Where to start…
I normally never do something like this, I mainly only leave a comment or message for something that truly captivates me and I’ve only done that once ever. But for this series? I could write hundreds.
PvZ has always been near and dear to my heart. I’ve played all of its major installments and with each one I’ve made major memories on. I remember the times where I’d tell my friends about the matches I would lose as a kid on PvZ Heroes. I would always get home from school to watch videos of PvZ2 and try for myself. I got to the Modern Day until my account was deleted but it was kind of a blessing in disguise getting to play through the game again.
I remember one of my first games on the PlayStation was the PvZ GW1 and that took over my childhood. It was my first game once I got an Xbox and I remember awaiting the release of GW2 so badly that I would watch for anything new about it. I still remember little me freaking out over the E3 trailer for GW2. A few months into playing I had met a friend of mine named Bouncy. He and I met in a Cats vs Dinos (please bring it back!) game and we lived on opposite sides of the U.S. Just last summer I got to meet him in person for the first time and I owe it to this franchise. We’ve been friends for about 8 years now. He’s moved on in life as he’s reached adulthood and I’m almost there with him now. We still chat but all I can think of is how time just flies.
Just a few months ago I finally hit the max rank on my Xbox account for GW2, mastering everyone including the twilight and unicorn chompers (fun fact: some town hall events let you play as and level up the unicorn chomper). It was a long grind, taking over 9 months but spending days, playing on both garden fiestas, and finishing the max rank grind with Bouncy, I don’t regret it for a minute.
Me and my parents would always play the original game. I still remember beating Zomboss for the first time and I still cringe to this day when I think of how many times I jammed out to the ending dance scene as a kid. I downloaded it on the Xbox as well and would spend hours in the endless mode, mowing down hoard after hoard.
I could go on and on and on about this franchise. What you people created (whether you’re a community member or developer) I cannot thank you enough. You’ve given me a lifelong friend and endless memories. Now, I won’t bring up any wishes for GW3 even though it’s the only game I could ever ask for ever, but know that this series has changed my life for the better. I’m sure that I’m not the only one. As far as a kid’s game go (or honestly any game for that matter), you guys seriously knocked it out of the park.
Thank you to everyone who worked on this and to all of the people who play this incredible franchise. Happy Birthday PvZ! I’m so happy you’re still going strong! And thank you kind reader for sticking it out and reading all this. To more memories and greater days, thank you for everything.
Love,
