Community ManagerHappy 16th to the PvZ franchise! i'm definitely starting to feel old now... crazy to think its been this long!
As someone who's been around for a while i feel its important to answer these, and i feel kinda obliged to it after everything this franchise's provided to me over the years, even if a little late.
As for the questions...
What is your first memory of Plants vs Zombies?
PVZ 2! but i mean the REALLY old versions... with only 3 worlds, the topdown map and all that, probably the first game i've had the honor of playing ever! we didn't even have gargs yet.
What is your favourite Plants vs Zombies game?
GW2 for sure. i don't have over a thousand hours on it for nothing! its genuinely my favorite multiplayer game ever and it's gonna be tough for anything to surpass it.
What is your favourite character of the whole franchise?
If we're talking playable it's probably the stock footsoldier from both GWs... his kit is really consistent and simple but still a threat regardless of player skill, but if we're talking in general then there's no surpassing Crazy Dave! i don't think its a hunch saying he's one of the most recognizable characters in gaming as a whole!
What was your favourite interaction with other players?
Honestly in spite of playing almost exclusively GW2 these days, being max rank all that, i've seen some pretty angry folks at me just for that, though one interaction i liked was much the opposite: a green plate (~rank 1200) actually wanted to know how'd i get so good at it, so i went about it and told them the specifics (or however much i was willing to type, typing on PS sucks...) i'm always willing to help folks who wanna know stuff and don't jump to confrontation at someone for being more experienced.
Do you own any Plants vs Zombies merch?
Used to... don't remember what happened but i used to have plushes for sunflower, peashooter, and both basic and conehead zombies. one thing i did keep was this tiny bloomerang figure that i keep close to my desk at all times. i like it quite a bit.
What is your funniest or best memory?
Two funny events that i distinctively wanna share because they stuck out to me:
1) We were playing plants on Moon Base Z, i was running law pea, we capped the first point rather quick and then at the big mail pile at the entrance to the lunar hotel (transition between Point 1 and Point 2) were about 5 stock engineers, no cosmetics nor anything, doing the "rump shaker" taunt together and almost perfectly in sync, they weren't attacking, so most of our team stopped to watch, some even chose to join them! until an agent pea came along and crashed our party, lame.
2) This was during the Garden Fiesta back in Sep 14th; it was a game on gnome bomb in colizeum and i was running agent pea, after i chose my character and spawned a little late because i doing something else, so i spawned and noticed that beside one of the walls there were two benches a table and in one of then was a vampire flower on the other end, a stuffy flower, they'd both placed their heal flowers on the table and were taunting at each other, we didn't have many folks watching though as the zombies were pushing into our spawn and winded up vanquishing everyone there...
Anything else to share?
As i've mentioned at the start, this is a franchise that matters like no other to me; and seeing it grow over the years has been great, even if it's slowing down now, here's to hoping we'll be seeing more in the coming years! and don't forget us in the GW side either!
