A 30% cut while creators do 100% of the work isn’t “paid fairly”. Even with the platform maintenance argument, the numbers don’t support the claim. A creator earns about $1.20 per sale while EA receives $1.74–$3.49 depending on the bundle used. Some creators may see more visibility here than on a small Patreon, but the volume required to make this worthwhile is ridiculously high. Presenting this model as fair to creators feels disconnected from the actual math. A 50/50 split would be far more reasonable.
Meanwhile, long‑standing bugs remain unresolved despite years of player requests, and instead we’re getting a feature nobody asked for. There’s also still no communication about future expansions, despite promises of more transparency.
EA already has a reputation for prioritizing monetization over game quality, and decisions like this reinforce that perception. It’s frustrating to watch the game’s issues pile up while new revenue systems take priority.
