"Going forward, the Sentinel will now have a 5-second window from its first intercept to take down any additional projectiles it detects, such as Frag Grenades and Anti-Infantry Rockets from Specialists and Vehicles.
Once this initial intercept time has elapsed, the Sentinel will enter into a recharging state and will no longer be able to intercept any further projectiles for 7.5 seconds before being able to intercept projectiles once again."
Who asked for that ? I'm quite chocked by this bad news !
I don't think it's a good news at all. Irish sentinel was perfectly working like that because only few players were playing with him and using the sentinel. Now the sentinel is completely useless, you did a massive huge nerf that make sentinel useless !
Cooldown is a good idea, but seriously 5 secondes ? and 7.5 to reload ???
If you ever tested your game you would know it will make sentinel totally useless specially in some gamemodes like Rush.
Please reduce the cooldown to 0.5 sec and add a capacity of 10 ammo, and 2 sec to reload after the ammo go down to 0.
Thanks
It isn't mentioned in this post, but there was a Twitter post that clarified that multiple Irish sentinels in close proximity will coordinate such that if there is an incoming projectile, only one will go into shootdown mode. While that one is shooting stuff down, any others will remain in standby. When that one goes into cooldown (or is destroyed by being shot or whatever), if another projectile arrives, another sentinel will go active.
This means that with 2 sentinels you can reduce the period when you're defenseless, and with 3+ you should never have a time when one isn't able to be active.
I'm not sure how this will take into account the fact that projectiles are coming in from different directions, and thus presumably any given projectile will enter the shootdown area of one sentinel first before it's in range for the others to shoot down. I see the possibility for bugs here.
Assuming it does work properly, it isn't as bad a nerf as I originally thought. Even with their current behavior I often see 2 sentinels placed pretty close to each other.
Still definitely a nerf, though, so I'm still confused as to how this is a response to Irish being underutilized. But I don't think it's the end of the world or makes Irish useless. I'll still play him.
