Punishing One Update

We have examined the match-ups of Executor fleets vs. Leviathan fleets in Fleet Arena. While nearly all combinations of Executor fleets perform as expected against Leviathan (i.e. lose), there is one particular fleet that is overperforming against a specific build of Leviathan fleets. Unfortunately that Leviathan build is the best counter to a Leviathan mirror-match.

When considering our choices of courses of action, we are satisfied with how Punishing One is performing in all other battles. Due to this we are not currently planning any action to adjust Punishing One directly.

However, the counter to Punishing One in a Leviathan fleet is starting TIE Dagger out on the field. This defense has a win-rate much more in-line with our expectations. But since TIE Dagger in the starting line-up is detrimental to a mirror match that Leviathans find themselves in frequently, so our plan is to make some buffs to TIE Dagger to make it the desired unit to bring to a Leviathan mirror-match while still being the best counter for Executor. This way Leviathan owners can still have the win rates they expect against other Leviathans **and** be the favorite against Executor/Punishing One fleets.

As for when this change to TIE Dagger will be implemented, it is contingent on a lot of factors. Suffice it to say that it will make its way into the game at the earliest possible window.

  • How can you do that on purpose ?!

I'm a 1,5 year player. I choose very quickly to go on profundity over exec. Even if thé farm was harder and more costly. They used to beat each other safely and that was fine (exec/prof) for me.

Now, you're releasing a 3 * ship which made that matchup impossible and claim that this IS "on purpose"... How date you ? You Can't imagine how i (and i'm not thé only one) i feel now, After such an investment over last year on profundity reqs, to be stuck in every exec match up.

So angry and upset you broke that balance and find it "cool"....  It's cool to break player who farm an harder capital ship to farm and more récent récent one ! Nice move

What about the shady deal with the 10 and 12 pull packs not being in the store and why did they only pop up after I bought 4 of the 5 pull pack? Why can’t these be in the store and why hasn’t this been addressed? All this does is discourage me from spending money on crystals for the next event.

  • How about the potential bug with Thrawn vs Exe with P1 where Ties are not getting their evasion and crit damage reduced.

  • You need to refund everyone's crystals and let us decide if we will take to 7* or not. It's totally unacceptable for you to make this change after people have spent. Not a good is it?

You're acting like this is the first time a new ship or character has needed adjustment after release. Maybe don't blow money or crystals the instant something drops...

  • I still think there need to be some tweaks to P1 that a 3 star P1 feels stronger than a 7 stars and almost feels like NS zombies in the early days of NS that players that geared up zombie got punished vs those that didn't and this kinda feels the same way. Also Is the unique jumpmaster 5000 suppose to persist through death?

  • That's fairly bad.  I don't care that much, but  people have spent months building up sith assassin to help Levi mirror matches and then your going to just hand out a buff to dagger to make it the better ship in a mirror?  Making what they did fairly useless

A better solution could be to tweak the Leviathan's kit or the Sith Fighter's to call out the Punishing One in a way that would neutralize the advantage it gets versus that starting lineup.  This would have the dual effect of making a very old ship more useful while also protecting the heavy investments into relic 9 Sith Assassins that a great many players have made to stay on top during Leviathan mirror matches.  Altering the TIE Dagger in the way you're describing well merely create a new arms race towards relic 9 Sith Troopers and we'll be back in the exact same place as we currently are in mirror matches, only at a very heavy cost to players that they shouldn't need to make to balance out an oversight by the developers when designing the Punishing One.  Rant over, but this would be, by far, the more player friendly option than altering the TIE Dagger.

  • “When considering our choices of courses of action, we are satisfied with how Punishing One is performing in all other battles. Due to this we are not currently planning any action to adjust Punishing One directly.” - well you just lost a reasonable amount of the player base. You simply spit in the face of Profundity owners who spent time and money in your game. SHAME! Your actions are a good example how not to develop a game…
