Hi, @anahuj . Unfortunately, the older version of Origin is going to have the same issue, albeit working for about 20 minutes or until you shut down your computer/close Origin.

If I'm correct, Microsoft isn't really supporting Windows 8, so it sucks that you can't update to 8.1. Have you tried  updating to 8.1 a second time?

Lastly, I'm not aware of how to run EA games without Origin. If you have the installation disc, that might help.

For this issue, I'm going to place the blame on Microsoft, not EA or the Origin team. 😮

Maybe someday Origin will be almost as good as Steam....

To clarify the situation - why the new version of Origin doesn't work is because it needs to have the most recent Windows updates. You can find which updates you need in the marked solution in this thread:

    Well, I found the files but don't know how to get Origin find them. Do I just copy them all to Origin exe folder? Maybe 15 dll files in total.

    already but it says my Windows 8 is not supported. I downloaded 64bit version for Windows 8. But no.

    I know Origin worked and launched my games a couple of months ago. I still want the older version to launch the games in my library. Why is that problem? Should I invent time-machine or would it be easier to provide older version for us who have 2 months older machine/system than now required?

    Is this an RT version ? is the only reason i can think of it saying unsupported

    The update for Windows RT 8.1 or Windows RT can be downloaded only from Windows Update.
