Lots disappearing?
For the last 2 months, any lots I download from the gallery will disappear from my game completely within 3-4 days. It has done it in brand new save files without mods and brand new save files with mods. I try to send my sim to a lot from the gallery and it literally is not there. If I hover over the lot, it shows me the name of the lot (from the gallery) but if I load into it, it is just an empty lot. It also changes the prices on all lots whether it is from the gallery or not. All houses are under $1,000. I have repaired the game over and over again and it continues to happen. I also want to mention that the when this happens, I can’t even view the stone street apartments in evergreen harbor. I believe that may be one of the reasons why this is happening but there is no option to get rid of the apartments in my game.mperkins00956 hours agoSeasoned Newcomer19Views0likes3CommentsMy sims 4 game is not working at all
Hi guys, I play sims 4 on my macbook. Recently i got 2 new packs: Cottage living and horse ranch, i played all day after buying them, later that night i was trying to make a new family and every time it was time to buy a house after making the family it would go back to the picking a world page and glitch. I deleted all my mods to make sure it wasn’t due to a mod being broken, i deleted the localthumbcache.package file, i did everything that’s to do with deleting files. I then deleted the ea app and re installed it and uninstalled sims 4 and re installed it. When i opened it it says i need to download all the packs and i’ll get a notification when it’s done. There is no option to download all the packs and all my family’s i’ve made that wear clothes or hairs from packs are bald with no clothes. It lets me into a game and play for 3 minutes and then it starts glitching and nothing works for example i can’t place any walls and in living mode it says paused even when i unpause it. I then try and save and exit the game and it stays on the saving screen for hours so i turn my laptop off then back on again. I’ve tried to ‘repair’ the game ‘clear the cache’ Nothing is working! I love playing sims and i don’t want to loose all my packs and stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Or does anyone know why this is happening?15Views0likes0CommentsExpansion packs stuck in Steam
I recently transferred from a Windows to a MAC and had to download the sims through EA rather than Steam which I would typically use. A large amount of my expansion packs I bought on Steam and now I only have access to the ones that I bought on EA/Origin. Is there a way to transfer these packs? It’s a good majority of themSolvedtexasrain3 days agoNewcomer40Views0likes1Commentgame freezing
after playing the sims 4 for about 30 minutes. My actions bar starts to slide up my screen, when my sims is not doing an action for about 1 minute. As soon as I get the sim to do an action it stops. but' if I don't catch it happening quickly the action bar will fill to the top of my Mac screen and freeze my screen. I have to turn my computer off, because trying to force quit it doesn't work.justdanceforever4 days agoRising Newcomer12Views0likes0CommentsGame Data Incomplete, grey llamas, red and white sims, broken textures
Hello, I haven't really had any issues with my Sims 4 game before so I haven't used these message boards very much, but I've had a problem show up that I can't seem to find a solution for. I've checked various other posts with a similar problem but none of those fixes helped. I updated the game yesterday and when I went to load my save (right before you choose a world to play), a message popped up that said: Game Data Incomplete Not all game data could be loaded. The save game references neighbourhoods that have been uninstalled or otherwise are no longer available. If you continue playing, you will encounter missing data and may have unexpected results. If you save the game, there will be no way to recover the missing data. What I thought was weird was after updating the game and before starting it, I decided to buy two stuff packs (because 50% off) and installed those. When I was scrolling through all the packs I had, I realized none of them were installed, literally NONE, and I had to go through and re-download every single pack. Once they were all redownloaded, I started the Sims and that's when I saw the error message. After googling for hours trying to fix the problem and I had felt like I exhausted all options, I decided I was just going to go through my save file and save every household and