Pvz will always be my favourite game franchise.
I first found about it when I visited a neighbour for a reason i can't remember. He showed me a pool level from pvz 1 and I really liked the art style and design of most plants especially sunflower. I played the free online version for quite a while before getting the full game. I played every single game in the franchise and enjoyed all of them, but Gw2 crearly stands above all others. I also really enjoyed Gw1 and it's aesthetic. I really liked how it felt so diffrent from the tower defense games while at the same time having that original pvz feel which is mostly a result of the amazing art style intertwined with certain gameplay choices such as having plants always defend in Gardens and Graveyards and have the garden ops game mode which mimicked the tower defense games quite well.
I had a lot of with gw1, though not as much as with gw2. I can still remember watching the trailer and being annoyed I couldn't get the game at that exact moment. It felt like the next step for the franchise. While it did lose that original pvz feel since the game no longer forced the traditional roles upon the two factions and the game was no longer about fighting in fighting in a normal town, the new trajectory was even more enjoyable. I liked playing Garden and Graveyards especially to get to the final point with the special mini game, but I only enjoyed playing with the plants so it felt annoying I couldn't help the zombies push us back all the way to it. In gw2 I could finally attack as the plants and that felt and still feels awsome. Gw2 also had such cool maps, I truly loved the time travel theme and the maps on the moon.
Some of my best memories are from playing the Boss hunt game mode. Every Friday after school I would so excited to see what's in store. The trail of gnomus was such a cool update.... I remember how much It took me to finally get torchwood and hovergoat. Gw2 in it's peak was truly something else. Last year when there was that insane discount my firend and my sister bought me gw2 on steam so we could all play together. Back in the day I could only play the game with my sister on splits screen which was pretty terrible. It was very fun to play with my friend as well. My sister also got me the sunflower plushie I always wanted when I was little ( I couldn't get one since my relatives from Canada didn't realise what they were supposed to buy though they did get Risk PVZ edition )
I am really glad I got to experience this masterpiece.
