Force quit after business & hobbies
I purchased the new expansion pack, business & hobbies, the day after release. Ever since then, I have to force quit the game multiple times. It gets stuck on loading screen, or when in build mode, etc. No rhyme or reason to it, but I have noticed it happens every time i try to open a specific residential/small business lot. No cc/mods. Crash reports are also not getting uploaded into my documents because I've had to manually quit every time.

My reaper sent to collect souls and fix nether fissures at that Aether lot. No problem finding and fixing the fissures but there were no souls there. My reaper stayed there for hours and I looked over every inch of the place. I found a "No Ghosts" sign on the lost. Would this be the reason why there were no souls? My reaper is level 8 and I've never had this problem before (using a couple of mods and it still worked well). The only cause I can think of is that sign but I've never seen that sign before and I don't really know what it does. Anyway, my reaper ended up stuck on the lot until the end of his shift. I just want to know if this is a bug or if the game is working as it should.
First person camera not working anymore
So the first person camera hot keys (shift + tab) no longer work in my game. It just enters regular freecam mode that tab does. I also can’t switch to sims 3 camera with the hot keys for that either (I can change the camera through the icon in the top right but it’s annoying to have to do that!). I don’t know exactly when this started but it’s for sure been months. It’s one of those things where you randomly go to use it one day and “oh, that’s not working anymore?” So I don’t know if it’s a computer update or maybe EA app update that caused this to happen 🤷♂️ Im on Mac playing through the EA app. I’ve tried without mods. Tried repairing. Tried changing my computer’s keyboard to a couple different layouts. I don’t know what else to do but I really miss the hot keys! Any suggestions?
Sims 4 doesn't open and this is my last resort
I recently decided to transfer my Sims 4 game to a USB drive to help manage space on my computer. This decision was made after transitioning to the EA app, but I hadn't played the game on this platform before. I followed all the necessary steps, and the transfer seemed successful. I opened the game, and it worked fine, so I assumed everything was in order. That was two days ago. Today, I decided to purchase the "Business & Hobbies" pack. After buying it, I attempted to open the game, but I encountered error code 85262c58:29f00e76:00000000:00000000, which stated that the game needed to be repaired. I repaired the game via the EA app, but the same error appeared. I looked online for solutions, and the advice was to uninstall and reinstall the game. I did so, but afterward, the EA app requested full access to my computer storage (which it already had). I restarted my computer and reopened the EA app, but the same error code appeared. I then followed the steps provided on this forum for this kind of error code and restarted my computer again, but the issue persists. MIND YOU I DONT MIND LOOSING MY SAVES. Is there a way to like factory reset the sims? Like force quit but force delete to reinstall?
CAS and camera settings super glitchy
I have been limiting my use of the sims 4 on my mac because CAS is unusable with how glitchy it is. I can't edit any of my sims features, it glitches to the extreme and I can't get it back to normal. I can't even rotate around them in CAS. The same thing happens when my sims try to take a picture, I have no control over the camera and it glitches to the extreme when I try to move it. I saw previous posts on the forum with responses claiming the issue was fixed in an August 2022 patch, but this device was purchased in December 2023 and has had the issue since it's purchase, playing with no mods and after repairing and redownloading the game. Does anyone have any solutions? CAS is one of the best and most advanced parts of the sims 4 and it definitely makes it less playable when it doesn't work. I have the 2023 MacBook Air with an M2 chip and macOS Sonoma 14.6.1
Says im not connected to the internet when I am?
I downloaded Sims 4 on an external drive yesterday, downloaded the EA app just fine and then downloaded Sims 4 with no issues. When I tried to open it, it says that Im not connected to the internet, and Sims 4 needs internet to open. I checked, and my wifi is fine. Everything else works. I tried to restart my Mac, but that didn't help. Any advice would be super awesome, anything ive seen on this issue hasn’t been solved and the post is from 4+ years ago. Thank you!!