lot I created to my library and then completely start over because I was so fed up. However, when I went into the worlds to start saving lots, I saw all those weird grey llamas. They weren't in every world, only Del Sol Valley, Sulani, and Willow Creek, all the rest (from what I recall) had no llamas. In the worlds with the llamas, all my created lots were gone and only base game lots remained. I have tried to repair the game in Origin (three times now), restarted my computer (twice), uninstalled and reinstalled Origin, moved folders around in my Sims 4 folder (taking out folders one by one to see which one is the issue), and then finally completely removed my Sims 4 folder and placed it on desktop so it would regenerate upon opening again. When I took out my Sims 4 folder, I opened the Sims, started a new game, made a random sim, and when I went to choose a world the llama thumbnails were still there. I play with mods and cc, but removed the folder while trying to fix this issue. I'm not really sure what to do next, I was set on just starting a new save file and restarting, but once I saw that the llamas were still there even after the Sims 4 folder regenerated I feel kind of stuck. If you have any ideas on how to fix please respond! Also sorry if this seems super jumbled and all over the place, I wanted to add as much detail as possible and I'm also typing this at 4:30am LOL. (edit - changed thread title to cover all related issues with this problem, Bluebellflora)Solvedtayphillips115 days agoNot applicable33KViews1like699Comments[READ FIRST] Saves, CC/Mods or Library items disappeared? iCloud issues
ISSUE Saves One minute your game is working fine. The next you go to play and the Load Game button has disappeared, there seems to be no way to play an existing save. CC/Mods Newly added CC/Mods do not show up in your game despite being properly installed (for help with installing 3rd party content see here) or CC randomly starts disappearing from your game. Library items Saving Lots, Rooms and Households to your in-game Library doesn't work CAUSE Most likely the internal storage on your Mac is too full and iCloud is pushing any newly added files to your Documents folder in the cloud. This can happen at anytime. You can check the storage level by clicking on the Apple in the top left corner of the menu bar then About This Mac, then the Storage tab. By default, the game stores your Saves, Mods, Tray (where your Library items are saved) and all your user game data in a folder called The Sims 4 in Documents > Electronic Arts. If there is no Sims 4 folder in this location the game will recreate a new one each time it is launched. If you have iCloud Drive enabled and set to store your Desktop & Documents folder in the cloud it may be moving your existing Sims 4 folder to the cloud, hence the need to create a new Sims 4 folder every time you launch the game. You can check the status of various files and folders, and what the little cloud icons mean, here. FIX Firstly, you MUST free up some space on your Mac otherwise doing this is pointless. Empty the Downloads folder, go through your data and see what you no longer need, empty the Bin. If you have large Photos, Music and TV libraries consider storing them on an external drive. Instructions here on how to do this for your Photos library, the principle is the same for the Music and TV apps. Open System Preferences and then your iCloud settings. What you click on can vary by macOS, check Apple's help page here if you can't immediately find where to look. This is where you can choose what gets stored in the cloud. We are only interested in two settings, iCloud Drive and Optimise Mac Storage Click on Options... in the iCloud Drive setting and make sure Desktop & Documents Folders is unchecked. Scroll down to the bottom of this Apple help page to understand what happens to your data when you turn off the setting. Back at the iCloud settings window, Uncheck Optimise Mac Storage below the list of apps using iCloud. This means that your Mac will stop pushing files to the cloud when the internal storage is getting full. For more info on this setting read this help page. Once you have successfully stopped iCloud from moving the contents of your Documents folder to the cloud you need to move the Sims 4 folder back into the default location - Macintosh HD > Users > [User] > Documents > Electronic Arts Apple explain here what the status of the little cloud icons mean. If you're feeling brave you could consider creating a symlink and storing your Sims 4 folder on an external drive. Or maybe change your EA App Games Library location to an external Drive.48KViews20likes754CommentsSims 4 repeatedly stuck on infinite loading screens on M4 MacBook Air
