Pack missing in live mode and CAS
Help! I re-downloaded Vampires on my Mac and went into my save to see that the pack isn’t registered in either Live Mode or CAS; it's on my Sims 4 game! Even after trying to repair it and restarting my Mac, it still doesn't register! Do I uninstall Sims 4 or redownload it? What do I do?! [CM edit - descriptive title]Solved7iy9fvmn9tmw2 days agoSeasoned Novice22Views0likes3CommentsSims4
It’s started for almost two weeks. Here and there when I play Sims4 I get multiple saves in my save file instead of just one. I only save once and then, if I need to again I’ll delete it IN THE FOLDER then I’ll save it and there’s one everytime cause I go back in everytime I feel like I should save it. Also, for mcc command center when I go to relationships and then add relationships no title of a relative pops up like normally. I never did anything when it wasn’t happening or I don’t remember but this isn’t the first time and it doesn’t happen often.8Views0likes0Commentsrepaired loads of times, cleared cache nothing loaded properly.

My game crashes, despite having saved multiple times when I restart the game it starts that same family on an older save and not the most recent save. Therefore, I have to do a lot again.. I can't pinpoint what I was doing when the game crashed cause often times this happens when I look away from the computer screen. I'm using a Mac to play Sims 4.BlondieVaz4 days agoSeasoned Novice267Views1like13CommentsSims 4 repeatedly stuck on infinite loading screens on M4 MacBook Air
I'm experiencing intermittent infinite loading that has made The Sims 4 nearly unplayable on my Mac. The game launches normally, and I can sometimes load into Live Mode, Manage Worlds, or Build Mode. However, even if I can do that, within minutes of playing, one of the loading transitions becomes stuck indefinitely. The plumbob and loading screen keep moving, and the music keeps playing, but the game never finishes loading, so I have to force-quit it. The same transitions might work once or twice and then fail on the next attempt. This has happened when: Going from Live Mode to Manage Worlds Returning from Build Mode on a non-household lot to Manage Worlds Traveling between lots Loading into Live Mode after CAS Reopening a save Mac specifications: 2025 MacBook Air Apple M4 chip 16 GB memory macOS 26.6, build 25G72 I first repaired The Sims 4 through the EA app. Then I let the game generate a completely new Sims 4 folder and tested a brand-new vanilla save and household without adding any of my previous files. I then completely uninstalled The Sims 4, cleared the EA app cache, restarted the Mac, and downloaded the game again from scratch. The problem still occurs with no mods or custom content, a completely fresh Sims 4 folder, brand-new saves and households, every pack deactivated, and only the three base-game worlds available. I have additionally tested the following: A different macOS user profile macOS Safe Mode Fullscreen and Windowed display modes Vertical Sync on and off Lowered graphics settings Laptop Mode Autosave disabled A fully updated version of macOS Adjusted Privacy & Security permissions and restarted Disabled iCloud syncing for Desktop and Documents so the active Sims 4 folder is local Running Apple Diagnostics The game doesn't create a lastException.txt or lastCrash.txt when it becomes stuck. My EA Error Report ID is: 51dc9b7a-0c92-4a8b-80aa-9ec85b0016e1 I apologize for the lengthy post, but I'd really like to get this fixed, as the game is currently unplayable and it seems I'm not the only Mac user with this issue recently.Kenziethezebra4 days agoRising Novice103Views0likes10CommentsSims 4 packs are not showing up as installed after moving the app location
It was originally in this location: And I dragged the folder to this application section because I read someone else do it to make for easier access: I tried the fixes of trying to download the packs through the EA app, but it shows as already installed. I also tried to activate through the marketplace but it shows up as “not installed.” This has been quite frustrating because I use items from each expansion pack and the game isn’t reading anything that I own :( is there any fixes for this issue to get the game to read my packs? Do I move it back to the original location? will such troubleshooting steps affect my batch of mods currently installed? I apologize for the many questions this is the first time this has happened to me and while my game is still running well and smooth, the packs that are not reading which results in a great chunk of missing content. Thank you and looking forward to your help :)8Views0likes0CommentsUnable to start: The Sims 4 is already running - Mac only