A new Electronic Arts folder gets created every time I open Sims 4
I am quite confused on how to fix my issue. I am on a Macbook and every time I open the Sims 4 app via the EA app, it creates a whole new Electronic Arts folder on my documents. I have tried a lot to fix this but nothing works. I have all backup saves and mods in folders thankfully but everytime i open sims 4 via EA app it opens a whole new folder and doesn't contain my saves or mods although they are in the folder. also would like to add that i have an external SSD drive that i have most of my stuff on for storage purposes. but i of course have the electronic arts folder on my documents on my laptop with the folder with the little arrow (i forget what it's called i'm sorry) and i know thats where my sims should be opening from. please help if you can!
Can't re-enter live mode or switch households
Hi! As the title states, when I'm playing the game, I am unable to properly enter back into live mode from build mode (as most of the in-game UI disappears and the option to swap households and back into to build more are gone and greyed out respectively). Additionally, the option to switch to a different household is gone from the manage households menu which effectually soft-locks me out of the game. This only started happening after the Feb. 25, 2025 update. I've tried repairing my game in the EA app and restarting my MacBook, but neither have worked. I am hoping someone here will have a solution or the issue can be resolved. This may or may not be important, but I do have CC and mods installed. But, from my personal testing, this is a game issue and not a mod issue.
Sims 4 won't launch, keeps boomeranging back to the EA app
I have a macbook. I've tried everything - clearing the cache, repairing the game, uninstalling the Sims 4, uninstalling the EA app, restarting my computer, letting the problem rest over night. The game refuses to open, I can't even make it to the loading screen. I have no CC or mods. Here's a video that shows what's going on. How do I fix this?
Lost all content after updating
Hello. I updated my Sims 4 through the EA app today, and I lost all of my content and there is nothing in my Gallery. None of the households, lots, packs show up when I launch the game. I don't even have the option to click "Load Game" on the Main Menu. For reference, I do not have any mods. I've tried absolutely everything I could find on previous forums, etc. I can see the 'saves' folder in Finder, but there are no files inside it. I tried re-downloading the EA app, repairing the game, nothing has worked. I tried giving full disk access to the EA app in my Mac System Settings Privacy and Security. I even tried inputting this command: -type f -name "*Slot_*" 2>/dev/null into Terminal. If you have anything else I can try, please please please let me know. I lost over 700 hours of content.I can't click on my sim or others
I bought the new business and hobbies pack and since then I can't click on my sim or other sims to get them to interact with each other, I've tried repair the game and checking if I had any broken mods but nothing is working. I have a MacBook Pro, everything was working just fine till I bought that pack
Unrecognized video card, Can't click
Just bought a new imac. Went to start my sims4 game and it says the video card was recognized and not in the database. I can NOT even get past the main screen as nothing I'm clicking on is working. I try to bring up the game options and I can't click on things because it seems it isn't recognizing my clicking! My cursor is a magnifying class with a "+" in the middle NOT the usual arrow cursor. I have tried all the "fixes" I found online but none are solving the issue of me not be able to click on anything on the main screen. HELP! Also is there NO option to contact support? I can not open a new case or find a chat that isn't a bot. I can NOT click on Tech support IN GAME for the above mentioned issues.bug ajouter un sims en mode vie disparu
j'ai remarquer récemment que lorsque je joue en mode vie , si je veux rajouter un sims ( créer ou prendre de la galerie) a la famille via le miroir changer le sims, option a disparu dans le chu et d autre option du "créer un sims "sont inaccessibles message erreur " n ai pas disponible dans ce monde". je suis sur mac , j'ai enlevé tous mes modes et cc , supprimé les caches et réparé tout le jeu ,toujours même problème. de plus les voleurs ont on été rajouter dans le jeu suite a la mise jour , et rien , n'excitant . pouvez vous vous penché sur ce problème car je pense que je ne suis pas la seule, ça me gâche mes partis 😤🤨 merci d avance malicia861