I'm experiencing intermittent infinite loading that has made The Sims 4 nearly unplayable on my Mac. The game launches normally, and I can sometimes load into Live Mode, Manage Worlds, or Build Mode. However, even if I can do that, within minutes of playing, one of the loading transitions becomes stuck indefinitely. The plumbob and loading screen keep moving, and the music keeps playing, but the game never finishes loading, so I have to force-quit it. The same transitions might work once or twice and then fail on the next attempt. This has happened when: Going from Live Mode to Manage Worlds Returning from Build Mode on a non-household lot to Manage Worlds Traveling between lots Loading into Live Mode after CAS Reopening a save Mac specifications: 2025 MacBook Air Apple M4 chip 16 GB memory macOS 26.6, build 25G72 I first repaired The Sims 4 through the EA app. Then I let the game generate a completely new Sims 4 folder and tested a brand-new vanilla save and household without adding any of my previous files. I then completely uninstalled The Sims 4, cleared the EA app cache, restarted the Mac, and downloaded the game again from scratch. The problem still occurs with no mods or custom content, a completely fresh Sims 4 folder, brand-new saves and households, every pack deactivated, and only the three base-game worlds available. I have additionally tested the following: A different macOS user profile macOS Safe Mode Fullscreen and Windowed display modes Vertical Sync on and off Lowered graphics settings Laptop Mode Autosave disabled A fully updated version of macOS Adjusted Privacy & Security permissions and restarted Disabled iCloud syncing for Desktop and Documents so the active Sims 4 folder is local Running Apple Diagnostics The game doesn't create a lastException.txt or lastCrash.txt when it becomes stuck. My EA Error Report ID is: 51dc9b7a-0c92-4a8b-80aa-9ec85b0016e1 I apologize for the lengthy post, but I'd really like to get this fixed, as the game is currently unplayable and it seems I'm not the only Mac user with this issue recently.Kenziethezebra10 days agoRising Novice187Views1like12CommentsThe Sims 4 Gallery – Every thumbnail is a red X and every item says “corrupted”
Gallery completely broken - all thumbnails are red X and items say corrupted I am having a persistent problem with The Sims 4 Gallery on Mac. Every single Gallery thumbnail is a red X. If I click on any Gallery item, the game says that the item is corrupted. This happens with ALL Gallery content, including EA and Maxis content. It is not limited to Custom Content or particular creators. I have already completely uninstalled and reinstalled both The Sims 4 and the EA App. I have also cleared the EA and Sims caches, reset the game, and tried a completely different internet connection. I am using an Apple M2 MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM and macOS Tahoe 26.6.2. I have also tested the Sims 4 CDN directly because I suspected this was a connection problem. The domain sims4cdn.ea.com resolves successfully, but I cannot connect to it over HTTPS. Running the curl command to the Sims 4 CDN results in a connection timeout on port 443. I also tested both IPv4 and IPv6 and both timed out. Safari also cannot open the Sims 4 CDN test page and reports Connection timed out. For comparison, normal HTTPS connections work correctly. Apple.com returns HTTP 200 and EA.com returns HTTP 200. I also tested the Sims 4 CDN directly from my phone using cellular data instead of my home Wi-Fi, and the phone also cannot connect to the server. A traceroute to the Sims 4 CDN reaches my router and several upstream hops before stopping responding. The Gallery itself loads the search and listing information, but every image is a red X and selecting an item gives the misleading message that the item is corrupted. Because this happens on a completely clean installation and the Sims 4 CDN cannot be reached from either my Mac or my phone on cellular data, I believe this may be a Sims 4 Gallery CDN or Akamai connectivity issue rather than corrupted game files. Could someone from EA please investigate or confirm whether there is currently an issue with the Sims 4 Gallery CDN? I have deliberately not included mods or Custom Content troubleshooting because this happens with a completely clean installation and affects every Gallery item.23Views0likes0CommentsBack to drinking??
