Cannot start because game data is missing or damaged.
I have been getting the error message "Cannot start because game data is missing or damaged.If you have Mods installed please remove them and try again. If not, please repair or reinstall the game via Origin" ever since the most recent update. I have no mods or CC downloaded. I have gone through the support help 4 times, which involved "repairing," uninstalling the EA app from my mac, uninstalling the sims 4 from my mac, reinstalling them, etc. My game still will not even load. The advisor recommended posting on the forum for help.
Stuck on loading screen
Hello, Since about 4 days my game keeps getting stuck on the loading screen. When this happens differs, but I don't really know why. Sometimes it will get stuck before getting to the main menu, other times I already played (and traveled) in gameplay and then all of a sudden when traveling to a different lot it won't load. I've deleted all my mods and even deleted a save file and started a new one. It keeps happening. What can I do about this?
Texture problems
Hello everyone, ever since i did the last update my sims texture seems broken, my sims appear with a question mark on their faces and their body and face are covered in white and red squares. I tried fixing the game multiple times, I uninstalled and and reinstalled but nothing changed. Is there something I can do? Please I'm desperate and I have no idea what to do.
Broken Update
Hello, I was wondering what to do about a broken update. It updated all the way until 99% but it will not finish the update. it froze and hasn't been fixed since. I have tried everything. I have tried updating my macbook, rebooting it, and deleting and redownloading the EA app. I tried clearing my cache. Nothing is making it fixed. What can I do? Please help...
Packs got Deleted!
I got a new computer and downloaded everything in my Sims 4 game to my External Hard Drive. Now when I plug it in to my new computer after getting the EA app, none of my packs are registering as me owning them. All of my CC is still there, but all my purchased DLC won't show up in the EA app as me owning it. What folder do my sims packs go in on the mac/external hard drive?
Sims stuck on preparing download and calculating time.
I have been trying to update my sims game for a couple of days now. Everytime I press update game, it gets stuck on the preparing update and the calculating time. I've tried clearing the cache and deleting the app and restarting my computer and nothing is working. I am on a Mac. Could someone help me?
The sims 4 not updating at all
So, I've been trying to update my game ever since the new update came out, but it is stuck on preparing, calculating time, ever since then. I tried downloading the update the same day it came out as I always do and this has never happened before. I tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the ea app, I'm at the point where I'm considering uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, but will probably take hours to do so I don't really want do do it, also some thing very weird when it's in this state of eternal preparing the ea app just closes out of no where, like nothing happened, I don't get a pop up that the app crashed or anything it is just not open anymore. By the way my game is on a external hard drive, but there's nothing I can do about it cause is the only way I can play, because my computer dose not have enough space to download the game and I still be able to use it for anything els. I don't know what to do any more.How to Change Game Language to English in The Sims 4?
Hi everyone, I recently downloaded The Sims 4 (Base Game) via the EA App, but during installation, I was only given three language options: Czech, Russian, and Polish. I want to play the game in English, but that option wasn’t available. I’ve already set my EA App account settings to the United Kingdom and selected English as my preferred language. I also switched my MacBook’s system language to English, but the game still doesn’t offer English as a language option. I should mention that I’m currently located in Ukraine. Could this be the reason I only have these three language options? Has anyone else encountered this issue, and is there a way to get English as a language option while in Ukraine? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!
Sims 4 right click not working with newest Mac Update
I've recently updated my MacBook Pro to macOS Sequoia 15.0 and my right click on the Sims is no longer working. I normally have the camera in Sims 3 camera mode so this is really annoying for me. I know there are other ways to play the game, but I've been playing with he Sims 3 camera since the Sims 3! I've tried restarting my computer, changing my secondary click on my computer (still doesn't work if it on the left side of trackpad), removed all MODs & CC, restarted the EA App, repaired the Sims 4, uninstalled the Sims 4 and started a brand new game. I don't know if there is anything else I can do, please if you have any suggestions or if this happened to you and you fixed it please let me know! Ever since I updated my game for Grim Week 2 it started this little pop-up that comes up fine but when I go to PLAY the game and click off the pop up it greys out my whole main menu screen so it where I can click continue my household or anything- (and it's not the main menu mod because it happened before I even put it in.)