If you're experiencing this error message it doesn't mean your game is already running, the actual message itself is incorrect. It means The Sims 4 cannot access the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder to load your user data when you attempt to launch the game. This is essentially a permissions issue which can be resolved based on your setup: - If you have just installed or reinstalled the game - If you have iCloud Drive enabled and it is syncing your Desktop & Documents folders - If you have recently updated your Mac or the game - If you have moved your Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder to an external drive and created a symlink in your Documents folder ______________________________________________________________ If you have just installed or reinstalled the game: You would have been prompted to allow The Sims 4 permission to access the Documents folder, this is security built into macOS. This is so it can access the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder in your Documents folder, if one already exists, or create a new one if it doesn't exist. If you clicked Don't Allow when prompted the game cannot read and write to the Documents folder, resulting in the error message. Fix - Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders (you will need to use an Mac Administrator account to access this) and enable access to the Documents folder by clicking the toggle on: If you do not see this option open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access (you will need to use a Mac Administrator account to access this). Click the + in the bottom left corner, below the list of apps. A Finder window will open to the Applications folder. Navigate to where your game is installed, by default this is Applications > EA Games, click on it and then click Open. It will now be added to the Full Disk Access list. Make sure it is toggled on. Whilst giving the game Full Disk Access isn't ideal, and shouldn't be necessary, it is a quick and easy solution to fixing the error message and the game is signed and notarised by Apple. ______________________________________________________________ If you have iCloud Drive enabled and it is syncing your Desktop & Documents folders: This is a really common cause of this error message and is as a result of your Mac storage being full resulting in iCloud pushing the entire Documents folder to the cloud. The game cannot see the Documents folder and its contents because it is not local on your machine, therefore it cannot access the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder to load user data at launch. Fix - Open System Settings > Apple Account > iCloud > Drive and disable the Desktop & Documents folders syncing. Be aware of the effect this will have if you use multiple Apple devices to access these folders: ______________________________________________________________ If you have recently updated your Mac or the game: Sometimes permissions can go awry after updating the OS or you have been prompted to change settings after updating and inadvertently clicked the wrong thing. Fix - check all of the applicable settings in the instructions above ______________________________________________________________ If you have moved your Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder to an external drive and created a symlink in your Documents folder: There can be multiple reasons for the error message when a symlink has been set up but they are all caused by the game not being able to access the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder: your external drive is not plugged in and properly mounted. Check the drive is plugged in and showing in Finder/on your Desktop. your symlink is broken. This can be checked by looking at the symlinked folder in your Documents folder. If the icon is a white file and not a folder it is broken. Trash it and recreate the symlink in Terminal. If you have further issues refer to the dedicated symlink thread opening post. the game does not have access to Removable Volumes (external drives) in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders. You would have been prompted to give permission when launching the game for the first time after successfully creating the symlink and maybe denied it. Give the game access: you have iCloud Drive syncing your Desktop & Documents folders to the cloud which does not work well with the symlink. Disable it (see above for further instruction). your external drive has not been ejected properly multiple times resulting in the OS changing the mount point. Check Disk Utility and rectify, see the dedicated symlink thread opening post for further instruction. ______________________________________________________________ If you're still stuck a really quick and easy way to resolve this is to create a new Administrator account on your Mac and play the game in that account. When you first launch the game in that account you will be prompted to give all the necessary permissions for the game to access the Documents folder - make sure you allow it 😊13KViews0likes551CommentsSims 4 keeps saying file is corrupt
I am unable to load my game after the last update as it keeps popping up with the attached message. I cannot use any of my mods even though they have been updated and I am very confused as to what is happening. I have removed all my mod folders, reset my laptop, reinstalled the sims 4, repaired the game countless times but it still will not work. Can someone please help meThe Sims 4 save became empty/corrupted after clearing the EA App cache.
