For me, I remember vividly watching pvz gw1 gameplay on youtube, and being absolutely stunned by plasma pea's design. Just wow. After some time, I got pvz gw2 on console, and of course, I loved it. It was such a great time. For my favourite character, while it is a close call, is between plasma pea and the gw2 exclusive, twilight chomper. Both got me hooked to the game! The first time i bought ps plus, the online subscription, the first game i played was pvz gw2. It was amazing, really. Such a step up from the AI opponents in single play!