I haven't played sims in a while, since before the very first lovestruck update. anyway, I just updated two days ago, and my game won't work. The game opens and runs okay, it was taking longer to load than usual. I was able to use CAS. But when it came to playing, none of my sims would listen to what I told them. They would just randomly start dancing. One sim was in the front yard but the game said she was playing video games. I completely deleted all of my mods and cc (after backing up) and was still having the same problems. It's super frustrating.Snowy Escape install issue
The EA app is saying Snowy Escape is installed for my game, but when I open the game it's not installed. The pack isn't showing up in the Sims Packs on my computer either. How do I get the EA app to realize that Snowy Escape isn't installed? I've tried completely uninstalling the Sims 4 and the EA app, but the EA app is still saying Snowy Escape is installed when the base game isn't even installed. I've tried removing all CC and mods, but haven't had any luck
New to Sims 4. How to download onto Mac book air.
Hi I haven’t played the sims 4 for a long time due to not having a pc and now I’ve just purchased a new Mac book air (2024). I don’t know where to start with the sims or how I even download it onto the MacBook. On the PC I had origin and downloaded it via that so do I have to do that with the MacBook or is it a different set up? Also being a newbie to sims again what packs would people recommend as if I remember right the base game is quite average. thanks, B
CAS not loading ?
CAS on my sims 4 game is will not load. The game itself loads fine, but when I go to edit sims nothing loads. If I try to start a new game CAS won’t load. It’s stuck on the loading screen when in gameplay. And it’s stuck on the white screen when making a new game. I do have mods but I have them updated. Seems like this is the only thing not loading. I recently downloaded the Sims 4 on my Mac and it was running just fine until one day I tried to access the community gallery to download a house to my lot and it said that a connection was required. When I selected the 'connect' option it would just load forever and not do anything. I have tried clearing my computers cache, restarting and updating my computer itself, resetting my wifi router, resetting the Sims 4, and even deleting the whole EA app as well as Sims 4 off of my computer, only to redownload it and have the same problem. Hi there! My game won’t launch on my Mac after the update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Mods are gone. I’ve tried repairing the game. I’ve been searching for answers for 8 hours, nothing is working. Mostly what I’m seeing is for PC and I play on my Mac. Has anyone figured out what to do and how to fix? i just downloaded the sims 4 game and ea app a couple of hours ago and my game wont launch at all i have no custom content or anything and my game wont launch i'm playing on a macbook air 2020 which i'm pretty sure is compatible, but other than that my game will not launch every time i try to launch it pops up on the sidebar then disappears and says "application not responding" i've already cleared cache, repaired the game, restarted my macbook and updated it i've done everything and it still wont launch does anyone have a fix for this i really want to get back on this game.can't download my expansion packs
Hi, EA randomly disappeared from my laptop (MacBook. pro 2018) so I redownloaded and reinstalled sims 4. All my worlds are still there but not my expansion packs?? I have around 20 so would LOVE to get them back. Does anyone know how I can redownload them? I tried doing what it says online but this hasn't worked. Thanks.

Hi! I've got a Mac and play the sims on the ea app. The game requires an update now and as I click to update the game it won't update cause of not enough disk space, it says there's a certain amount of mg free space, so I try to free up some space by deleting a couple of downloads and retry the update again. But after I retry to update, each time it requires more free mg space. How do I free up the disk space?? (idk if what I explained made sense but yeah)I cant locate my mods folder after update
I recently updated Sims4, and the new EA app, and now i'm unable to find my mods folder. I used to be able to go into documents>electronic arts> sims4> mods folder but now when i go into electronic arts the only folder thats in there is an EA App folder with nothing in it? I have searched everywhere for a mods folder and there isn't anything with the new EA app, so now I cant access past mods i used to use and I cant add any more mods . I am trying to download the sims 4 on my mac with an external hard drive. On the EA app, when I try to download the game, it immediately says "something went wrong" and that I need to give EA app full disk access in settings. The frustrating thing is that EA app DOES have full disk access in settings. I do not know what to do so that EA will recognize that it has full disk access. I have tried clearing the cache (manually as well), restarting the app, restarting my computer, etc. Please help!!!!Why can't I download Sims 4 to my hard drive?
