Why do you need to renew everything, it worked fine to me the way it was, this really sucks big time...

I went and got a new harddrive with a new windows 10 ( genuine Windows 10 ) and somehow Origin worked on it. But Origin refuses to work on my older harddrive. So il just carry on using the new one.

    Thanks TOM.

    @Spiffy1955

The previous client was getting outdated so we updated it. Now I do agree with you that when we do update something that it should work - we are now making sure that any leftover issues will be resolved as soon as possible.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the added information.

Does this mean that your old hard drive has a non-genuine version of Windows 10 (I promise that this won't get you in trouble)? That would help us figure out why it won't work for certain players - most likely missing updates.

By me this appears most frequently when I wake up the Win 7 after sleep. With regular shutdown and restart it doesn't seem to have this problem. There are other strange things here as well, when I have this error and quit from origin, it does not close the process as it normally does, it just removes the icon from the bar next to the clock, but I can still see the process in the task manager. After that I can start several origin processes and they are active for about a few mins. After that they close themselves and only the first one stays open. I am not sure how this happens. It is just interesting, since normally only a single origin process is running even if I start origin several times.

Is Origin installed on the same HDD as Windows? Have you reinstalled drivers on your new HDD or just copied over files?

I would really love a solution to this. I believe Origin updated automatically and since then, I have not been able to even get to a log in screen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have even reinstalled windows and starting fresh with the DVD's as well as downloading Origin from their website.

I have been messing with this for days and am incredibly frustrated after spending $40 on software that does not work.

Just a heads up, I am running Windows 7, fully updated and my computer surpasses all minimum requirements.  Also, I've tried every recommended quick fix or option listed in all threads.

    Thanks in advance.

    @Straatford87

Sorry for the late reply but yes I had a copy of windows 10 enterprise edition on my old hard drive.

What happened on my old Hard drive and Origin was that nothing would display but a lot of popups occurred but i personally think its because the windows never updated due to it not being a real version of windows 10.

I am having the same the same issues. Open origin to a blank white screen and cant assess any games from there. I've also been searching forums and trying all kinds to get it to work but no avail. Very disappointing because I can not access any of my origin games which have cost me a lot of money! Seems to have occurred since the latest update was installed. I have attached my DxDiag.

Your Windows 7 installation isn't updated -  you are missing Service Pack 1.

I can also see that your graphics card has outdated drivers. Please check your system manufacturers or the Intel website to see if any drivers are available.

And lastly, we do have a workaround available:

If you are on an older system with outdated drivers:

    • Download our old Origin client via https://www.dm.origin.com/download/legacy
    • Run the installer in Vista or XP SP2 compatibility mode (right-click installer -> Properties -> Compatibility)
    • Note that Store and Social functions are not available on this Origin version. Any purchases can still be made via the webstore on another device.

    Amazing!

I have spent the last 5 hours working on this, but it seems to have worked at last!

I have the same mostly after I wakeup the system from sleep and very rarely after a real start. Sometimes if I wait about 30 mins it prints a login screen despite that I always check the "keep me signed in" checkbox. This might be an error in the login system. Another interesting thing, that Firefox does not imported the certification of my antivirus system automatically, so it might be that Origin has something related to that. The only problem if this is a login or communication error, that why do we need to wait 30 mins before it does anything. :S At least print a message about retries or something like that.

I have had this issue for a week or so..

Just fixed it by doing this.

    Clear your Origin data cache:

    Windows players:

    1. First, make sure you can view hidden files and folders:
      1. Open the Start menu
      2. Type "view hidden files and folders" into the search bar.
      3. Press Enter to open the View tab of your Folder Options.
      4. Open the Hidden Files and folders menu within the Files and Folders menu.
      5. Click Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
      6. Click Apply, then OK to exit the menu.
    2. If open, close Origin by clicking Origin in the menu bar and selecting Exit.
    3. Click the Start button, then Computer, then double-click (C🙂 to open the C:\ drive
    4. Open the ProgramData folder, then the Origin folder, and delete all the files and folders except for LocalContent.
      1. Windows XP players can find the ProgramData folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Electronic Arts\
    5. Go back to C:\:
      1. Then open the Users folder,
      2. Then the folder with your computer's username,
      3. Then AppData
      4. Then Roaming
      5. Then Origin, and delete all the files and folders inside.
    6. Go back to the AppData folder:
      1. Then open the Local folder,
      2. Then Origin, and delete all the files and folders inside.