Today my Sim just started cancelling all tasks I set him to do to go autonomously drink water. Repeatedly. For 5 in-game hours. I thought y'all put a stop to autonomous drinking a few updates ago, and this save is more recent than that update. It is a save that has mods attached, but I don't think MC Command Center or **bleep** are causing him to be thirsty for hours when all his needs are met and I'm just trying to make him take care of his infant child and paint.wolfinavoid12 days agoSeasoned Novice22Views0likes1CommentMy pack isn't getting installed

First, I think it's wild there isn't a customer service email or number to assist with game issues. Every time my Sims travel to town, there are no buildings or people to interact with. In my 30+ years of playing this game, I've never encountered this issue. Can someone please assist me.luvujaylen16 days agoRising Newcomer16Views0likes0CommentsCan't install Enchanted by Nature pack
I bought the pack and redeemed the activation code. This was yesterday. When I launch the game, it tells me I own the pack, ea app says I own it. It also says "In-game content"; there's no download button under Manage in the EA app. When I hit the download manager in the game, there's nothing. I've tried taking out my mods/cc. I'm at my wits' end.Solved60Views0likes2CommentsGame Crashes When I Use the Coffee or Tea Makers and Kettles
Hello! I wanted to transfer a post I made under the Mods and Custom Content section to see if it makes more sense here based on what I've found. My game keeps crashing when my controlled sim uses a beverage maker. I'm not getting anywhere doing the typically prescribed CC and mods checks (50/50 method, starting on a new save, placing mods and CC back in Mods folder one-by-one by creator, etc.), and the Mods and Custom Content pages don't have any other suggestions. My ultimate question is: Does this appear to be a CC issue or an issue with Mac? I've copied and pasted the responses here for more details: My game crashes every time my sims use a coffee or tea maker small appliance. This has been an issue for a while in my game and I can't seem to figure out the cause. I have done the 50/50 method three separate times now, and just when I think I've dwindled it down to the CC culprit, as soon as I put back all my mods, it continues to crash. With the 50/50 method, I identified a Pandasama mod and BuildBuy items as "allegedly" causing the crashing. I removed those items, tested in the save again, and it didn't crash. But when I put back all my mods, it crashes again, even though while doing the 50/50 method the game did not crash while I'm testing each of the items separately. I don't know how else to troubleshoot for the crashing. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! For the record, I play on a Mac with an Apple M2 Pro Chip, and it's on the macOS Tahoe Version 26.6.1. If you need any more information on my computer, I'd be happy to provide. Hello! So I've finished testing all my BuildBuy CC and with all my BuildBuy CC in my game, it does not crash. However, when I added my CAS CC folder back as well as the BuildBuy, it crashed. That would indicate that there must be some bad CC in the CAS folder, right? However, when I tested the game with just my CAS CC folder in there, and NOT my BuildBuy CC folder, it did not crash. To clarify, the control test I'm using is my sim getting hot cocoa from using a kettle that came with For Rent. The crashing happens while my sim is drinking the drink. Also, another control is that my Mods, which I also tested separated, are all in the game at the time of testing--I'm only swapping out the CC items at this point because my game did not crash with any of just my mods. Just a quick update on this because I don't know how much longer this will take me to keep going through, but now I'm testing with all my mods and CAS CC installed, and bit by bit I'm adding back my BuildBuy CC. I got about halfway through testing without it crashing, then all of a sudden it starts crashing again. I removed the cluster of sub-folders I tested when it crashed and isolated it thinking that was the culprit and put another cluster of BuildBuy sub-folders in, and it crashed again. I removed those folders, and removed the sub-folders I put in last before the crashing started to essentially go back to before the crashing began again, and it crashed again. This save file is only 6 months old, and I've only been playing in Live mode in it for about 6 weeks (prior to that I was just placing lots and creating sims). Could it possibly be corrupted already? Literally everything else in the game works fine except this singular feature, and all this testing is not bringing me any closer to any solutions. Has there ever been a bug report on small appliances? Could Sims 4 Studio help? Hi there! I have the same problem, and I play on mac as well (apple m3). When a sim drinks tea/coffee/hot chocolate game can crash, but not everytime! For example, it does not crash when my sim goes to his open career lot and drinks coffee there. Also, some kind of tea does not crash game as well. It appeared in 3 different saves with 3 different combinations of mods. I tried 50/50 but got absolutely random results. It seems to me, that there is no particular mod which cause it, but some mac-specific mod issue in general, because in generated report there is a KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE which probably might mean that game tries to get access to some protected or invalid part of memory. I'm trying to analyze it with llm, but to no avail yet. Confirming, that for me this bug does not appear on vanilla game as well. Thank you in advance!18Views0likes0CommentsGame stops functioning
I´ve noticed a recurring problem after the august 6 update. Whenever I play, the game suddenly stops functioning. I´m suddenly unable to move things around in build mode, and i´m not able to get my sims to move around or actually do anything. The game is also stuck in pause mode. I can move around, click on things, select objects, but not able to do anything after that. This also affects saving the game, so that i´m forced to force-quit the game. Has anyone else had similar problems? Is there any solution other than waiting for the next update?JensKoppang119 days agoSeasoned Newcomer27Views0likes0CommentsIncredibly laggy and choppy gameplay after 8/6/26 Update
I play on an M1 MacBook Air and it's been working like a dream for years, but after the most recent update/fix on August 6th, 2026 my game is laggy to the point where it's unplayable.