I play The Sims 4 on Mac. After clearing the EA App cache, my old save disappeared from the Load Game menu. I still have the original Slot_00000004.save file, approximately 10 MB. I restored the save into a newly generated Sims 4 folder. The save now appears in Load Game, but when I open it, all of my households and lots are missing and the world is empty. Recover Save is also completely empty and there are no .save.ver0/.ver1 backup files available. I tested the save without Mods/CC and the problem remains. I also created a copy of the save under another slot, but the copied save has the same problem. The save file is still recognized as a Maxis DBPF file and is approximately 10 MB. I would like to know whether EA can analyze or recover data from this save file26Views0likes1CommentGame crashing after recent update
My game has not stopped crashing since the most recent update, it is completely unplayable. I saw some people in the PC forum complaining about the same thing. I've done every trick and tip (and yes, I do have CC and mods installed- only one script mod, but a lot of CC and I've done all the troubleshooting there), but the problem persists. What should I do next?tipi13557 days agoNew Rookie29Views0likes0CommentsEndless loading screen
So I've just bought a brand new Macbook PRO with M5 Pro chip (Mac OS Tahoe 26.6). I've downloaded The Sims 4 + bought the Seasons expansion pack. I honestly didn't even test the game before adding CC (from Curse Forge). After playing for some time I tried going to Manage worlds and editing my household from there and that's where I realized that I have some problems. The game was stuck on endless loading screen, so I had to force quit it. Since then I've tried everything the internet suggested: Deleting CC and slowly putting it back Completely deleting CC's Deleting Mods folder + localthumb.package and other recommended folders Deleting the original The Sims 4 folder so that the game creates a new one Playing in widowed mode Turning off laptop mode Completely deleting and reinstalling the game The game doesn't even work without CC inside. What else can I do, is there any way to fix this bug?v3f8s5mz4th48 days agoSeasoned Newcomer81Views1like5Comments[READ FIRST] Saves, CC/Mods or Library items disappeared? iCloud issues
ISSUE Saves One minute your game is working fine. The next you go to play and the Load Game button has disappeared, there seems to be no way to play an existing save. CC/Mods Newly added CC/Mods do not show up in your game despite being properly installed (for help with installing 3rd party content see here) or CC randomly starts disappearing from your game. Library items Saving Lots, Rooms and Households to your in-game Library doesn't work CAUSE Most likely the internal storage on your Mac is too full and iCloud is pushing any newly added files to your Documents folder in the cloud. This can happen at anytime. You can check the storage level by clicking on the Apple in the top left corner of the menu bar then About This Mac, then the Storage tab. By default, the game stores your Saves, Mods, Tray (where your Library items are saved) and all your user game data in a folder called The Sims 4 in Documents > Electronic Arts. If there is no Sims 4 folder in this location the game will recreate a new one each time it is launched. If you have iCloud Drive enabled and set to store your Desktop & Documents folder in the cloud it may be moving your existing Sims 4 folder to the cloud, hence the need to create a new Sims 4 folder every time you launch the game. You can check the status of various files and folders, and what the little cloud icons mean, here. FIX Firstly, you MUST free up some space on your Mac otherwise doing this is pointless. Empty the Downloads folder, go through your data and see what you no longer need, empty the Bin. If you have large Photos, Music and TV libraries consider storing them on an external drive. Instructions here on how to do this for your Photos library, the principle is the same for the Music and TV apps. Open System Preferences and then your iCloud settings. What you click on can vary by macOS, check Apple's help page here if you can't immediately find where to look. This is where you can choose what gets stored in the cloud. We are only interested in two settings, iCloud Drive and Optimise Mac Storage Click on Options... in the iCloud Drive setting and make sure Desktop & Documents Folders is unchecked. Scroll down to the bottom of this Apple help page to understand what happens to your data when you turn off the setting. Back at the iCloud settings window, Uncheck Optimise Mac Storage below the list of apps using iCloud. This means that your Mac will stop pushing files to the cloud when the internal storage is getting full. For more info on this setting read this help page. Once you have successfully stopped iCloud from moving the contents of your Documents folder to the cloud you need to move the Sims 4 folder back into the default location - Macintosh HD > Users > [User] > Documents > Electronic Arts Apple explain here what the status of the little cloud icons mean. If you're feeling brave you could consider creating a symlink and storing your Sims 4 folder on an external drive. Or maybe change your EA App Games Library location to an external Drive.48KViews20likes748Comments[WORKAROUND] game window displays Sims 4 title and cannot be changed
Hello, yesterday I mirrored my MAC screen to another laptop (my own), since then my sims 4 has been having mouse calibration issues on top of other things. When I go into full screen, the sims 4 title on the top of the window will not go away. This in turn has made it so that my cursor to click onto anything has to be below the object I want to click on, instead of the usual click onto the object to select. I've tried resetting my computer, restoring the game, opening and closing the app/game. Nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue? I attached an image below to give an example of what my screen looks like. I am a MacBook user, and have never had any issues playing the Sims 4 through the EA app. Today I updated it then loaded up the game and it was fine. I then opened up and closed the game a few times, as I was testing out OBS's screen record feature. After I connected my macbook to my second screen (again never had any issues with this) and opened the sims 4 on the second screen and played around with the display/resolution settings in the Sims 4. I then quit the game and when I tried to reopen shortly after it would not work. Every time I launch the sims on the EA app, the sims 4 app icon pops up at the bottom as normal but then instantly closes and the EA app pops back up on the screen. There are no messages or errors that come up. I have literally tried EVERYTHING including... Removing my mods folder Deleting cache Repairing the sims and expansions in the EA app Restarting the EA app App recovery on the EA app Making sure both EA app and Sims 4 have permissions on my mac to the full disk/documents Closing all EA applications through activity manager And NOTHING has worked! I feel like i have tried every single suggestion online. Please help! I don't know what changed in a matter of minutes.SolvedItsGroovyLady11 days agoRising Newcomer56Views1like3Comments