Every time I go to download The Sims 4 to my hard drive from the EA app, I get a message saying "something went wrong" almost immediately. I have enough space on my hard drive so that isn't the issue. I have a 'My Passport' hard drive, could that be the issue? Do I need a different hard drive? So confusedExpansion Pack Not Downloading
MAC User I bought Get to Work, Toddler Stuff, and Outdoor Retreat. Everytime I try to download them I get this error (pictured below). I bought other stuff packs after trying to download them and they have worked. It is just these three. I have cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled EA and the game, restarted the app, restarted my laptop, probably more stuff I don’t even remember. i tried contacting EA Support twice, they are useless. Neither case got resolved and I’m currently trying to contact them again. I paid for those extra content packs and can’t even play with them. So, my game was running great, until I received a notice the EA App on my MacBook was updating. After that, my game wouldn’t load. I removed all the mods, tray files, and saves, and still the game is malfunctioning. I deleted both the EA App and the game. Downloaded the EA App and the base game again, and still the game is malfunctioning. It freezes, takes a lot of time to load. Tried repairing it, and the problems persist. If I force quit the game then try to open it again from the EA App, it won’t work. I press the play button, and nothing happens. It seems there is a software conflict between the new EA App and my MacBook. My MacBook is fully up to date and I have the newest version of the EA App. Just to be clear, these problems persist without mods, saves, or tray files; they persist after I repair the game, after I delete the electronic entertainment folder and everything inside, and after I deleted and redownloaded both the EA App and The Sims 4 base game. What is the problem?
Sims 4 game won't launch
I play on a mac and at the moment when I try to open the sims 4, either through clicking the app icon on my dock or clicking 'play' through the ea app, it won't open. I click it and the sims 4 ea app icon bounces as if it's going to open but then it doesn't and the ea app pops back onto screen. I've tried doing 'app recovery' for the ea app, i've tried repairing the game and I've removed all mods and CC and nothing has worked.Won't let me play my household
I play on a mac and at the moment am not able to play my households. I am able to get into the game, create a household in CAS and place them in the world but when I click the play button on the household it loads for a few seconds then sends me back to manage worlds. this started yesterday and I dont know what is causing it.

Stuck on pending - then won't repair
Seriously I am at my WITS END. I have paid so much money for these games. Everything was fine, and then I got the 'game is not released' pop up. The game wouldn't repair so I just uninstalled it. Now it won't download. I have done everything - I have cleared my cache, I have downloaded the app again after deleting it - I have all but sacrificed a small animal. I am on a MAC and I just want to play my **bleep** game! It is stuck on pending and won't cancel. Then I try to download it and it starts again. So I make sure I delete the partial downloads. I have tried, I have failed. Please HELPWhy does the new EA app hate me so?!
I hadn't played since July 6, so when I opened the app yesterday, I wasn't able to play until I installed the latest update. Once that was complete, I played the game for maybe an hour, then saved and exited. The next day, I opened the app and it said much of my custom content was missing. Upon closer inspection, I realized that my most recent save file/household had been wiped from the game, as well! All of this is in addition to having to deal with a little window stating that the EA App is "being verified" appearing on my Mac screen for no apparent reason. Whatever happened to just, like, clicking on an icon to open a game? I'd rather play using a physical copy in my external optical drive than deal with all this rigmarole.
EA App won't let me play !
I just downloaded the EA Map on my Mac, since Origin forced me to. I did an update of the sims and now it won't let me open the game, saying it wasn't released yet. Also all the packs I bought seem to be gone. It's saying I only own the deluxe one... Any help is greatly appreciated. :)
