Dear Gardeners, Sun Collectors, and Defenders of the Lawn,

Plants vs. Zombies™ 3: Evolved is now live in Early Access in select territories.

The Sunflower Society, a division within a division of PopCap Games dedicated to demonstrating deep Dave devotion, is absolutely, unequivocally, and botanically thrilled to announce that Plants vs. Zombies™ 3: Evolved is now beginning a new phase of development and availability.

Starting today in Ireland and the Philippines, and spreading through a limited number of other regions over the coming months, players on mobile devices can experience a living, growing, and occasionally chaotic celebration of plants, strategy, and the fine art of keeping zombies out of houses.

The Sunflower Society is thrilled to report this development. We have charts. We have graphs. We have a sunflower who just keeps clapping.

📝 We’ve Been Up to Something

Last autumn, we released the Seedling Build in select regions to learn what players wanted. You had thoughts. Many thoughts. We wrote them down. Here are some of the things we heard, and some changes you can expect starting in Early Access:

  • You want to do WORK work.

Who are we to say no? We’ve made levels longer with more meaningful battles so that your hyper-hybridized Tier 3 plants have more time to shine. ✨

  • You want more quality time with each plant.

We’re being more deliberate about introducing new plants and creating levels that help you build mastery with them. Aww. 🥰

  • You swiped left on avatars.

We’ve removed avatars from the game and put the focus back on the appropriate stars of the show, the plants. 🌱

  • You want to focus on the yard instead of the neighborhood.

We understand. Our grandma used to yell at us to keep the windows closed so our A/C isn’t cooling the whole neighborhood, too. The experience now centers on your lawn. Where it belongs. Where the zombies are.✌️

Before worldwide launch later this year, the Sunflower Society will fervently take notes to ensure each garden is thriving, the zombies are appropriately overwhelming, and Dr. Zomboss meets all certification requirements for being diabolical.

As with the Seedling Build, your feedback during Early Access will help shape PvZ3 as it grows. We think of it like watering plants…except our plants have projectiles.

🌿 Inside Early Access

For those just joining us in regions where available, here’s what you can expect from Plants vs. Zombies 3: Evolved:

  • Beloved lane-based tower defense gameplay.
  • You can merge plants together in wild and wacky ways! We may or may not have cleared this with the appropriate agricultural authorities!
  • Dr. Zomboss is trying to take Crazy Dave’s very special meteorite that he uses to merge plants! Rude. Well, you’re going to have to deal with that. We believe in you.
  • We’re still making changes to content, features, and progression. We’re paying close attention to community feedback, and aim to evolve the game over time.

You can also check out all the deep details beyond this at our FAQ.

As PvZ3 releases in each region, we’ll be putting down roots and keeping access open all the way through to our worldwide launch. For those joining us in Early Access, it is, well, early. So as the months go on we’ll be planting new systems and features, pruning things that aren’t working, and steadily growing the experience with more content and improvements. Like any well-tended garden, the game will continue to evolve over time.

Whether you’re joining us in Early Access as we take the game from seedling to sprout, or you join us at the worldwide launch once we’re ready to take root, we’re honored to have you in the garden. Either way, the lawn needs defending. The zombies are coming.  Be sure to follow our official socials on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, and Facebook in the meantime. Thanks for helping us keep the zombies in check!

Warm regards,

The Sunflower Society 🌻
