This marketplace is a massive insult to both players and creators. I’m all for creators being fairly compensated; if they want to charge for their work, so be it. But this isn't how you do it.
A 30% royalty share is a joke when industry standards like Steam or the App Store give the artist 70% or more. This benefits EA, not the people actually making the content.
Let’s be honest, moving Kits to the Marketplace has little to do with 'technical limitations' and everything to do with DRM and control. By forcing Kits into a closed ecosystem, you’re stripping away consumer choice, and the virtual currency “Moola” obscures real-world costs and encourage overspending. There’s also no mention of how players can get a refund if content purchased on the marketplace is faulty or looks trash in-game.
This is just EA doing less work for more money. Instead of making great content and fixing the broken, buggy DLC you still charge full price for, you’re now outsourcing the labor to the community and taking a 70% cut of their hard work. You never actually cared about 'paywalled' mods; you just hated that you weren't the ones profiting from them. I won’t be supporting this, and no creator should either. You're robbing the community blind while the actual game suffers.
