Ammo

    Assault class had Assault Rifles

    Engineer class had rockets.

    As much as I want to love 2042 it will never be my favorite Battlefield compared to BF4 and BF3.

  • My other complaint in the game is getting sniped by the Tor shot across the map from their deployment when I just spawn in the deployment in a helicopter especially the Attack helicopter and the stealth helicopter. Drying by a single shot while in a Stealth helicopter when just deploying is beyond frustrating.

    The range on the Tor needs to be reduced to like 250 meters. If it goes beyond that it should do less damage like 10 to 20% damage. Not 50% to 100% per shot. The Tor is the worst camping vehicle in the game.

    The only way you can take out a skilled Tor player is to use team work in a Stealth helicopter which is impossible if there's also a skilled Wildcat player next to the Tor.

    Tor shouldn't have never been created for a Battlefield game. Only vehicle I'm expecting to camp is a Wildcat because it's the ones needing to protect the sky. Not the Tor.

    Still more balance to be made with vehicles in 2042.

  • @T0TALfps Excellent. Hopefully they fix tank weapon pod bug where it’s stuck on volley pod. Also the equipment like mines being destroyed in a new sector even though it’s clearly in your objective zone
